Oh? Its not Kaiten-sushi is it? ![]() In Vancouver it ranges from $7 to yeah over $100 http://www.tojos.com/ is the most famous JPN restaurant in Vancouver ![]() The chef is NOT related to Tojo Hideki He's a nice guy from Kyushu who lived in Osaka and went to Vancouver decades ago. He's quite famous locally

Best thing is the sushi is made fresh once you've chosen the variety you want (plate color) you bring it to the back and you get your sushi made |

Yeah, that's pretty important ![]() Oh? I've never had that ordering style before, I guess its as you said the chefs don't speak English AT ALL? ![]() http://kiyosushi.ca/sushi.html Too bad about the kinda crappy website This is one of my favorite mom-and-pop JPN restaurants in Vancouver This one's JPN-run. A VERY good operation running in the Nikkei senior's home in a Vancouver suburb. http://www.fujiya.ca/locations/documents/instore_menu.pdf I love this about the west coast, the Asian community is long-established enough to have these kinds of places available and in English to boot. |

Only know three things in English brother "hello" "time to pay" and "have a nice day" I'm actually going to be travelling to China in the relatively near future (the next three years or so ) I want to be a Mother dammit and I know China has a lot of unwanted baby girls in need of loving parents so that's what I've decided I want to do n.n Edited by Nuriko, Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:36 am.

![]() Did you ask where in Japan they were from? (Since you can speak JPN and all)Its going to be awful hard running a customer-oriented business in the US with very limited English... Its just a fact of life there yanno... In one of Vancouver's suburbs (Richmond) you can just about get by using only Chinese but Cantonese is de rigeur there due to all the Hong Kongers who moved there . The Chinese food courts and restaurants are FANTASTIC though, really, really good. . Its also like 60% ethnic Chinese Even so there was a flap about some parking information not having English on them which is kind of weird because it is Canada after all. Its ok to have a "secret menu" for Chinese people in restaurants, that's one thing, but "no parking allowed" is actually, you know, important info and should be in both Chinese AND English. Hong Kong has all important signs in English (some grammatically wrong, but still you'll get the gist) so its funny a Canadian suburb doesn't ![]()
I heard the process is getting harder, you might want to go soon... ... You'll also probably go to Guangzhou, *ahem* only a 1 hour train ride (well, on the "turbo" train or 3 hours by bus) from Hong Kong!

Lol never thought to ask I will next time I'm getting Sushi n.n had entire conversations about their daughter going to college here in America, talked about their grand babies (twins were only four days old last time I went in) yet never thought to ask XD Harder ? I thought China was over populated which is why they have a lot of unwanted children brother why make it DIFFICULT to get the babies good homes? Just doesn't make a lot of sense Edited by Nuriko, Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:46 am.

So my hereditary lung issue and my hubs epilepsy prevent us from adopting? That's insane brother it's HEREDITARY,an adopted baby won't get it x.x Unless they assume it makes me weak and feeble and unable to care for a baby I don't get why it would matter x.x do I act weak or feeble to you? ![]() I dunno man it could be a possibility sadly. Yeah, they don't even allow "obesity" which means I'm out of this game. (and like 80% of Americans would be obese by Chinese standards, seriously )The red tape can be quite aggravating. I dunno, you could try and reach out and speak to some of the agencies specializing in China (there are quite a few) and go from there. I'm only parlaying information sis it sucks but there's nothing we can do ![]() Here, have more sushi! ![]() ![]()

Oh, did they say gays couldn't adopt? (no idea, sorry) ![]() The government is VERY conservative, despite their Communist heritage of radicalism. The culture is pretty conservative. As I said, China is not Japan, especially in regards to sex. However http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-34392333 https://www.quora.com/Are-gay-people-accepted-in-China-And-why The government do NOT equal the people... Most people don't care if you're gay or not there. There's almost no gay bashing. Its just a different culture and a different world. Most Chinese people are pretty friendly and they're a lot easier to get talking than in Japan where people are more reserved. Ironically as a caucasian you'll probably get a pass in China because "eh they're foreigners they're weird anyway" kinda like "gaijin power" in Japan If you say you're lgbt they'll be like "meh whatever all foreigners are crazy anyway". Government bureaucracy can be VERY strict though. However, unlike Japan, in China you can grease the palms a bit, sit down with the official, have a cup of tea, explain your plight, and if you look sad enough they might help you, whereas in Japan the law's the law and that's FINAL. ![]() Different places, different cultures. That's what it is. I'll visit you in Guangzhou so you'll have some company ![]() Well, on the POSITIVE side of the LGBT ledger ( *AHEM* ) There's minimal gay bashing and they're tolerated just ignored and not given "shiny" treatment. Also, Asian culture is more tolerant of male androgyny anyway (not female though, females are HIGHLY expected to be, well, feminine). And the gay stereotype is flipped. In Asia its muscular, "super-manly" guys who are seen as a bit gay because of how.... different they are from the Chinese mainstream.

JLo's AMA performance was truly amazing and sickening, she slayed the house down. Its makes me laugh that Nikki was a salty bitch and Ciara couldnt handle the fact that she could never perform like that. Arianna winning best female of the year is also a travesty. |
