What history period should Koei do next?; Either Historical or Fictional

First Lieutenant Posts: 131 Group: Members Member #606 Joined: February 7, 2006	I've been reading this for class lately, and though it's primarily a story on the war, the personal conflicts are much more real than pertinent to the main story than you'd think, which is somewhat similar to the Three Kingdoms, where the personalities of the generals behind the war often take precedence over the soldiers. Anyway, I think this could be interesting, and the Greeks have a lot of talent to draw from. Achilles, Ajax, Odysseus, Patroclus, and maybe some others for the Greeks, and... I guess just Hector for the Trojans. Eh. I do think that divine intervention in the game could be interesting, and the Iliad has more than enough engagements to make a game around. I haven't really finished it, so I can't really comment on the idea fully.

It could cover more than just the Trojan War, though. Such as Odysseus journey home (read the Odyssey next), or battles against the Persians. Or perhaps the entire rise and fall of the Greek city states. Woo for the idea of Spartan Warriors! Edit: Corrected upon Goubot's post.

I was wondering if Koei would make a Korean spinoff If they did, it would most likely be ALOT like Dynasty warriors cuz they're split into three kingdoms/reigons too: Goguryeo Baekje and Silla. I woul if they'll color label them too >_> If they did make it, the game would be 400 years after Dynasty warriors. and a few hundred more years away from samurai warriors lol. Tell meh what you think^^!!

They would have to add blood to it, as those were brutal times, and I can just imagine being Achilles, storming the battlefield and owning all. He'd be the Lu Bu of the era.

A game based on those three would be epic length. If Achilles would be Lu Bu, wouldn't Patroclus be Zhang Liao? Well, for a fictional one, base it on The Wheel Of Time.

Maybe u can do wars more oriented to Ninja's or spellcasters. U could have regular people as well in both, combining stealth or magic etc. Would be pretty sweet.

As they've already added two of the most important figures of the time into one game. Or, as epople have already said, ancinet Greece or Rome. Or better yet, just covering the ntire Aegean area. Seperate games over the Illiad, the Odyssey, the Aneid, and possibly the 12 labors of Hercules.

The adventures of cleaning some stables. <_< Honestly I believe Chu-Han Contention has the best chance. Same map as DW, same over all feel, a lot of historical figures. Yadda yadda. Maybe also a game more directed around a group of assassins trying to take out the Qin Emperor, ala Hero.

Wars of the Three Kingdoms (no not just over in China) was the name attributed to the conflicts in the 17th century involving Ireland, England (and Wales but it was effectively melded into England at the time) and Scotland and the religious reforms which caused them. The bits that wouldn't be so cosy in Ireland would be anything to do with Cromwell here. It'd probably have a couple of miffed people in the UK as well, Civil War n' all. It's that or the Irish War of Independence 1919-21, then the Civil War continuing that to '23, and that wouldn't go down well with anyone either.
