The Gundam Musous were always fun, but I always found them....what's the word....obtuse? In a way that made it hard for me to keep at them for as long as I did DW and SW and WO and even Hyrule Warriors.

There was just too much going on in that game, in terms of equipment and leveling up and stuff.
I loved the plans / parts and the pilot/ MS separation.

What I didn't like was how all the missions and stories were completely lame and boring after the first game. No more interesting interactions, no more original story ("We need to fight these guys for no reason!" is not a story)

And none of the stages were memorable after the first one. I loved the desert stage with the moving blocks, the one with the suspension bridge I would fly WZ underneath, the stage in space above the red planet... man that was such a great game. I wouldn't mind if GM5 was just the first one with all the new mechanics and suits added in.

Oh, and being able to go through Official Mode again in ANY suit after beating it the first time. Why did they ever do away with that?

SW, DW, and Hryule Warriors were always very simple. I'm not talking gameplay, but like the leveling up stuff. Equipment and what not. You got a stronger weapon, so you used that one. You equipped an item or two and you're off.

Gundam, and some of the other Frnachise Warriors, but especially Gundam got a little...not confusing, but like...overwhelming for me, imo. Collecting plans, upgrading plans, then merging them, then equipping them. I usually latched on to one suit and ungraded it to maximum and then was too lazy to do the others...usually F-91 for some reason... (never seen the anime or heard of it before the games).

I'm partial to Koei's anime musou games tbh, they're a lot more fun than the usual Warriors.

Ah yeah! That too. For someone who never knew that much about Gundam, the story aspects never bothered me too much. But, the missions were all so repetitive and boring.

I don't really know what they could've done to fix that...and i dont know why it bugged me in Gundam but not in DW or SW (cause its kinda the same thing...). But it did.

Maybe it was my attachment to SW and DW characters made just seeing and using the characters enough for me. Whereas, my lack of attachment to Gundam made more interesting missions and level design that much more necessary? I dunno.

That same reason why Arslan musou got kinda dull

Fighting nameless peons constantly got old quick. But the combat was really good

I doubt it was that, because I love everything about Gundam and I was still bored to tears by all the missions. There were no good set pieces, nothing to make one stage unique from any of the others.

SGM has the cool atmosphere stage in the clouds, but that's the only cool one in the game. 3 was just terrible with its box-and-hallway stages.

Arslan felt like it could've been much better, the combat was fun. I dont mind the nameless peons so much...as long as there are a lot of them and there weren't many. Battlefields always felt a little dull and boring and were very structured in a way that you were too focused on an objective you had to complete or you'd fail the level rather than the good old days of DW3 (and DW in general, really...but to a lesser extent) of just killing everything.

Yeah the amount of soldiers were too small for my liking too. At least the mardan rushes were cool. Could have been better though.
