Bumping this topic out of the depths to get people's thoughts now that the PS3/360 version is available. Do you think Strikeforce is still a failure for either PSP or console? Why? Regarding Strikeforce 2, do you think the first game's performance will result in the localized PSP version being cancelled? Console port possible? Discuss. |

I'm thinking Koei may skip the PSP release- although the engine is designed around PSP. I would buy SF2 if it comes out to PSP, but again not many people in the US play on the PSP. Public transportation is a non-issue for the most part and travel commutes are not that long so PS3 and 360 get played more often. High Schools don't allow such electronics. SF1Special has sold better than most recent Koei games out West- but they had a supply issue at launch. |

I have bought Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce on the PlayStation 3 immediately when it was released, and as of this day, I have no regrets. I had never played the PSP-version before (because I was playing onther games in the series at the time) and so I was very happy with the console-release. So no, I don't think that Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce was a failure outside of Japan. And I even hope that the sequel, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 will also be released on the US and EU markets. I will surely play it on PSP this time around, and maybe once again if and when it is ported to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. |

I haven't played the original on the PSP but I was around at the time they revealed all the Fury/Awakenings for each character. With Meng Huo on the console version, he's.... different. A bizarre playing style that's not necessarily bad, per say. His awakening is cool, though. I bought SF for the PS3 so I thought it was cool to see Ryu, Ayane, and Momiji from NG appear and give side quests that ultimately result in the reward of their weapons, respectively (high level stats for each weapon, too!). The only thing that left me confused was why all the DLC quests are five stars but they pay off in the end with materials for the legendary weapons (already have some so far). Wrapping up chapter six of the Wei story so I can get my Lu Bu (already got some cross pike weapons for him that are waiting). |

Ouch those sale counts must hurt. ![]() The game itself is not a failure, it's just abit unpolished, and i don't like the fact that you can't crowd-kill people because of the changed battle system. Also you can often just dash through areas without doing anything, too little enemys too. |

Japan is crazy of DW/SW anyway they just love them hack n slash games, especially when you can do it with friends in those fancy gaming cafes. |

Well the sales of the game are low + 260k PS3/360 version combined. So I guess they made maybe a little more than 10 million $ on it? Don't know if that is enough. The game looks low budget but yeah compared to DW6 that almost sold combined 1 million copies.. Still hoping for a SF2 on the consoles though. |

Just want to point out that while the PSP version sold poorly overseas, the console versions completely doubled that of Japan's console sales. DW: SF NA/EU Console version has sold over 220,000 copies while Japan has sold under 100,000. |
