Just makes it seem that genderbending is transphobic or I'm understanding it wrong.

More gender/international talk '3')

There is nothing wrong with Genderbending until someone starts to be an ignorant asshole and starts to insult the whole subject.

I genderbent my friend o3o.

i dont think it is, just bad terminology i guess

cause gender and sex different and stuff,
like ok ex were you to literally genderbend somone technically their sex wouldn't change just the gender, so what they did to wei yan should be like, gender and sexbending or whatever, people called it rule 63 for ahiwle i think but then that started offending somone i dont know

its a really technical thing where poeple make a big deal about terminology i dont really see the point in it tbh.

Technically "sex" is the physical sex you were born as.

"Gender" is what you identify as, it's a self-classification

That's the difference. People use them interchangeably though so much that most people don't even realise there's a difference.

Terminology is kind of a label. It's the point where people start contridicting themselves saying by they don't like labels but yet they identify as a Trans-Man or Trans-woman.

I think people are just being extremely sensitive at the point if they think that genderbending seems offensive. I don't see where genderbending and transphobia crosses though....er...wait I see it.

Since Wei-Yan is historically scribed as a cis-male, suddenly changing the sex would get people all butthurt because people will go like, "BUT WEI YAN IS A MAN NOT A WOMAN." kind of thing. Then they go all out ranting on how it's wrong to change someone's biological sex blah blah blah blah blah.
I believe that's where transphobia came into this.

I don't get hardcore into sex and gender. It still confuses me.

Honestly I wish gender roles and classifications didn't even exist. I just wish everyone could be their own person without having to "protect their masculinity" or "act like a proper lady"
i've always though masculine and feminine qualities were a bunch of bull, there's no science behind it
and sexism in general would be decreased so much

Whoa. Where did this giant Oda roster come from?! Mitsuhide, Nagamasa, Hideyoshi, Magoichi, Katsuie, Toshiie, Oichi, Noh, Nene, and that's still missing a few more.

Well your sex is what you're born as biologically, gender is a social construct, it's what you identify and think of yourself as

I'm just male, both sex and gender, born it and identify as it

Pretty much this. I wish we didn't have to identify ourselves by gender as well, but eh :/ We could always start a movement to make people stop judging others by gender. If there happens to be some crackdown that goes into occurrence, then maybe people will stop using genders to identify people. Key words: if and maybe.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've been told all my life to act more "lady like". I hate it. It's like, "No why can't I act like that?"
Men are people, women are people, alot of us are people last time I checked. I'm sure people can act similarly, without having specific gender roles.

The only thing determining masculine qualities is like chivalry or something like that. Femininity would be innocence. I think that's as far as we need to get into the description of those two words. It still doesn't make sense however as we all have had those moments. Though men had been shown to have more chivalry it doesn't mean that no one else can.

Without all these gender roles we would have less stress on ourselves too.

I think having no gender roles is very idealistic though unfortunately. There are important biological differences with sex, men can't birth children, women can't get certain illnesses men can get and vice versa. Gender identity is also very important to people, it's very ingrained on our psychology.

I'd be all for a society where gender roles aren't so important and we are getting there. Realistically though I don't think they'll ever be gone completely.

As for the rest of your post VPZ, nothing's going to happen about gender racism and whatnot if we don't do something. Sitting on our laurels talking about it on the net will do us little good. Good thing that petition was made :mori: I'm more concerned about what will happen if it doesn't work.

That makes more sense when described like that.

I literally wish I can have two names in English. (already have 2 Korean names) One male name and one female. Some days I feel female, some days male, some days both. Gender neutral pronouns need to exist in English too. In a few Asian languages, there's no gender specified pronouns. We just use "they".

@DMR: Cis means you're born as that sex and you dress/act like that sex is supposed to. I think it also has to do with identifying as a male in gender too. It kind of also means that you are straight. Meaning societal views of that sex and you involuntarily fit into it.
