I'm currently just searching for good Chi combinations. Although, I could just go: Immortal Control ++ Invert + Aero +/ Maintain And stack a lot of elixers to keep the fury alive. As for orbs, I usually use Power Orbs or Arbor Orbs. I'm only playing with Sima Yi at the moment, so maybe it'll change. |

There are characters that have control as a default (Cao Pi's one of them). They use it all the time. Although, it's not like the control really works when it's just "Control." When it's "Control++," then it works fairly well. Invert doesn't equal immortality within the game. Immortal does, though, you'll have to get Arcane Charm, Mage Book, Mystic Spiritgem and Earth Gift to get Immortal, and it costs 5000 Gold pieces. These are given within all of the Chapter 6 stages and sometimes within the Downloaded Content stages. Invert only assists you in regaining health after being hit, if you're continuously hit, it'll not necessarily go down, but it will when you are either knocked out of Fury or you use Musou. The other characters who use Control by default are Xiahou Dun, Zhou Tai, Guan Yu, and Huang Zhong. I hope that helps. Edited by kotarofan79, Jun 18 2009, 05:38 PM.

Hi kotarofan79, Thanks for your quick reply. i understand. another thing i would like to know is, do you guys actually use it? Control++ and/or Focus++? Or, you just gem your characters with something more relevant/useful/aggressive? btw, i am aware that the officers have each their inherent "chi"s. Thanks again, kaYe |

I use what I want to use. I don't go by "popular" uses of the chis or orbs. It's whatever works well for you is what you'd use. |

I never bothered with Focus but I find Control++ quite useful. If you don't have it, then it means you need to constantly use Elixirs and Fury Pills, and defeat officers and heavy machinery. With Control ++, there's no need to rush especially if you combine it with Immortal. |

I personally use both Focus & Control (and their ++ versions). I use less Zen Elixirs this way ![]() And yea, basically just use whatever suits your playstyle. I see all the Immortal + Invert posts and I have never once used them. |

I find them essential in Chapter 6. Lu Bu and Death Beasts are so painful to beat without Fury mode and in Zenith Tower and Manipulation you have to face 3-4 officers at the same time >_>. Normally you would lose Fury almost immediately but Invert and Immortal make it last much longer |

hey guys! Thanks for all your replies. Appreciate the participation. Honestly, i think Control (and Focus) is so different than if your char is inherent with. eg: Guan Yu and Cao Pi. Cause even after equipping with it, i don't really see the significance. i still use a lot of elixirs. At least, i know now that i'm not doing the wrong thing ![]() Cheers guys! kaYe |

My level 35 Cao Ren, just starting chapter 5, has the following chi - Control+ Focus+ Aero+ Invert After practicing some more with his air attacks, I now see why Aero is so popular. It does some nutty damage when I spam his normal attacks on an airborne officer. This setup has served me well for fury tanking. I don't need to use all that much Elixir, and the Leeroy leeway from Invert is nice. |

Oh, I may try Aero later too, as it look to be very powerful in jump attack ^^ For the moment, I equiped my characters' weapon with Orbs >> Weapon 1 : Bow TECH : "Orb ATK +" (Force or Strengh Orb +) and Light/Holy Orb + Weapon 2 : Twin Swords TECH : Orb ATK + and (Wood or Poison or) Arbor Orb + And as Chi (or Ki) the 4 she has equiped at the moment are : Vitality + Restore + Rush ++ "Spring +" (the one that give you a highter jump, but not another jump -dunno the name in English sorry, supposed it was Spring XD) When I equiped those Chi techniques, the wise old man told me once, it is good to use both Vitality & Restore when you play alone XD lol glad to know it XD Can't wait to have Focus and others good Chi techniques to try by the way ^^ |

For my characters level 40+ I use Anthrostrike+ Invert+ Focus++ Restore++ For orbs, I only really use three, these being: Area Orb++ Adept Orb++ Fury Orb++ As for metalsnake27's search for Warrior Soul and Earth Gift. Warrior's Soul can be found by beating Xu Zhu in the Manipulation Mission, or from Sun Zhong in Bewitching Land. Earth Gift is from He Jin in Zenith Tower, or Lu Bu in From The Depths. All these missions are in Chapter 6 and are rare drops. |

Hey guys, Anyone knows what is the difference between Readiness and Channel? The game's description quiet ambiguous? which is the one that keeps getting your Fury up while attacking? And, what about Spirit? |

Neither of those will get your gauge up any faster. Control will slow down the fury gauge when you activate it. Readiness reduce the amount time needed for using a powered up charge attack (holding down triangle). As for spirit, though I've not used it, it's description makes it to sound that you will gain more fury from one attack than you would without. Hope this helps.

It will prevent you from having any ailments when facing off against either Diao Chan (in Death Beasts) as well as some stages where "Release" is invoked by the towers. You won't have any trouble with Diao Chan with that chi enabled. I have all the Resist chis on my Wu save and I find them really useful at times. |

Yea, that's what I mean. Did you use the Resist chi? If you did, then you'd have no problem with Diao Chan. Who usually has "Light" orbs enabled on her weapon. |

I think "Release" Chi makes you resistant to her Light damages. i.e.: guard disabled. Other status ailments (eg: poison, stun, heavy, fire, and ice) can still affect the character. Just found that out guys. And thanks again for all your replies. Cheers, kaYe |

Not if you have the resist chis for those elements. I have used Heavy and Poison resist while on Ice Bi Xie, and I don't get affected by either Zhen Ji or Sima Yi. I do get affected by the Ice Bi Xie and Cao Pi as well as the weapons present since I don't use Ice Resist, because I use Fury Armor and Invert + with Heave and Poison Resist. |

It basically gives you resistance to the status ailment known as "Release" (you get this if you get hit by someone with a 'light' weapon). Release basically makes your blocks useless (meaning you can't block). |
