I remember those :kurokan:

Ugh, I know. I hope to gawd I don't run into a question concerning quadratic equations. And adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying my square roots too. Those two things of math have given me the most trouble this year.

That sucks Nigel :pat: Luckily, I don't have to go back to public school next year, probably at least.

@Crusader: In design there isn't much math needed. I was okay in math and actually quadratic equations aren't that bad once you practice it a few times.

My biggest problem with quadratic equations is figuring out how to factor them. If I knew how to factor it, this wouldn't be a problem

For the first one [x{2} + 3x - 4] you try to find two integers that add up to +3 but multiply into -4.

So start listing: -1x4, 1x-4. The answer should be -1 and 4. Because 4-1 = +3. So you start writing the numbers being multiplied into,

(x-1) (x+4)

Then to make sure it's absolutely correct you use the "Check" method. Aka: Actually multiplying it out.

(x+4)(x-1) = x(x-1) + 4(x-1)
= x{2} - x + 4x - 4
= x{2} + 3x - 4

If you get x{3} + 3x - 4 as the answer then it's right. And then you move onto the next question.

EDIT: If you're looking at the second one, 6x{2} − 2x = 0
You have to look for common factors of 6 & 2. Meaning one number that they have in common and can be multiplied together to equal both 6 and 2. The common factor would be 2. Because, 3x2 = 6 and 1 x 2 = 2.

This can be written as 2(3x{2} - x). Why? Because 2x3 = 6. Just add an x{2} and 2 * -x is basically 2 x 1 but just add x.

This tells you that you can factor it further so now you look for common factors in 2(3x{2} - x).

You would look for something that the equation can still be divided into. That would be x. Because you can take out an x because there's x{2} and x. Once you've taken the x's you write it out like this,

2x(3x -1) The 2 has an x because it's a factor taken out. Just like a 2 was a common factor taken out.

Now the factors are, 2x, 3x and -1. Creating a trinomial.

Er...yeah I don't find Algebra important.

Also girls normally get harassed by guys because men are stupid. Most don't have impulse control. They think that they can do whatever they want and think the woman SHOULD like it. Women are basically taught all the wrong things and guys basically get the, "Boys will be boys" lesson instead of actually getting taught of what they should not do to a woman. Women are taught to avoid things and be kind of suspicious of men.

Women are generally viewed weaker too so they tend to get picked on because Men then that they're "easy" and that they will "Always say yes and will listen to what I say because i'm the man." It's an old way of thinking that needs to stop.

EDIT: Man I should really get to bed....

I don't really know many men who are that extreme tbh. I hear it a lot in the media (especially in hip-hop culture) and maybe in like older men I know.

My Dad isn't particularly "new man", he's not politically correct. That said though he would never abuse a woman, I know he wouldn't.
