If they made a game based on the American war for independence or the American Civil War it might actually make me become interested in my own history. I honestly think its a pretty good idea. It's not like we're talking about machine guns and such, to the person who said guns are out. They have rifle users in Orochi and SW games, and beyond rifle and cannons (Which they've also had in those games already) there isn't much more firepower so to speak. Both wars had famous generals and heroes. Both have had movies and books written about them introducing fictional heroes as well. Bayonets, Rifles, Swords and in some cases axes X) were used. And they could branch off from that. Or have every character be able to select which one they will use at the beginning of their 'musou' mode. Each character could then have 3 different movesets (that are unique to them) based on that selection. There's definitely something to that. But alas, it's American, right? Most people seem to just turn their noses up at that, huh? I'd buy it.

Kittn, if your going to do the histories in Northern America I have a more radial idea... How about a game that featured the Nations? I maybe bias, but a game about the great Warriors/seers of the Native peoples of America would rock. If you wanted to add the European peoples to the game, it would be the early settler, conquerors. Set the game in the 1500 to 1700 would give you tons of great leaders and warriors of the nations and colonist from England, Spain, the Dutch, French, Portugel, just to name a few along with sub-sets of peoples from Europe that was trying to escape the Wars of Religion that were raging in Europe.  BTW: It wouldn't be the first time Koei did a game based on the History of the Americas. Liberty or Death was one of thier early games based on the American Revolutionary War. I'm thinking that they should stick to whats best, i was play DW vol 2 the other day and noticed Gengis Khan as an unlockable officer perhaps they could do a game on the wars of his timeline |

Magoichi and Date were ok with guns... and why not have a FLintlock or something as a side weapon. one that has to charge like musou or sometihng. But as always. i think it should be historical and not...exaggerated. i think i personally need a game based on my countrys history. i know more about other countries than i do my own... Isn't that what the Musou series are (with possible exception of Orochi)? I personally liked the idea of them adapting their formulas to a new sub-genre or franchise. The fact that the game may or may not have guns isn't going to seal its fate either for good or ill: I'd be equally open to a stone-age game as a 23rd-century tactical action game. Whatever they can make work. |

Sounds like you want either a Greek Heroic tales setting. Hecules (he dressed in a loin pelt, with a skull helmet at times. OR a Hiborean age kind of thing (Conan) pre-history fiction. |

I think Koei should make a game about the Minamoto and Taira wars.Also I think Koei should make about game about the earlier battles in Japan. |

i just had a brain blast. what if they do the Napoleonic period of warfare, and they give it a bladestorm style gameplay. that age was full of charismatic characters, epic battles, and tons of drama. Koei would be mad not to tap into this age of drama and warfare. |

I think Koei should do a game about the early battles in feudal Japan with gameplay like SW and DW.I think it could awsome to has game about Nobuhide,Dosan,Dosetsu,and Yoshimoto. |

I've recently had a strong interest in the 18th century political and military conflict of the Americas by the various European powers, culminating in the American Revolutionary War. I would absolutely love to see Koei tackle this era with a ROTK/NA or Bladestorm/Kessen type game. This hearkens back to my love of an old Sid Meier's PC game called Colonization. Well, back in 1994, KOEI made Liberty or Death, which covered the American Revolution and had many similarities with the earlier RotK and NA games. I used to have it and recall that it was a fairly good game. Had a lot of the political and military figures of the era, including those from other countries like France and Spain. I'd personally love to see a new edition come out. That goes for other "forgotten" KOEI games like Rise of the Phoenix, Genghis Khan, Bandit Kings of Ancient China, Gemfire, etc. as well. Yeah, and there's a PC version too which has a few more features, like being able to choose who you want to be your overall commander(Washington and Gage are your predetermined leaders in the SNES version), and I believe several more historical figures to use/interact with.

KOEI needs to stick with Oriental Asian history. Unless they are willing to be serious, I don't want to see them go anywhere near the Greeks (I know about Legends of Troy), Rome, Persia, or the Crusades. And don't even think about the Vikings and other barbarians... Unless its something like ROTK, just not musou. |

I fear for how KOEI will portray the history of those cultures. KOEI tends to use a dramatic anime-like storytelling instead of historical accuracy (I know it can't be perfect but they could be doing a lot better job). And I'd be ashamed to see Caesar, Attila, Alexander, Saladin, etc. portrayed the way KOEI now does DW/SW. If they can make the game have a more serious theme than DW/SW then I'd be ok with it. |
