That's entirely different. Race dynamics are different for one. Two, Peregrines isn't a historical retelling of an event that only involves one racial group. Anyone who would push for racial diversity in a Han Dynasty movie is disgusting. Diversity should be in movies where they can be applicable. Peregrines is a fantasy movie, but other races than white are just too out there in the world of superpowers or magic, or whatever this movie is about.
So it would be okay if the han dynasty movie was fantasy to have a racial diverse cast?

Not to mention Cho Chang's actress was also Scottish, so makes her one of the best characters by default :smugracia:

They still wouldn't cast white people. Hollywood knows everyone loves Asians doing kung-fu! (: Try again sweaty! I mean I guess they'd try to make Zhao Yun or Liu Bei white or something.

All this race stuff reminded me that one guy I work with made a bunch of racist comments today and I was really taken aback but debating on telling the manager about it when I'm back on monday. He wasn't in today

Liu Bei had long earlobes and hardly any facial hair.

Dudes.

Liu Bei was an alien.

That explains the entire three kingdoms period.

My only criteria is realism

If the era/place had black people: cast black people, NOT blackface

If it didn't: Don't cast them

That's it

"Diversity for the sake of diversity" doesn't work. Realism trumps all, IMO, especially SJWs :XD

I can't wait for Hollywood to make a Naruto movie starring Zac Efron as Naruto. Jennifer Lawrence as relatable girl Sakura. And that guy who played Kylo Ren as Sasuke. I smell an Oscar!!!!!!!!!
