King of Hearts; Rank 4 Parts for Burning Gundam

Hey All,

I don't know much (if at all) about the Gundam anime series, but I do love playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1 and 2. I'm currently playing Mission Mode (I find Official boring) and Domon was my favorite from the first game so after trying out Kira Yamato, I've been using Domon of late.

I've completed all of his Friendship missions and got a message from Rain that there's a new mission for me to undertake. The King of Hearts mission (for those that haven't seen it yet) rewards you with Rank 4 parts for Burning Gundam once you beat it. That right there is the problem. It's soooooooooooooo difficult! You don't have a choice as to what difficulty level you want to tackle the mission in (unlike the others). The only "choice" is Hard. Domon right now is at level 30 (or 31) and it takes quite a while to beat even the peons in the King of Hearts mission. The first Ace you have to fight? A hyper Master Asia

After you dispatch him (if you can survive), you have to deal with Judau, Roux and then Scirocco. That's where I'm stuck. I can't deal with 3 Aces all at once :XD

My bread and butter Ace Dispatcher combo (I play on the 360)

X, X, X, X, Y -> Boost -> X, X, Y -> Boost -> X, X, Y (repeat until Boost meter is depleted) doesn't work against the Aces on Hard. Sigh. Sometimes, they can even get out of an SP attack. WTH?

Has anyone on these forums beaten this mission yet? If so, do you suggest I level up more before I tackle this again?
Currently Playing: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (PS3), Halo 3: ODST (360)

Well I've yet to do it, but I have tried it with weak pilots/suits. Only a few times, though. It's hard enough to take down Master Asia at the start, nevermind defeat him whilst the firepower from the crowd withers you down slowly.

probably the easiest way to clear this stage is to spam your range attack (based on ps2 controls it would be L1+triangle) and let them block it, after a while they will let their guard down, then you do a combo, rinse and repeat

what MS re you using?here's the god gundam suggestion

-get overdrive and hate to lose, stun master gundam/any other ace with a deadlock and do a close range C4

-make sure you have hard strike, since you will face devil gundam near the end of the mission, without it it'll be way harder to face

-always take on aces one on one,the key is running away and conquering the fields while you are still facing master gundam, that way the next wave of aces will be stalled in the field they appear since its yours now, pick one and destroy them, head to the other ace ASAP.

oh and DG cells might help, but only if you understand how to use it,but since you're not lv 40 yet then go get school of master asia instead since you're going to get beat up to red health pretty often

the only hard thing is the predetermined MS,which is master, devil, and the hyper god gundam at the end, which usually starts using clones from the get go,the random aces are luck based,at one time 2 out of 3 random ace in that mission uses zakuII...............

With those kinds of levels, you really need to have a really high levelled character, with a really high powered mobile suit to match, otherwise you are just going to be struggling the whole way through.

For the suit, try to have all the parts, with all the stats quite close to the maximum limit, so using my O as an example, when I was doing those kinds of missions, I at least tried to have the Melee and Defence stats as high as they can go, and the skills to go with them, well they can vary depending on your fighting style.

I good combination or pilot skills for missions such as those, is "Hate to Lose"+"Customisation"+"School of Master Asia" as those will really give you strong attacks, espeically if you continually get into clashes with other aces. :)

When I did this, I used Scirocco [50] and The O

-Small Giant
-Worthy Opponent
-Overdrive

Seeing how you know you'll have to deal with Dark Gundam, you may as well remove any chance of loss by equipping Small Giant

Because I didnt have all friendships at the time. . .I used Worthy Opponent. . .you. . .erm. . .may wanna ditch that

The O's combination SP, when combined with Small Giant, takes. . .I believe it was a 3 Gauge, and a Single Gauge, and I killed the Dark Gundam, while it stood. . .

For The O, I suggest you have
-Minovsky
-Speed Star
-Hard Strike
-Armor Gain
-Bio Computer

In the end, I suppose it really just matters how well you pilot your mobile suit though =/

note:customization does not extend the length of the atk up bonus from hate to lose, only the atk up item will be extended, apparent by no +BONUS text when you win deadlocks with hate to lose+customization

Yeah...I knew that, the customisation skill is so that the armour regen pick ups are boosted, in case you get really low health, which is a high possibility in those really high difficulty levels, and if you happen to get one of those stats boosts mid-game, all the better ^_^

well in hard the drops are very rare, and boxes rarely contains stuff aside from the SP recover, plus the ones that you do get from aces are the MAX regen anyway, customization skill is only useful for the stat boost items IMO

Thats why the mobile suit you plan to use from Extra missions should probably contain Armor Gain ^^;

I recall doing the King of Hearts mission with a level 30ish Lacus with little to no problem. I believe I used Burning/God Gundam with Armor Gain, Biocomputer, Square Drive, Hard Strike, and something else I can't remember with the pilot skills Self-Suggestion (Because Lacus totally needs it for melee), Overdrive, and High Magnetism. Once you do Burning/God Gundam's Team-Up Musou for the clones, you can pretty much destroy anything with its C4 with Square Drive and High Magnetism (If you have the clones placed correctly, the AI can barely ever block this combo). I tend to avoid doing Boost Combos and Musou attacks in high difficulty stages since the AI has a penchant for flipping out of them..
