| switching characters at the shrine...; does it affect anything? | |

im hoping this will be my final question on this game, i've only had one other before now... anyway, first of all, what determines the unlocking of characters at the shrine? after a few chapter 1 battles i 'unlocked' guan yu and liu bei at the shrine, but what happens if i change characters? does the story change at all, or is the story mode like DW4's kingdom musou, no matter who you play as, its the same story? i wanna know because i played one character, one kingdom, at a time in DW6, which took me forever... oh, and if you switch characters, do all of your items, storage materials/items, and shop progress, etc... stay with you? will the character you switch from keep the weapons you got for him/her, or do you lose them? |

Okay. Yes, the story stays the same, you're progress stays the same, the items you have stay the same, and you're previous character is still at that level in which you got him/her on. I don't know how exactly you unlock more characters of your kingdom. I think it has to do with story progress. By the time you get to Lu Bu, you'll have all three kingdoms unlocked to play as (character wise). Edited by K.E., Apr 30 2009, 11:29 PM.

To get Zhang Jiao if I'm not mistaken you have to reach Act 6, then replay the mission to defeat the Zhang brothers in the Yellow Lightning room. to get Yuan Shao, you have to complete Act 6's "Zenith Tower" quest. |

yeah I think your right with the Zhang Jiao unlocking requirement. just keep plugging away at the sub missions, officer duel missions, and story missions, and you should be fine with unlocking everybody. I wonder though I have seen Orochi & Kiyomori Taira in special officer duel missions (maybe Da Ji and Sun Wukong but I haven't seen them yet) I wonder if they are unlockable too? I doubt it but it may be cool. my luck they are probably just cameos ment to scare the poop out of you LOL! |

There are a total of 4 "Orochi" side quests: - Orochi's Ambition (actual name) - a battle with Kiyomori Taira - a battle with Da Ji - a battle with Shin Orochi None of those characters are unlockable in normal gameplay. Some have hacked and used their skins, but they are NOT playable as unique characters. |

Ahh yes, that's the name for Kiyomori's battle  I haven't unlocked the other two yet  Just a quick question, when switching characters at the shrine, everything else stays the same right? Can you equip weapons/items/chi that you've already earned or do you have to unlock all of them again? I haven't tried switching characters yet, so yea ...

Everything stays the same, including money. What one character does with whatever is available, it will be the same across the board. Say you equip Float on any number of the characters, you can do that with all of them, it doesn't have a limit to how many can use the same orb. The only restriction is the levels. Just be sure to save the game at regular intervals. I started doing that when I kept losing some of the weapons due to the game freezing up. |

Ahh good then. Now when you say restricted, do you mean that only certain chi/weapons/items can be equipped as the character reaches a certain level?  Edited by Mr.Honda, Jun 3 2009, 09:05 PM.

Exactly. Like Fury Armor is restricted to those above Level 35. There are certain chis that do that. Like all 5 star chis are only able to be equipped by people who are at level 40 and above. |

Ya I figured they werent unlocable anyways. I wouldn't switch characters personally. the game is hard enough without having to mess with low level characters.
