WHICH ONES ARE THE BEST?

I like the Pokemon Black/White male, original May (Gen 3 female) and the Firered/Leafgreen protags.

parental lock on until 16

Seeing all that kind of stuff just desensitizes you, which I think is a good thing.

I don't think we're on the same level of darkness.

the ones on the far right are the best, because they have cooler outfits.

I'd be terrified to raise a kid in this kind of time. Forget that I don't have money or that I'm pretty young, it's that with everything going on, how much can someone shield a kid? How much before it becomes to extreme? It's just scary

Touko a best.
The fact that you have to refer to it as darkness just shows that you aren't desensitized to it.

I meant like gore. Why is it good for kids to be exposed to people having their heads chopped off?

What's considered dark though? I've never ever come across anything really disturbing other than ruto porn today lol that's the worst I've ever seen :(
I've been lucky with my web browsing, I've never seen anything I shouldn't or had some creepy virus.
well, except for the unwanted ruto tumblr porn

This is one of the few topics in which I actually disagree with Ran-chan. I feel like a problem with society nowadays is that parents don't actually parent their kids. They just let them do whatever the hell they want and then complain about society or politics when their kids end up becoming f'd up druggies with high school preggers/a knocked up girlfriend or alternately turn into f'd up people in general.

I feel that the Internet is one area in which the government should not regulate excessively but which parents should monitor their kids on closely. So yeah, I think parents should be monitoring their teenagers on the Internet until they reach like 15/16. Even after that, parents should probably still check in with their kids.

I wish Mr. Honda was on right now because, given he's a parent, he might be able to shed some interesting thoughts/experiences on the matter.

I guess it depends on the parent and the kid, some kids run into trouble online accidently through naivety , others know what their doing, too grown up for their own age and therefore don't want their parents knowing what's going on, honestly Jake I think your generation of 16/17 year olds is the final generation to have been restricted and looked after online, from now on kids will be acting like 20 year olds because it happens too often and eventually it's just gonna be a lifted law because it'll be outta control.

It definitely depends on the individual. Some people can probably browse the Internet freely and end up fine. Others might become seriously screwed up from it though, I feel.

I don't know what could screw you up though, it's not like the internet controls you, I mean sure a 12 year old innocently writing in pokemon in google search could find pictures that aren't appreciated that some creep has made but surely they would just be like "OMG OMG BAD BAD" rather than "mummy I need help"

I was a late bloomer with the internet, didn't get it connected in my house till I was 16 and at college lmao.

When I have kids, I'm going to make sure that every computer has a parental lock on it. I'm gonna do my best to parent them so I might be able to make this generation a little brighter :D

I suppose it's because I'm drawing too much on my own experience (as my parents have left me to my own devices for years when it comes to being on the computer). I guess I like to push my agenda of being stoic too much. Running into all that stuff didn't affect me, but I shouldn't assume the same would happen to others.

Aside from the usual catalog of horrors such as furry, vore, gore, porn, etc. that accompanies the internet...

What about kids having conversations with strangers that they don't know? I feel like this can lead to some very dangerous and sketchy circumstances. myspace was all too well known as a pedo haven when I was growing up and I feel like there's potential for social media in general to lead to disturbing outcomes for children.

The Internet allows people to get all kinds of information and also to talk to people all over the world. Not all of it is healthy for kids in my opinion.

I have this little understanding with my parents that they like trust me to what I do on the internet and shite. They know I won't do anything that'll get me in trouble. Although there have been instances where my Mom or some other family member would embarrass me on FB, and that's the reason why I don't go on FB anymore and spend the majority of my time on the internet here or reading articles or looking up cheats for video games or smth.

I trust myself and my parents enough to know that I won't get into anything bad, and if I do I tell them immediately or figure it out myself.

Your fears and suspicions are true, I'm afraid. I've ran into some creeps on Omegle and I've seen my friends on social media get harassed by creeps too. That's another reason why I tend to stay as far away as possible from those things.

Yes talking to strangers I completely agree with, children aged 13 and under shouldn't be allowed on social networks because of how dodgy people can be.

After the age of like 14-15 it must be a rare occurrence for someone to bump into a shady person online and go along with it, I'm very aware of how the creeps out there can manipulate a childs mind into believing certain things are okay, that same sort of manipulation wouldn't happen to 14-15 year olds I don't think because they know how things work, they've learnt all that, they are more with it and know what they are getting themselves into.

Creeps aren't as smart as you think Weave, and if they are they are probably rapists or smth.

Creeps will usually blatantly ask you to do something inappropriate for them instead of manipulating you like they got some plan or smth. They aren't as smart as people think.
