Coin rubbing is the way to go when I'm sick.

A family member or someone takes a coin and rubs it on your back until you bruise like hell. It was pretty painful back when I was a kid.

That sounds horrifying.
I mean it's not my culture so maybe it's wrong to criticize but... how... does that even help...? Scientifically speaking.

Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing.

I don't think anyone in my family has done it for years though. It does look pretty horrifying.

Some people still do that...I remember my grandma did.

EDIT: Now it's done softly on the face. Some girls do it. Just not as painful as you think. You can do it with your hands to stimulate blood flow on your face and reduce dark circles and redness.

Us Jews have several cures:

-Eat matzah ball soup. This is always the first priority. "jewish penicillin"

-The cold bucket cure. You put your feet in cold ice water and it's so cold you forget about whatever malady or injury you have because you're focused on your cold feet.

-The tea with honey and lemon cure.

-Pray (this one doesn't work)

Nah, you won't be bleeding out. You'll just be left with red bruises. It'll be gone tomorrow or the next day.

In my culture it is known to get the "bad wind" which is the cause of the illness to get out of the body when your sick.

Here a pic how a Cambodian would do it
Spoiler: click to toggle

Well, that is how my family and other family friends do theirs too.

But damn looking at google images, there are some crazy ass looking ones.

Chinese has a few more than just gua sha. Everyone knows about acupuncture though. That stuff actually works.

There's also herbal tea. (not the jasmine tea crap and all that) I mean legit black kind with like bugs and everything. (You can't even taste any of that to be honest) Yes it is called tea. (It's usually bitter but it is not that bad) It's also not something over the counter.
Sometimes the herbs are used to make great healthy soups. They're savory and mixed with veggies and meat. (sometimes fruit.)

There's also those things with bubbles. Like suction. Usually offered at acupuncture clinics.

The boiled egg on bruises. A granny used a ring instead of coin though....

There's also wine...and this...kind of thin paper...I don't know what it's called but it was super annoying. They rub it n affected area i think.... (My memory is fuzzy on this one cos i really don't exactly know what it was for)

There's also ginger on the stomach. Slice some ginger and boil it then place it on the stomach. It helps with stomach aches. Yes the ginger has to be hot. It helps by taking the cool air out of the stomach.

Mischevy I agree with you, google gave some pretty harsh images.

I like to fart repeatedly and without cease whenever I'm in the car (usually with the windows open). That way whenever I get to where I'm going, I don't really have to worry about gas for the rest of the day. This is particularly important when going to school, as the only real "safe zone" there is in the bathrooms.

Did you really say that I needed you? Haha. I work alone, I do everything alone. I don't need anyone. I'm carrying the work all on my own, and I have the best sales numbers in the store.
