it just adds a little more depth to difficulty, yes it can get annoying when you have to switch weapons but imo its better than just constantly slashing through people without worrying about anything.

dw7 ultimate difficulty was still so easy

DW7:

1. Cloned characters
2. Story Mode stages are restricted to one character.
3. Recycled maps from DW6
4. Less characters than DW8

How can you say conquest mode is a lot to offer when you can basically complete the stages in 2 minutes? The "extra" stages for each characters added nothing, they were just fillers so that the map can be filled with more crap.

DW8

1. Everything brand new
2. De-cloned characters
3. Story mode can be played with 2-4 choices of characters
4. MORE characters than DW7.
5. Almost all characters had a role in Story Mode
6. MORE features - RAGE MODE, 2 EX ATTACK, EXTRA MUSOU

Shosei mode didnt offer much but it gave you the chance to farm materials to make your weapons stronger - MORE REPLAYABILITY - especially if you want your favourite characters to wield stronger weapons. Also gave you rewards for completing certain amount of stages unlike Conquest Mode which gave you NOTHING.

With all that said, DW7 = more replayability?

LMFAO.

DW7 also had that garbage stat drop system that needs to never ever return. I do not look at DW7 with a lot of fondness.
OH GOD YOU JUST REMINDED ME OF THAT THING.

WHY DID THEY EVEN BRING THAT BACK FROM DW5.

Such a huge cast is much better with a normal sane level up system.

I'm thinking DW8 Zhao Yun is the best Zhao Yun design. Beforehand I just loved DW3's.
DW8 Zilong is absolutely fantastic.
And his moveset in XL has never been better!

Like I'm a perfectionist in Warriors games where I have to max EVERY character. And maxing characters in DW7 was just such a headache. It took like 2 days to max out 1 character. No thank you.

How many hours would it even take to max everyone out? Don't think I did it since like DW2.

Character's EX weapon can't juggle? Smack on the bow and hack away.

Took me a couple hours to max out most characters. Spammed Lu Bu's halberd trick and played those arena and DLC stages, got all of those +10, especially on DW2 Hulao Gate DLC.

Then DW7XL came around and let you just buy upgrades instead, but by then I was already done. So all I had to do was buy like...100 more for the new cap.

I literally never said Conquest Mode had a lot to offer. In fact, it's quite the contrary. I actually think the majority of extra modes in Warriors games are incredibly tedious.

DW8 was great in it's own way, but after playing SW4, I'm starting to notice how jarring it is.

Tbh, the jarring gameplay in the current DW game(s) just makes it really hard to like anything about that game. The affinity system was alright, there were ways to avoid being wiped out easily by switching weapons, But then once you're just about done with story mode in DW8, it just starts to get very tedious and boring, even worse than Conquest Mode.

Ambition Mode and Conquest Mode both suck. Heck, all the extra modes in Warriors games suck. But DW7 was still better because it didn't have the affinity system. I never completely played through DW6 so I can't really be bothered by them recycling maps.

Ofc, we are all entitled to our own opinions, so I'm not going to bother arguing with you about this

Ambition mode could have been alright with more random elements, something more akin to the old Xtreme Modes. Was a shame to find out it wasn't.

Yeah, Destiny Mode was probably the only extra mode in a Warriors game I actually cared for. Can't say the same for the other ones though

Yeah, probably the best extra mode really.

I always had a soft spot for Xtreme mode as well, but Destiny mode offered something new.
Plus I'd liked the Create an Officer in SW1 and it just felt like an improvement on that
