@LittleDragonZ

I was also disappointed in the ending, it's like what Spielberg did to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Even though its sorta interesting I personally don't think it fits in the lore of Assassin's Creed. The rest of the story was fine though.

I've just clocked over 40 hours, 85% trophy percentage.

One thing I do like in this game is the actual combat. The many various motions in each weapon is very cool and keeps it entertaining.

Also, I still hate those musicians with a passion! But there's a few ways of getting them to flee quick. One of them is just unsheathing your sword gets them running, haha.

^Totoro just posted that a few days ago, no need to post it again.
I don't think its ACIII though.

I finished this about 3 weeks ago, been too lazy to post something, as i'm planning on wiritng a fulll blown review kinda thing, so bear with me. :P

Well, all in all, its a good game. They took out the repetiveness, completely, the game was not repetitive at all. It had some great elements too it. ANd i enjoyed it really well.

Fighting gaurds could get really annoying though. They're always blocking, its so dificult to find an opening. And i can't stand the follow up attack move, which your supposed to use to break the gaurd. Its very unsatisfying. I like to feel like i've accomplished something, like i actually killed the gaurd, not watch a short scene of Ezio killing the guy. Also, the timing is really annoying.

Venice was very beautiful. I love going around in that city, the water, the view, being able to steal boats, it gave a very realistic feel. I'm glad they actually included a masquarade, i thought since they showed one in the trailer there wouldn't be one. But there was and i was very satisfied.

Now concerning the whole....ending...

Hmm, and there was something missing about this game. Maybe a few things. I felt very disconnected as Ezio, i didn't feel like a part of the Assassin's guild like in the first one. The whole conncetion of the Assassins was off, and i didn't like it. I felt like a vigilanty, not an assassin. Also, the main story devellopement was gone too. WE left the animus, like twice, and that meant lack of intel and lack of the major story which interests me most in these games.

40? seriously? I have just over 20 with 98% trophy percentage. And I feel as if ive explored quite a bit. All viewpoints. I might not have done all side missions like races, courier, or extra assassinations, but there really wasnt too many anyways.

@Xanxus: disconnected, maybe, but thats what the story was about, him becomming an assassin. I personally felt a better connection with Ezio then Altair. Altair hardly says anything, while Ezio is on a level of just as much confusion as we are towards the things that are happening.
All I can say is thank god we dont have to research and get intel and what not before our assassination, that was so freaking annoying in AC1.

NEWS ON ACIII!

Not really news just 2 ideas on the setting. Ubisoft is decideing between Europe for a King Arthur like tale...or FEUDAL JAPAN! So thats like Nobunaga hideyshi etc, i think that would be more interesting than Italy and Jerusalem

ACIII huh? Personnally i rather see it take place in feudal Japan. Why? Well, we have already seen so mch Europe. ACII was entirely Europe, and during the time that AcI took place many areas of Jerusalam and areas close to i and such were European colonies. Also, We have already seen two games worth of european weapons, If the next game took Place in Jpan, it would open up possibilities to so many new, diferent and just plain amazing weapons (A Kurisagama comes to mind) But if it did take place in Europe again i wouldn't mind, making the towns would be much easier since buildings were made to be tall in Europe, unlike Jpana were they were made to stay close to the ground.

Samurai and ninja? Win.

I'll certainly support this different approach even if the bloodline stretches across the globe - it would certainly make way for more Assassin's Creed titles.

He'll be throwing shurikens in replacement of the knives.

Edit: I thought this article was new, it's dated last October. However, it's still something that points to a possible Feudal Japan.

I thought the way Altair's bloodline reached Italy ws a bit of a stretch maybe they will will have to do story on how Ezio and the other Assasins have toleave etc and their bloodlines end up in Japan, but then they have to go to America

And you don't think THAT'd be far-fatched?
And anyways, the Assassins and Templars aren't at just one location at a time. There were various branches all over the world.

Anyone getting the Battle of Forlì and Bonfire of the Vanities DLCs? I know that they were originally intended to be in the main game, but I'll still get it. The Battle of Forlì is coming out this Thursday, in case you guys didn't know.

Feudal Japan?

That opens up alot of possibiltes for more future titles or more assassin's. l'm all up for the idea. There's alot that can be done with the storyline and can possibly see this stretching far around the world. ;)

@Master Sima Yi: l'm thinking about buying the DLC, depends. What is it about anyway?

If I heard correctly ACIII is the last in the series, but they might do another "episodes" thing like what their doing with Ezio.

There's also a rumor that the game could take place in WWII, but I don't know how that would work with the gameplay. The fuedal Japan setting would work well with gameplay but like others have said it wouldn't make sence with Desmond's ancestry. But after seeing the end of ACII I thought Desmond would be the focus of the next game.

Every word - Alluring
Every emotion - Felt
Every movement - Contemplated
Every moment - Fantastic!

I can't write enough about this game, it's bloody amazing, I just have to sum it up. Shame not all games are as good as this. Favorite of 09 undoubtedly.

The game's okay, got my platinium today. I like the combat in this game, but I'm REALLY glad it's not as repeative as the first one. Codex pages, and puzzles were entertaining, the story is far more complex than I thought and the ending only game more questions to be answered, read lots of theories about the story lol.

My only note, is that the game lacks the fun factor, I don't really see much of a reason that would keep me playing for hours while having fun, it's good but it needs more.. I dunno.. fun? nice character lines? It's a huge improvements from the first one I have to admit. And the controls STILL need fixing >,>

@LDZ: lol, the musicians are a lot better than the stupid beggers in the first AC.

EDIT: Another thing that got on my nerves, the DLC, they said you have to buy it and it is vital to the story, meh...

Uncharted 2 is still game of 2009 for me :ph43r:

Well I'm glad I never played AC1 then, Nasser. :P

What I found most 'fun' in this game (forgetting the whole awesome assassin kills, cool factor of the game) were the rooftop chases and especially the street fights. As I would agree with someone that just climbing buildings to get the feathers or chests all the time to be dull.

I found a link somewhere that said that Ubisoft would never consider WWII, simply because it's been used too much in games, and they want to portray new eras and locations that the average person isn't that aware of. I find it hilariously ironic how feudal Japan is still an option, not that I have a problem with it.

Yeah, I beat the game last weekend. It was amazing. Ubisoft did a great job implementing what worked in the last game while fixing what didn't. Everything I said on the last page (which was before I had even gotten the game) still stands. The only problems were that the currency system is pretty much broken because of how quickly you earn money, and that the Auditore Cape is a disappointment.

I don't find any of the game dull, it can be slow paced but you're on such a journey with the characters. It can be hugely entertaining just to look around in the game sometimes and see the scenery with the graphics and stuff, like I said, everything you do is really felt. I really don't find it boring.

And too just add, for gods sake will people stop thinking the last game will be Japan, because It won't. Each game shows a decendant of Desmond right, so how the hell would bloody Japanese bloodline gotten into him, when each look alike appears to have some facial recognition to him. Does he have a Japanese face, I don't think sooo  .

Of all the arguements against the concept of AC3 in feudal Japan, "his face not looking Asian" is one of the weakest arguements. The ancestor's face can be easily tweaked to suit the culture, and Altair doesn't exactly look Middle Eastern at all compared to the others. And Desmond's all-American face doesn't mean jack, because he could still have some Japanese blood, just so little that it doesn't show. And it only strengthens Desmond's character, as the member of a long bloodline of assassins spanning many eras and cultures but all focused on a single goal.

Whats the point on having Desmond look like his ancestors from hundreds or years ago, in reality that wiould be impossivle because of DNA makeup Desmond will look like the mx of his parents not Ezio, Altair etc cos in reality that would be impossible
