Among the DWs, SWs, DWGs, and WOs (And probably Bladestorm), what would you consider as the top 5 best Koei stages of all time as of now? Could they be because of the situation, where you are swarmed with enemies as far as the eye can see? Is it because of proper music placement? Or is it because you feel they are just epic? State your reasons, and remember, this ranges from all the 5 main titles of the Koei library, and all the sequels and Xtreme Legends in between. I'll give my list sometime later, when I'm not sleepy and can actually remember. In the meantime, knock yourself out. |

1: Dramatic Mode Stage 40: Koshi Castle (Musou Orochi Z) I've played it only once, but it was sure as hell the most entertaing battle I've played of all Musou games. Various Dynasty and Samurai warriors encircle Koshi Castle and only you can stop them! Best part is that Orochi Theme (my favorite Warriors game theme) plays on it the whole stage! What more can I ask from this stage? It's pure epicness!2: Hu Lao Gate: Lu Bu scenario (Shin Sangokumusou 5) It's bascially Lu Bu vs every other "major" opponent! Plenty of people to kill, and it's even tough when your character is maxed out! And the ending is just glorious where everyone surrounds you and you hopefully pwn the all 3: Wei Stage 16/8: Battle of Guan Du (Orochi Z/Orochi 2) Kinda like the other two except you have everyone going against the final foe. The 3 rulers and the "leader" of the Sengoku faction plus a mystic taking down Orochi ( ) once and for all!. Plus, that thing where you have to go through each base by base is pretty neat4: Wu Zhang Plains: Shu Scenario (I think?) (Shin Sangokumusou 5) I love the stage. The scenery, the scenario, the BG music. And there's plenty of ups and down in the stage Also, it never hurts to pwn Cao Cao in that stage XD5: Nene's Dream Stage: Sekigahara (Samurai Warriors 2) Who wouldn't think this is hilariously awesome? Nene slowly taking down and taking control of the whole battle and them scolding them at the end of it

Oh Crimson, you're so biased towards the Serpent Man Anyways, no particular order: -Siege of Osaka-Summer(Samurai Warriors): What can i say about this stage? It's layout is confusing, the odds are really against you, Yukimura's resolve to at least kill Ieyasu, the Sanada-maru, the Tokugawa cannons, the final battle against Hanzo...all just a warm up for one of the best endings i've ever seen in a Warriors game. -Battle of Hu Lao Gate: Lu Bu's Scenario(Dynasty Warriors 6): Everyone gets pissed at Lu Bu and decide to pwn him with their combined might...or so the think. You don't only own them once, but TWICE and in hyper mode...just to watch a really crazed Lu Bu asking for MORE. -Dance of Kyoto/Ise/Osaka/Kawanakajima/Azuchi Castle(Samurai Warriors): Her whole story is fun and the stages are done really good...and couple that with the bazillion "Dreams and illusions" endings she had... -Battle of He Fei Castle: Wu Scenario(Dynasty Warriors 6): Okay, apart from my apathy for Wu, this stage had: a) Awesome music. b)Really nice/confusing layout. and c) The belt trap, my favorite part of the map. Oh and the siege it's good too... -Battle of Itsukushima(Warriors Orochi 2/ Musou Orochi Z): Hmmm, i just love the feeling of being hopeless at the beginning of the battle, and the race to get to the Altar of the Sea Dragon, just to see the Taira-Lu Bu Coalition fall, with Lu Bu himself retreating. 9999+ points for "God's Island" |

1-Battle of Hei Fei Castle(DW6,Wei)-Just is so awesome. So awesome. 2-Yellow Turban Rebellion(DW4,Yellow Turbans)-It's better than DW6's Hu Lao Gate IMO.Crazed turban wearing people>Lu Bu forces. 3-Battle of Yamatai(WO2,Wei)-I love the BGM.Also a great battle. 4-Battle of Nagashino(SW2,Oda)-Horsey go boom. 5-Battle of Nanman(DW3,Shu)Best of all of the Nanman stages. I suppose adding my opinions in wouldn't hurt.. 1- Komaki-Negakute SW2: Hashiba Army: The stage starts out with the Ikeda army charging ahead and mission time is money. If you fail to save them, Inahime will become powered up, and Tadakatsu will be more difficult to KO. I play this scenario a little.. Too much. xD 2- Siege of Azuchi Castle: SWXL Hideyoshi's chapter: Pure chaos on chaos. Hideyoshi leads a rebellion against Oda Nobunaga after eliminating the Mori and is not satisfied: Leading an army trapped in the middle of the Oda-Saika army crossifre, and maitaining morale can be challenging if your allies fall quickly. The traps in the infiltration are still fun to jump around though. 3- Toyotomi Hideyoshi's SW2 Sekigahara Gaiden Stage: Hideyoshi-dono... Revived from the grave! Hideyoshi settles the score with Ieyasu one last time and rescues Mitsunari in his time of need. The defection of Yoshihiro and Ginchiyo makes the stage more dramatic and aiding morale isn't a problem. This stage makes one lady happeh. ![]() 4- Komaki-Negakute: SWXL Tadakatsu's chapter: This is probably a challenging scenario when finishing the mission(s) quickly and all you can KO all the peons you want until you knock out Hideyoshi in the end.. For some reason. 5- MO2: Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu's dramatic mode! It's a clash between the Sengoku Unifiers of Japan and the Rulers of the Three Kingdoms! ..Not to mention it's very difficult to soar in Chaos.. What more could you ask in Musou Orochi?

Tadakatsu's bottom 4th Kawanakjima stage. Massive enemies, perfect stage progression, cool character. Don't really have a 2-5, heh. Edited by Mizzle, Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:09 am.

1. Yamatai in Warriors Orochi 2: One of the major reasons I love this stage is the music but the awesome doesn't end there. I love the map and its big and full of officers to kill and with that awesome music playing. Wonderful <3 2. Okuni's Kawanakajima stage in SW1: Okuni versus two armies and the ability to become infatuated with the commanders leads to one of the most hilarious hack & slash sprees ever. 'Oh that lord Yukimura, what a stallion of a man ~<3' 3. Hanging Gardens in DW Gundam as any of the Paptimus team: They are my favorite team in the game and this is their best stage. With some great interactions and lots of enemies to beat up. 4. He Fei Castle in DW 6: I love the castle stages and this one has some really fun traps and the design is really awesome as well. 5. Anegawa in SW 1: I had a lot of trouble deciding on this one but I decided to give it to Anegawa because of the awesome music. The track on this stage is my all time favorite Koei bgm. |

That's a hard choice... DW4 - Yellow Turbans Rebellion I can play this stage over and over again without getting bored of it. I guess I originally liked it because I thought it's ideal to power up low leveled characters. SW1 - Seige of Osaka-Summer Awesome stage! I played it so much that I still remember all of Yuki's quotes! The odds are against you, the missions are terrific, it's long and also alot of troops to own. DW4 - Battle of Guan Du I like the amount of troops in this stage, it's always fun to beat Yuan Shao's butt in any KOEI game ![]() SW2 - Battle of Odawara (Can't remember which one, it's the big one where you can't play with the Hojo side) This is a stage I played over and over and over and over again in SW2. I pretty much love it, reason would go to the high troops number. DW4- Battle of Nanman (The one with Wu, can't exactly remember the name) Nanman stages FTW! I totally love this stage, easily one of my very favourite stages ever. I also loved that long one against Shu but I thought this one is better. It was hard to come up with those, and harder to come up with the reasons so I don't think I can compare those and rank em, sorry. Also I think Kessen stages should get a tackle in. |

Not really in order... 1.) Wu 6-X: Osaka Bay aka "Keiji's Capture" (Warriors Orochi) Despite my constant nags of how IRRITATING Lu Meng got during the POUND THE DRUM missions, I really liked the set up of this level and the challenge if offered, especially when you didn't have Red Hare/Matsukaze. It certainly made unlocking him well worth the effort, I felt. Also, the interaction scenes between characters is hilarious; approach Lu Meng with Sakon and Ranmaru, for example. 2.) Wu Zhang Plains, Shu side (Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4) Taunting Sima Yi has never been more enjoyable, and it's just so easy to DO! Both levels offer the player the chance to approach Sima Yi with ANY character and doing a unique little taunt. Also, for DW3, I loved the challenge and set up of the level. It's gotten way too easy now, and this is coming from someone that's not a hardcore challenge player. 3.) Nanman Campaign, Shu and Wu side (Dynasty Warriors 3) CLASSSSIC. The HUGE map and set up of the level were great, and I enjoyed all of the interactive cut scenes with Meng Huo. Both sides were pretty much the same, so I enjoyed it both times. Like Wu Zhang Plains, they just don't make this level like they used to. 4.) Azuchi Castle, Hideyoshi's final stage on lower branch (Samurai Warriors XL) Normally, I hate castle runs at the end of a stage, but I just LOVED this stage too much to let that bother me. The story, the set up and challenge moved me and really put the loveable Hideyoshi in a darker light. I kind of like the whole tragedy of it all, going through your allies and, well... having to kill them all. I'm dark and emo, leave me alone. Also liked the small hint of Hideyoshi/Oichi they had there... 5.) Honnouji, Masamune's side (Samurai Warriors) This sums up ALL of Masamune's levels in SW1, actually. I enjoyed fighting two sides at once and just mucking things over for the opposing sides. Honnouji was my favorite stage, fighting against Nobunaga and Mitsuhide at the same time, and having to keep your officers alive as well (not sure if that was a stage requirement or a weapon requirement). I hope in SW3, they bring this aspect back for a few levels. It's what made Masamune absolutely enjoyable for me. |

DW4 WU: Yellow Turban Menace The fire spouts in the enemy camp are awesome. I personally had no trouble evading them, but I loved to push my enemies into the flames. SW1 NOBUNAGA's Story: Siege of Inabayama Castle Hideyoshi's dance at Sunomata Castle is funny! I like Noh's sibling rivalry with Yoshitatsu. The traps in the castle have plenty of bombs! Yay, bombs! DW Advance WEI (Xiahou Dun): Battle of Chi Bi I like how Guan Yu just kills them all in one blow in the cutscenes. He kills all the officers immediately, and works his way up until he kills Yuan Shao. SW1 RANMARU's Story: Battle of Anegawa I like when Mitsuhide dies. Then, Ranmaru yells "Nooooooooooo", but sounds like a rooster crowing "cock-a-doodle-doo"! That is perhaps the funniest thing in Samurai Warriors. SW1 NOBUNAGA's Story: Battle of Honnouji Who can't love this stage? The dialogue between Ranmaru and Nobunaga is dramatic. The plot is epic. Noh turning against Nobunaga is the kick-in-the-pants event that is a perfect example of their warped love for each other. |

1. SW1 Osaka Castle(Summer) Possibly one of my favorite stages in SW1, one reason being just how huge and epic a stage it is. Complete with cannons, Sanada-Maru, trekking halfway across the goddamn map, and the epic showdown with Hanzo. That and there are some awesome scenes in it, particularly Yukimura going on "The Last Ride" before his death. 2. SWXL Komaki-Nagakute Tadakatsu's Chapter This is Tadakatsu's defining stage in SWXL and it shows just how quietly badass Tadakatsu is. That and it's one massive hack-'n'-slash spree. Clearing Komakiyama Fort is possibly the best part of the stage, and it's so damn fun to. 3. SW2 Edo Castle Yoshihiro's Chapter This is the epic win stage of the game, for the sole reason that the Shimazu clan turns on everyone else and it becomes a Royal Rumble for the land. Some oddly epic stuff for an SW2 stage. |

Wow, what a hard topic. I'd say these spring to mind as the most memorable to me, but I love so many more! Not in order - SW1's Osaka Summer Campaign Epic and emotional music, in fact the stage relies on mixed emotions. Yukimura loses faith at the start, but gradually his spirit shines and ends with an epic ending. The best ending I've seen in a Warriors KOEI game to date. Yes, he was and is still my favorite Samurai Warriors character, but I try not to let that cloud my vision from what's a fantastic scenario. DW3's Hu Lao Gate Just down to Lu Bu, really. Wonderful music and is there solely for the challenge. DW3's Battle of He Fei Great music, great interactable scenes, awesome start to the stage due to the number of officers in the middle duel, and a challenge. This would likely be my number 1 actually. DW3's Siege of He Fei Great music, mass slaughtering, morale changes throughout and a big challenge. Not forgetting the various traps. DW6's may be awesome indeed, the belt trap is, and the music fitting - but 3's just has the upperhand thanks to the scenes and challenge. SW2 Xtreme Legends Okehazama An amusing battle due to Yoshimoto's foolishness - he takes a nap! This level is busy (what I like, I like eventful levels more.) It never gets boring listening to Nobunaga and his laughing, taking on Ieyasu and his officers, and in my top 10 favorite KOEI music pieces of all-time, no doubt. And also, killing Yoshimoto is my number 1 hobby. Edited by LittleDragonZ, Wed Apr 1, 2009 2:15 pm.

1. DW6 Hu Lao Gate, Lu Bu side. It mainly comes down to the second encounter with the coalition. This is where all the fun comes into play because you are handling a large amount of officers and peons at once which can give you a lot of time to get KO points within seconds. 2. DW5: XL, Husbands and Wives. Seriously, this is an entertaining stage to play due to the amount of petty arguements and cheap insults between the women especially from the Qiao's. How adorable can they get? 3. SW2: Nene's Dream: Melee at Sekigahara. This was an interesting stage to play because you have to deal with the all sorts of enemies including 3rd party enemies which makes the whole battle more intense. It's enjoyable watching Nene going around scolding everybody until the end of battle. I loved the end cutscene. 4. DW6 He Fei Castle, Wei side. This is a great weapon farming stage for Chaos players since all you have to do is rush down to Sun Quan and kill him. 5. WO2, Dream stage 1. Since this had majority of my favorite characters into one stage, this has become one of my personal favorite stages to play. You also get a good amount of interaction between characters and enemies to kill too which makes it funnier. |

1. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 and 10: Special missions > The battle of Red Cliff (Chibi) The sea and and fire battle and the events GORGEOUS! 2. Samurai Warriors 2 (Don't remember the stage name anymore, was it kotomaki something... cant' remember xD) That stage was amazingly designed and I really like how they used it again in Musou Orochi, the stage when Sun Ce rescue his father, amazing. 3. Samurai Warriors 1 (English version! This got 3rd place because of the funny dub the English voices did) Yukimura's final stage, when he got into the castle (as a mission) the captain says... ITS DOESN'T MATTER WHAT HE SAID! ITS FUNNY XD his tune and how he tried to act like a Japanese speaking English, what a stupid scene but it is one of my favourite. 4. Dynasty Warriors WHATEVER! Huo Lao Gate, that is still my FAVOURITE story (history) of all time. The whole "world" was in a pile of mess and that was when things got really really interesting. Not to count the fiction character Diao Chan and the brain combined with Wong Wan (The old guy who adopted Diao Chan) Totally amazing and how they never forget about this stage but it would have been so much better if Dynasty Warriors followed the story line too. Which means, screw si shu gate and have Wa Shun battle against 3 generals then Guan Yu cut his head off without moving a muscle then it would be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111 5. Dynasty warriors 4, Yi ling the BEST of the BEST stage ever because Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao jumped into the battle and kicked my ass all the time even when I was using Lu Bu I still got my ass kicked by these beauties. xD |

DW4-Battle of Xu Chang- The music was epic and it truely felt like this was te battle to end all battles Lu Bu's Offensive-The endless amount of enemies was great DW6-He Fei Castle-The traps, the design, the music. Everything. DW3-Guan Du-I loved how freakin' massive Guan Du Castle was. And the supply depot being in different places of the map. DW3-Hu Lao gate-I loved the design and the voices in this were funny. Yuan Shao "Sun Jian go straight ahead. Cao Cao go to the top of the Fan Shui Gate. Yuan Shu you attack from the rear!" Soldier-"I..I.t's LU BUUU!" Lu Bu-(slashes an enemy) "GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!" (slashes another enemy) Yuan Shao "Don't pursue Lu Bu" Edited by Magma, Sun Jun 7, 2009 3:22 pm.

1. Battle of Wu Zhang Plains (Doesn't matter which DW game): The classic finisher of DW, Sima Yi vs Zhuge Liang. Often played with Wei, just simply adore this level. 2. Komaki-Nagakute, SW:XL: Doesn't matter which side really, there is always a lot of people to slaughter. Also, I like the entries of a couple of characters. Magoichi and Keiji for the Hashiba army, and the heroic entry of Tadatsugu Sakai. 3. Battle of Bowan Po (Can't remember how it was spelled): This was such a fun battle to do! Follow Zhuge Liang's strategies correctly and totally ruin the Wei forces. First a fire attack, than 2 ambushes, than a fire attack on the supply depot! 4. Battle of Hu Lao Gate (DW6, Lu Bu side): So many people to throw your skills on, and as a desert, everyone returns for another beating! Provides an awesome challenge if you're running it on Chaos mode. 5. Battle of Kawanakajima (Doesn't matter what SW game): The epic Kenshin vs Shingen battle. Can't really explain more about it. |

In no particular order: Siege of Osaka Castle (SW1) - This battle was simply breathtaking. I've never seen another Warriors stage with the same level of atmosphere this one had. The elements were perfect: music, toned-down colors, layout, etc. I've never seen a battle more epic than this one. Nanman Campaign (DW4) - This one seems to be a thorn in a lot of people's sides, but I loved every minute of it. The Nanman forces were just ridiculously fierce, and the Shu army had to fight for every inch of ground. Troops just got decimated and there was never a lull. Very exciting, and the music was great. Battle of Hu Lao Gate (DW6) - When I first heard about this stage, I resisted the praise and adoration this battle drew. Then I actually played it, and immediately fell in love with it. The Lu Bu vs the rest of China concept was ridiculous to some extent, but it doesn't matter. The fact that you're a whirlwind that goes tearing through the best the land has to offer puts a smile on my face every time. I only wish they would've put more time between this battle and his previous ones, so that the enemy forces could've recruited more officers and attacked you with the rest of the DW6 roster. Siege of Edo Castle (SW2) - Doesn't matter which scenario; this one's terrific in any of them. The layout is great; castle in the dead center, forts to the south, and open terrain in the north. This one has a desperation vibe to it (though, not as powerful as SW1 Osaka). I wish one of the Tokugawa officers would've had this as a stage, so that I could defend Edo and my favorite clan, but no matter. It's a great battle regardless. Battle of Wu Zhang Plains (DW3) - My personal favorite battle of DW3 pitted the two most brilliant strategists against one another, and all hell would break loose as soon as the battle started. The sheer mass of advancing enemy troops provided for a terrific time, and the music made slaughtering a horde of soldiers somehow inspirational. I also appreciated how Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang exchanged blows (with their tactics). All of the incarnations of this stage have been good, but this one is at the top of the ladder. |

Emm well, it is hard to give reasons, there are a lot of things that i like just cause i like them, i cannot explain well why. O.O -Battle of Nagashino, i don't know, probably i was very interested on that battle cause it was the first time a japanese army used rifles. -Battle of Sekigahara, probably cause it is the most important battle of Samurai Warriors games. -Battle of Mikatagahara, it is very interesting how Ieyasu try to scape while Takeda forces try to stop him. -Battle of Anegawa, a love Anewaga music from SW 1, i cannot explain well why i like this battle, but it is probably cause it was a very exciting battle on SW 1. -Battle of Hu Lao Gate, i always liked it, it is always very exciting to fight against Lu Bu, and i think this is the best stage to do it.
