Yeah, I liked it in spite of it's flaws mostly. Certainly the worst of the CAW movesets, but it was my favourite, because I always liked spears :asia:

I really need to get round to getting SW4, so I can find out what's with these Godspeed things. Once I get a job it'll definitely be on my to buy list. :beard:

The last charge attack in the sword's godspeed was pretty good in sw4 if I remember. Especially if you had thunder element.

But generally yeah there's nothing too exciting with them

Yeah I'd definitely pick it up Sanada. A lot better than SW3 and DW7/8
I love the sword C5. It's so devastating :asia:

I don't like the naginata because all the charge attacks look the same.

Guess that's the downside to it being a generic weapon

My only complaint with godspeed was koei's laziness on it.

C1/3 and C2/4 are the same attacks for non godspeed types, while godspeed types have the same C5/7. Like really? :xiao:

Hope I agree there, although SW3 should be an easy one to beat :asia:
Which is sad, because SW was always my favourite once it came about, but SW3 was just terrible

DW7/XL I really did enjoy though, so I'd hope SW4 is infact better. :ph43r:

I usually use whatever weapon fits the Caw I'm making. For example I made Dante from Devil may Cry (the original not the crap reboot) and have him Nobunaga's set

SW2 is still one of my favourite Koei games, everything about it was so good.

Definitely from a gameplay perspective SW4 is a lot more enjoyable for me. More troop variety too which is always nice.

And shallow reason but the battlefields in SW4 are really really nice. Compared to DW where like it's mostly just dull and grey with the occasional river.

SW1's still my favourite Warriors game, and with the direction the series has been taking (much more over the top and 'anime' for lack of a better term) I don't see that changing.

SW2 was fantastic too though, I just can't rank it as highly because so many characters I loved in 1 got made worse or cut :tora:

I'd consider that a negative myself

He was alright, and certainly good for the story, but his moveset was rather dull, his most prominent characteristic was just being kind of a dick, and he was a contributing factor to Yukimura being so one dimensional in that game.

Only thing I really hated in 1 was the level scaling, sometimes I just wanted to enjoy racking up a killcount but it made the stages into such a slugfest  would have preferred it to be optional.

The branching paths and multiple endings were great. And I liked the CAW mode where you had to do all the trials.

SW2 brought in the moveset types which I really enjoyed, and the castle battles not being seperate stages anymore

Yeah well he's my favorite character. Seriously am I the only one on this forum who likes him?

And that's when you get your 4th/5th weapon and you reset back to level 1 and have some fun

And yeah, I liked quite a few changes SW2 did mechanically. I really did miss the Mission system though. It wasn't the most complex of things, but I did like going back to fulfill them all and see how the stages changed as a result.

Sanadamaru might not even come out here, and it'll be new game price too! Compared to SW4 which is under £20

I don't think I ever got any of them, I was really young when I played that one

They brought the missions back for 4 at least. Trying to get them all was a pain

The easiest way to get the 4th/5th weapons was actually just to get a really good 3rd weapon, then reset to level 1, so the scaling was back to it's easiest, then doing the requirements with really overpowered items and weapon, even if the difficulty was set higher

I remember I had a number of farming levels for good weapons, Hanzo's Ueda level was great because you could stealth all of it aside from floor 4 against Kunoichi, and got like 3 or 4 weapon boxes
Run through that 2 player in co-op on Chaos difficulty, have a higher level guy beat Kunoichi and it's not even a challenge
Although there were more efficient levels, it was the easiest.

They brought a mission system in to SW3, which was the most insulting thing to me. Just do arbitrary challenges like get a 300 combo on some officer for some...
I'm assuming SW4 isn't things like that :asia:
If so sounds good.

I hated SW1 scaling.

Just got a cool ass weapon doing the Ueda Castle Kunoichi stage on Chaos, but if I ever want to actually enjoy that weapon you had to be level 1.
SW4 has some in game objectives like.

Beat this guy with a x number combo, or a musou attack, or whatever.

But they're not really that common.

I actually enjoyed the challenge that the scaling provided when just playing normally. Sometimes worth a reset just for some mindless slaughter, but I preferred sticking at max level usually. :P
I think it's where I started liking games which felt challenging, Chaos mode in a max difficulty stage at level 20 is probably the hardest a Warriors game has been, not accounting for specific officers 1 shotting you in some games.

EDIT: Actually, that'd be Nightmare mode, wouldn't it? Think that's what the XL one added. Did they increase the level cap too? Can't recall, but being able to max your stats in that it's hard to say which is actually tougher.

Each stage has them, some are character exclusive. But then there's others like "defeat x to save this guy" etc. Mostly things that progress the story.

I'm glad the scaling didn't come back, but I wouldn't have minded it being an optional feature

Samurai Warriors chronicles 3 has a bunch of those and I find them annoying
