its a pain iny my ass that i cant talk back to my dad cause he's a giant baby who flips out whenever anyone talks back to him :kosho:

Our whole lives are just tiptoeing around him trying to make sure we dont set him off, for ****s sake we cant even tell him that he frequently leaves the stove on or forgets to close the fridge without him freaking the **** out and gets mad at us for pointing out his mistakes

Perhaps he needs counseling or anger management?

I have come across many of the similar types of people from what you described. I hope things mend for you man.

I am actually the same way as Scottie's dad...in a sense.

I used to be so bad that even the smallest piece of criticism would set me off, which in turn led me to quit doing things that I enjoyed.

I've gotten better at managing my anger, but I do still have my moments where something sets me off.

Sounds like my dad. He gets pissy over the dumbest of reasons. He refuses to accept anything anyone says, until he realizes it for himself...then he suddenly has a change of heart and starts blaming everyone else for not seeing it too (even though everyone has always pointed it out, whatever it may be).

ugh god same with mine
if he's proven wrong he wont admit it until two weeks later he'll bring it up acting like he thought that way all along it is so damn annoying, and he;ll lecture you about it acting like you weren't the one who told him in the first place

fathers are just such giant manchildren!

Admitting you're wrong after two weeks is at least better than never admitting you're wrong at all.

Or never taking responsibility for anything. :asia:

Here, here!

My dad once got so pissed off at everyone, even though the only one involved was my mom, but when he gets mad he just ignores everyone, even if you have no idea what he is mad about.

But he once got so pissed off because my mom decided to bathe my nephew (cause, kids need baths...obviously) and it was cold outside.

He refuses to turn the heater on, cause he is so worried about money all the time.

But because it was cold OUTSIDE and refused to turn the heater on INSIDE he got mad at everyone because my mom bathed my nephew (who needed a bath).

maybe i didn't phrase that right, he doesn't admit he was wrong, he just acts like he knew it all along and takes it on as like, his new, personal, philosophy, its really damn annoying.

I need to find a relevant Imagawa retainer. Does one such thing exist?
