I've heard that unlocking the higher skills - Black Arts, Flying General, Puissance, etc. - you need to beat a scenario in 10 years or less. I've also heard that only unlocks some of the higher skills, and that you need to beat the Rise of Heroes scenario to unlock all of them. So, the best method I suppose, would be to beat the Rise of Heroes scenario in ten years or less. Alternatively, you could just get a save file off of the Internet if you're playing the PC version. |

In regards to downloading new portraits and models, there's nothing official, but there're portrait editors out there as well as model editors. Unfortunately, the ones I've seen are in Chinese, so that might be a barrier. Still, it's possible to edit character models. Output a created character, open it in a hex editor, and beginning at the value 44, which is the character's model's stance, you can change that line around and patch together a new model. For example, if I put 27 in value 45, the character's model would now have Meng Huo's unique helmet. Be warned though, not all combinations work - as an example, Lu Xun's head can't be used with anything except helmet headgear because Lu Xun's head doesn't have a back. Also, it is possible to crash the game if you input the wrong values into that line, so do this with caution if you choose to do it. |

I've never checked out the modding programs, so I wouldn't know where you might find them. As for hex-editing, the values for the character model start at row 40, column 4 and ends at row 40, column 0c. 44 is the character's model's stance, 45 is the character's model's head, 46 is the character's model's headgear, and so on. I'd recommend creating some dummy officers with the models you want to use first so it's easier to get their values. For example, if you want to create an officer with Zhao Yun's head, Zhang Liao's body, and the quiver on Huang Zhong's back - you'd create three officers with their models. You'd then look up Zhao Yun's value in the hex-editor (I think it's 00), then Zhang Liao's value (I think it's 04), and then the quiver's value. I hope this helps. Hex-editing is time-consuming and a bit hazardous, you might want to consider backing up your character output files and then working on this. |

Yes, I think that's right. There're some more models in the game that can't be unlocked though - there're models for the Emperor and the Empress, and I've heard that one or two officers have slight changes in their model when they're old. I know that the Emperor and Empress models have hex values and thus can be edited in, but I've never dug deep enough to find the others. |

I should've been clearer - you must open the .S11 files with a hex editor - I use Hex Editor Neo. You can download it here: http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Products/home/hex-editor-free.html. |

It took me 80 years to restore the han and I got all the highest skills in the game, I got the scenario power struggle, I could use all character portrait's. All skills could go up to 100. So 10 years or less wouldnt be the right case Balu
