They fixed it in Empires. The level was based on your weapon, not on your combo

:asia: People must not notice Guan Yinping doesn't have a husband in the games, and Diaochan isn't Lu Bu's wife.

Very pretty. I still haven't played DW6 yet. but Empires was good enough. Speaking of, I should Platinum it sometime

I liked the Renbu system. Should tweak it and bring it back. Problem was that levels were too empty for it to be truly effective.
Empty how?

The branch thing in DW6 was stupid too because there wasn't any actually branching. In the end, you're character still had the same stats and skills.

Koei should do an actual branching skill tree and then I'll be impressed. :asia:

My favorite thing about 6 - no invisible walls. You could jump off the top of Mt Ding Jun and fall straight down on a horse for like 2 minutes. Or you could jump off the horse mid-fall and jump-charge your way all the way to the bottom. So much freedom.

Climbing cliffs was fun too.

Renbu was so lame...I wouldn't mind if everything from DW6 came back, from mechanics to graphics (in fact, i'd prefer it. DW6 was pretty), as long as they leave Renbu out (and of course, leave the DW8 movesets in tact)

Easy Platinum: Stay as Vagrant in each Scenario, let one force conquer all land except one territory, join smaller force, wait until defensive battle then defect, instant scenario clear.

Get enough Gallery points from just scenario objectives to unlock everything in gallery.

Character battle ones are really easy.

I still haven't unlocked all the CAW parts.

Lu Xun had my favorite moveset in the game, wish they would bring that back

Look at the map, the game was practically go to base to base. Rare I fought enemies outside of said bases.

DW6 was hard for me. I've never understood the Renbu system.

Think I'm gonna play some when I get home.

Or maybe some Basara 2...

Yeah, there were very small groups of roaming enemies, they were all waiting for you in the bases, and the maps were so big it took a while to get from base to base (at least compared to how quickly renbu fell)

This dude is hilarious. He needs to be the official narrator for the next Warriors game.

Use Roan Wave Mount. Kept Renbu from falling.

In Empires, Renbu was fixed at max if wanted.

Empires was fun for the simple fact that Renbu didnt drop. DW6 would've been great if not for renbu and the clones. Even then, though, I still enjoyed DW7 and 8 better.

SW1 had a branching skill tree, it was impossible to buy all skills. You could only buy maybe 1/4

Renbu would never work in a Warrior game though, unless they made it so it only went down when you got hit, but that kind of defeats the purpose of continuous action
regardless the one of the goals of the series is large bbattlefields and short down times inbetween larger packs of enemies, that wont change its part of the eb and flow of the series

I would be all for renbu coming back if they try to make it less repetitive and more fun.

At least you can say for 6 it did try to innovate on a lot of things. It actually felt like a PS3 game, more than I can say for 7 and 8 really.

And agreed Black Lion, Lu Xun's DW6 sword slayed so much. I want it back for him, the current sabers suck.

Renbu dropping made sense. Kept you using chains and combos.

Empires was a bad patch fix that made playing the game more enjoyable but completely destroyed the point of renbu, i'd hardly say it fixed it

I thought Diao Chan's whip was best in 6. It seems to have got really weak and slow since

I really liked the whip on Zhen Ji actually. I know the flute is her signature weapon but I thought the whip went really nice with her 6 design.

In XL, they made it where you could get all the skills.

The point of renbu was pretty flawed from the beginning for the kind of game they were trying to make, so destroying that really wasn't a big loss

What WAS a big loss, was losing the new Meng Huo that 6 gave us
