My real love is ancient history too. I love the Romans and the Greeks especially, but I'm also interested in the Mayans and the Egyptians. I'd like to learn more about China but there is so much of it I wouldn't know where to begin. |

Well I wasn't taught that ![]() I can hardly see how wiping whole cities off the map could be justified regardless tbh. I hate that that happened. I think here we tend to forget about it, it gets overshadowed by the horrors that were happening in Europe at the time. |

My favorite Dynasties of China are Zhou, Qin and Han. Roman and Greek history is pretty interesting as for the Americas the Inca, Maya and the Aztecs are interesting |

The Qin dynasty is a good place to start in Chinese history, it has a much smaller pool of pseudo-myth surrounding it that early periods (and even later ones like the Late Han/Three Kingdoms) don't. |

Did you know that the pilot that flew the plane that dropped the bomb in Hiroshima committed suicide? If I'm not mistaken, several people who participated in that operation also ended up committing suicide. |

Tbh I love the myth though. I love medieval European history because of all the folklore culture with it's funny myths and stories. @DMR - Didn't know that either. If I had been ordered to do that idk what I would have done. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to push the button that would drop that bomb and I certainly wouldn't be able to live with myself after if I went through with it. But it gets in way of the important need-to-know stuff that you need to understand when first getting started. |

True. Some sources do make it clear what is fact and what isn't though. I was referring more to what people at the time believed. Like in Medieval Europe people believing in witchcraft and stuff. That sort of thing interests me, the bizarre things people thought were real I bet China has a whole wealth of folklore and supernatural frights

They didn't know how destructive the bomb was and once they saw what they did, they pretty much couldn't deal with it. Hanji such a dirty girl. |
