PS3 Game Saves; Can you transfer or are they protected

And I started this topic to confirm if the saves are protected or not. And was hoping that some kind soul would share a save sometime later with with most things in the game done.

They CAN be transferred, BUT as is tied in with a different PSN account name, when you open the save file on your PS3, you will be denied any trophies.

I've never cared about achievements or trophies. All I have wanted to do was have fun. But are you most definitely confirming that saves still work for the US release?
