This game is a huge improvement to its predessesor. There is a lot less repitition this time, thank God. I don't know what else to say for fear of spoiling it for anyone.

However, if there ever comes an argument over who's the cooler assassin I'm sticking to Altaïr.
Your right. AC2 is a huge improvement than AC1. I felt limited in some areas in that game, but in AC2, you can pretty much travel anywhere. ;) Killing guards is the fun part for me.

The Armor of Altaïr is so badass.

I love how you can get different outfits and weapons. And the collectables are actually worth something now.

I BEAT ASSASSIN'S CREED II

IMPOSSIBLE!!! :OMG: For me, this is one of the longest games i have ever played in my life. I am still on the mid-part of the game (i don't even have time to beat it because of other things i have to do.) But sadly i don't think i will ever beat it. :/

This game feels longer as a FF game, but maybe i found it to be a bit hard than i expected. O well, i tried.

It Was Incredibly Awesome..!
And Yet It Became My Favorite Video Game........

And About AC2
MAN, it Got Released Almost Everywhere....
But I Can't Find It In My Country -_-
It Seems I'll Have To Wait

BTW,
Altair Is Looking More Badass Than Ezio :meantongue:
And I'll Like Him More Than Ezio.....

I really loved Assassin's Creed & the whole idea of doing what you want when you want. The weapon & fighting systems were amazing and so different. I'm hoping that I get Assassin's Creed II for mah birthday tomorrow & continue the adventure. -_-

I should've rented this game from blockbuster first. My second day with this game and I'm watching the credits roll....wtf what a waste of $60.

^It took me two days to beat also. And the fact you can't replay certain memory sequences almost kills the replay value. But I still play around fghting guards and stuff.

Two days huh? That's a bit short. I was going to buy this (pre-owned anyway) but I guess a rental will do.

^The game isn't really short, out of the two days I spent playing it was pretty much all day long. But if you're not a big fan of the series then I'd say rent it, cause there isn't a lot to do once you beat it and if you want to do story missions you'd have to start over. But its still good for a few run throughs, in my opinion.

I was surprised to realize how good this game was when I beat it recently. It's not as repetitive as the first one, in fact, I wouldn't say it's repetitive at all. There are just so many things you could do in the game, and the ending was more of a cliffhanger than the first. I was expecting it to be good, but this is just a huge improvement, they only need the third and final installment to wrap things up and the game will definitely be an unforgettable experience. Of course, they're already making more expansions for the game, but it's the main trilogy that will lay the foundation of the franchise if they're planning on making more games.

It's a decent game with a gripping plot, and in the end, its qualities overshadow its flaws.

They gave it a "movie" ending I'll say. But yeah renting will do. Smitan is right. Not much to do once you beat it. One thing to point out is Codex-pages. Not much extras. I even obtained altair's costume before I beat the game. Actually. I did those dungeons as I was searching for the 22 codex pages I was missing lol.
Yeah didn't bother with it until I had to ugh

But in no way do I intend to degrade this fantastic game for how it is

^The Truth is probably the only thing worth doing after you beat the game, if you're into conspiracies and HOLY F***! moments.

I don't have the game yet, but I have played it at a friend's house. I was on it for HOURS. It's incredible just how much AC has improved from the first game. Weapons are better, combat and movement are improved, AI is smarter, story is better, main character (Ezio) is 10x more likeable, played the game for several hours and not one mission felt the same. The list goes on. I thought this game was getting too overhyped, but Ubisoft did pull off an impressive sequel and I am amazed. They're obviously setting up a third one, and I hope it ups the ante.

I was playing the first Assassin's Creed today and in doing so I compared it to the sequel. To me, ACII is awesome but it feels like its missing something the first one had... I just don't know what.

I got a PS3 bundle with this game and i absolutley love it, a great game, i didnt like the first AC but this one makes me love it, its like POP without the monsters and turning back time-ish haha, but that part where you were supposedly Altair when he meets his spouse or whoever and Ezio is like" why am i not following Altair" etc and hes inside the woman i was like....OOKAAAY that was random haha. I find the game challenging, very very challenging, im just about the get the Golden Mask in Venice

Well I finished this yesterday. 3 trophies left. Just have to collect the feathers in Venice and ill be finished with that, then have to wear the cape, I get as reward from the feathers, in all areas. Then the last one I am a bit pissed about. I wasnt really thinking about the trophies when I was going through the story, so I missed getting one you can only get through that specific mission -_- I cant replay it unless starting a new game over again. *sigh* I forgot to kick a guard while using the flying machine >_>
But Ive become kind of a trophy whore lately, so I am very much considering going through the game again just to get that. Unfortunately its not close to the begining really at all. I hate crap like this, why couldnt they just make it so you could replay the dang mission. This game pissed me off so much I dont know if I can handle playing it over.

Just finished it. A very good game it was.

My only issues with the game is how easy it's to be spotted by the guards and those bothersome musicians. Oh, and the ending, I'm not sure whether to take it as something that was intentionally there only to get people talking and get the game's attention, or just facepalm.
Spoiler: click to toggle

@Totoro: Drat, I never did that on the flying machine either.

Edit: Look I've done a bit of reading and it seems there's DLC coming which allows you to fly the machine again:

''Ubisoft Montreal let us know recently that Assassin's Creed II is going to get two downloadable content packs for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Now, the development studio uncovers more details about both packs.

Have a look:

Sequence 12: Battle of Forli (End of January - $3.99)

Assassin’s Creed II Sequence 12: Battle of Forli expands the Assassin’s Creed II experience by delivering a missing piece of the storyline. Join Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza to defend Forli from the Orsi Brothers. Accomplish a daring rescue and prevent the Piece of Eden from falling into the hands of the Templars. Uncover new depths to the historical conspiracy by gaining access to six challenging new memories. Pilot Leonardo’s flying machine across Romagna.

Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities (End of February - $4.99)

A must for Assassin’s fans, Assassin’s Creed II Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities continues to expand the addictive AC2 universe. Work with Machiavelli to free the city of Florence from the grip of the mad monk Savonarola by targeting influential citizens under his control. Battle, sneak and free-run your way through more than ten challenging new memories. Discover a new district of Florence, and utilize Ezio’s brand new move: the spring-jump.''

Interesting. I was wondering what the heck the skip from 11 to 14 was all about. And the flying machine again, sweet. Maybe that means I wont have to play through the story mode again, and just get it that way, hopefully.

I went through getting all the feathers and ended up with 99 :P I hate when that happens. I have no idea where to look for the last one, and just have to go through all the locations again, I swear its just my luck for it to be that way.

I didnt find anything wrong with the ending, although I still thought there was more untill it said "completed sequence 14" I still thought I was on 12 LOL.

Also, Ubisoft has just announced a new Assassin's Creed, that continues the events with Ezio, so im guessing its not AC3. This is not the DLC LDZ is talking about either. Ubisoft plans to release it in there 2011 fiscal year. And it will include multiplayer. How exactly that would work? I havent got a clue.

@LittleDragonZ

I was also disappointed in the ending, it's like what Spielberg did to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Even though its sorta interesting I personally don't think it fits in the lore of Assassin's Creed. The rest of the story was fine though.
