When I was a kid I woke up at midnight with a roach in my face.

I grabbed it with my hand and threw it across the room.

I've never seen a roach in my life, do you only get them over there or something?

Or only in hot countries?

I imagine they tend to thrive more in hotter, probably more humid, climates. Like Florida. Florida is the worst.

It's strange, one of the doors in my room literally leads outside to the storm drain, yet I only see spiders running around here. No ants, no roaches, nothing. This is in spite of snacking and being lax in cleaning. I guess either the spiders are just amazing predators around here or the insects are scared of my scent.

Das... here?

Spiders are the worst though. Those frigging things need to go extinct like now. They are not nice and provide no benefit to us as far as I'm concerned. ew

In dinosaur times there were spiders as big as cars, they found a fossil of one.

They are disgusting with their skittish legs and webs that they spin in places you walk into them.

And birds too, they're just rude.

would you rather have ten spiders in your house or a thousand flies and mosquitoes?

Keep in mind one grouping can food poison your food and give you diseases, while the other just looks scary with a few exceptions.

Spiders are mostly bros. Unless you live in Australia, in which case, they're all demons.

Ughhhhhhhh...

Stupid cockroach.
Rolypoly is cuter.

I use to play with them when I was a kid with friends. My buddies and I would get our buckets and digg for roly poly at the playground. Good times.

If I remember correctly, insects are only so big because of gravity. If they got any larger, they wouldn't be able to move due to their exoskeletons being too heavy for them. Earth had less gravity, hence why insects were so big then.

when I was a kid, me and my cousins used to run around in my grandparents' backyard and collect grosshoppers. Now, I can't imagine touching the damn things...but when I was a kid, I would grab them like nothing.

Actually, not gravity- oxygen. There was more oxygen back then. This allowed larger insects to get enough oxygen to flow through their larger oxygen intake tubes. Close though DMR! :mori:

Also, did you know over 70% of the world population regularly eats insects?

Ohh, that's interesting. But my eyes weren't deceiving me, this was a 2 metre long spider fossil.

Maybe there was less gravity back then or something idk, I'm no physician

And here come all the spider photos, ya nasties, Jesus didn't die for this.

With that I'm going to bed, goodnight you seksi pints of beer.

Buzzkill with the save. Knew it was something like that, thought it was gravity though.

:sly: Everybody eats insects while they sleep though.

if i were to go and kill a spider, it'd have to be a fast kill...if i miss and it tries to stumble away from me all injured and ****, I start to feel so bad for it...and then I kill it anyway and feel like **** for the next hour....

:upset:

Most insects, in fact. Except roaches. Bumblebees especially, they are so cute.
