What would happen if -

Dynasty Warriors 7 was a total package, it had no Empires or Xtreme Legends expansions and it was a fusion of all three games. I think more people would buy it for the sake of knowing they won't need to buy Empires and Xtreme Legends to enjoy it.

I am on my last set of nerves and tolerance of Dynasty Warriros games, I will buy Dynasty Warriror's 6 Empires and Xtreme Legends. But if they don't meet my standards, I will never buy a KOEI game again. :realangry:

If DW7 proved to be garbage? I'd just stick to SW, if that fails as well then I'll just leave the warriors games and stick to strategy games KOEI does best. It won't really affect me much, as I didn't really get into the latest KOEI Warrior games. (DW6 and onwards)

Last comment of Kai's post overdone...

Well, it depends on what 'completed package' means.

If it brought back ALL of the removed characters, decloned ALL of the characters, gave ALL of the characters unique stories, made it both challenging (but not cheating AI like Strikeforce) and fun, brought back items and weapons for replayability, had Japanese, English, German, CHINESE voice options, some Edit Officer and multiplayer modes, and Edit Ending and Opening...

Then. Yes. I'd buy it.

However, knowing Koei, it won't. So long as their Japanese fans continue to be sheep and buy anything they crap out, we will never, ever get a full product for them. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

And no, this isn't really a bash on Japanese gamers. But they DO focus solely on pleasing THEM, not the American and ever growing European fanbase...

I don't mind Empires being separate. Empires changes the way the game is played too much to be a part of the main game. As an expansion, Empires actually provides something NEW and DIFFERENT from the main game, which is what an expansion should do.

Xtreme Legends and this new "Special" garbage is just Koei cheating us out of more of our hard earned money for stuff that SHOULD be in the main game. It's nonsense and there's no excuse for it.

The era of DLC could change that, however. If they offer Xtreme Legends as DLC only, no new discs, offer actual new content and game modes (not stuff that should be in the game to begin with), and at a reasonable price, I'd at least consider getting it. As it stands now, though, I'm never going to buy an Xtreme Legends or Special game.

wow, really like that, especially the voice settings.
wish they put the japanese voice in the english version of the game.

Hm, I'm thinking this belongs in the DW section... since it's about DW7 after all. :P

Well, I would love to see that happen, but I think it's simply wishful thinking. KOEI has an established formula... Release game, release expansions, repeat. I don't think it will change because they've been doing this for years now.
If you're tiring of it, simply don't buy any more.

As for me, I tend to skip most of the expansions 'cause they offer little for the price if you ask me, unless you're a hardcore fan. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed DW4Empires back in my obsessive DW fan days, but I don't think I get the same thrill from DW6 Empires because I'm simply not as big as a fan as I used to be.
I can't play these games anymore with out getting bored...

That would be really nice. I won't have to waste about 180 bucks on getting all three.

Only thing I don't like about XL expansions is how Koei will sometimes purposely omits some features in the original game to later add onto the expansion. Never was a big fan of the whole disc swap thing, considering the whole original game is already in the XL disc, just need to disc swap to 'unlock' the rest of the game.
In areas outside of Japan/Asia, they probably could've just fixed XL games as "Special Editions" with no disc swapping + already at a lower price... probably would've helped their international sales better since I have friends who aren't fans of DW/SW games and find the whole disc swapping feature incredibly lame lol.

I don't mind Empire expansions being separate but I'm sure if Koei really wanted to, they could squeeze it into the original game if they wanted to. It's not like other games out there have sub-modes that are drastically different from the main games.

Knowing Koei though, it would be giving the players too much bang for their buck to put it all together :P
