Virginia is a battleground state, but admittedly it is looking pretty likely Clinton will win it. It was never as close as some of the others. It's weird because Virginia is part of the South though and has tended to vote Republican in the past. I'm surprised that it's gone as blue as it has. Speaking of Mew, I think he lives in Virginia too. |

That was true for Brexit, because Brexit was a non-district bound popular-vote-wins-period referendum which is kind of rare. Most votes in democratic countries are divided by districts and each district is different. Like, for example, Cosmopolitan London is very different from rural Lincolnshire, and New York City is VERY different from rural Iowa or Texas or even Seattle on the other side of the country. Its districts and states that count in most elections. nationwide referendums are frankly pretty rare most of the time |

Yeah mew is in Virginia. Virginia was a Confederate state but was never part of the "Deep South". Virginia is "coastal Appalachia" and they're frankly not very far away from Washington D.C. at all geographically (hence in 1861 people thought the Civil War would end quickly, with one army winning the battle and then bumrushing Richmond or D.C., but it didn't turn out that way...) I think Northern Virginia is almost in suburb-reach of Washington D.C. There;s been quite a bit of tech and stuff in Virginia these days too, and they're not as "deep south" as Mississippi and Alabama and so on. Virginia was also relatively quiet during the 1960s civil rights movement as well, compared to the Deep South. With a few cultural changes due to being relatively northern, more devotion to a "genteel manner" than the out-and-out rednecks of the deep south and with the inevitable population changes, Virginia being a "slightly blue" state doesn't surprise me that much tbh |

I'd always thought of Virginia as being one of those really Republican southron states, but then I'm not so familiar with the ins and outs of every state I just think of New York and California being pot smoking hippies and Texas and Utah being draconian. |

Well maybe it might be more proper to call Virginia a "borderland" these days. I think that culturally it might be somewhere between the South and the North. Maybe now it trends more toward North, though obviously during the Civil War it did not. I've only been there once and I don't know too much about it. |

http://blogs.voanews.com/all-about-america/2015/08/05/is-america-actually-11-countries/ An interesting look at the issue Virginia and North Carolina are "Tidewater", and are actually slightly more amenable to the democrat's messages. The "Deep South" though, is exactly that. ![]() Utah is more religiously conservative in the "prim, pious" sense, while the Deep South is more "F*** Y'all we'll say whatever the F*** we want Yankee libtards, F*** off" types

Swan is a descendant of the legendary Hwan Emperor who conquered Yurop in the Finno-Ugric/Hwan Hyper War. She is going to make South Korea great again and make North Korea not retarded again! through kpops. |

Hangul somehow seems a lot more logical than Chinese/Japanese. which are both just all over the place. Hangul is just like a few circles and lines here and there.

If Ohio controls the election then Trump will certainly win. I think he will win anyways. But the real contests this year have been Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Nevada and arizona imo. ohio was always leaning Trump. |

Its true, Hangul was created from scratch in a logical manner by a single logical (well team I guess but King Sejong was the main driving force). Chinese developed more or less organically out of nowhere in the oracle bones, and Japanese.... Japanese is a total and utter mess when it comes to writing ![]() Writing Japanese is a pain I will give it credit for actually being very eclectic for such an isolated country ![]() Its true though, Hangul is more logical than either Chinese or Japanese. I still can't read it though
