@BEO: Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't Then again, it doesn't look much like MGS. It could be the new game Kojima is making after all >_> @Kratos: Famitsu. Oh and no problem  EDIT: Site up! http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/ Also someone managed to find these loading images:  Cloud, Lightning, Sun, ! ? Raiden? Sunny? 4 Days bump >_> http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/ A countdown timer (seems to be scheduled to stop around 9am in my time) and a 5 or a block styled S is seen on the BG now. Oh and the BG is getting angry What could it possibly mean? Could it be the (almost obvious) MGS5? :lol The "S"ubstance or "S"ubsistence version of MGS4?  Something to do with Solid in it? A new Snatcher game? (Based on the Project S series of projects?) A new game with an S in the title unrelated to anything we know? Have to wait until Friday!  ....unless Famitsu spoils it again

I bet the clock is going to reset after 4 days. Then another one is going to pop up. I'll be dissapointed if it's MGS5. 4 wraps the series up pretty well. So shouldn't it time to let go? |

LOL, true I do agree though, 4 pretty much concluded the Solid series but they just can't stop Metal Gear like that  (not that I would like it XD) Maybe like what Kojima said before, new Snake, new era.But I have a feeling it's not gonna be MGS5 (even though the font is reminiscent to the early MGS4 logo). It's just a little too early IMO for a new main story. EDITEDIT: It seems like what BEO said, there's probably gonna be multiple countdowns and it apparently ends on the first day of E3

Or Metal Gear Solid 4 Special? Oh wait that's not KOEI I don't really mind, acctually, I'd simply LOVE it if it's a MGS5. Yeah it's true that MGS4 wraps the series well together, but you know we all want to play with Snake alittle more. They can make a newer game with a different story, new or whatever. Something between MGS4 and MGS2 that still doesn't damage the storyline. Or it could be a canon game, whatever it is, hopefully it will be worth the mutiple count downs. |

That's why, when in doubt, make a prequel! (Or midquel). When MGS2 was intended to be the final game, they made a prequel (MGS3). THIS. IS. TIME. FOR. LIQUID. More specifically, a midquel involving (or playing as) Liquid Snake, and the missions he was doing in the middle east, since everyone seems to enjoy that setting. |

Considering how awesome he was in MGS4, that wouldn't be a bad thing. Now MGS2.....I do think BEO is right. I bet the countdown will keep restarting until E3, but each time, it's going to change the flash animation, possibly into a thunderstorm next time, then maybe a tornado after that, who knows. As it does that, it may reveal more and more. Heck, what if the letter in the background next time is "N", and it will eventually spell "S-N-A-K-E"? That'd be a dead giveaway that it's a new MGS, as well as a clever way to reveal the game, to boot. |

Well, at least it will help build excitement, though the wait is likely to nearly kill a lot of people. I wonder if it will eventually spell out "S-N-A-K-E" with a new letter each time. That's my prediction, at least. |

It probably is "5 @ E3". Another countdown; who would've guessed lol. It's probably MGS5, at this point. There's just so much pointing to it. Famitsu looks to spoil another surprise, but heck, at least we won't have to wait out all of the countdowns. |

When was the last time a company decided to end a successful series just because "It's its time now" ? I like to think this is MGS5, even though it might not be but I think MGS5 will be released eventually. Besides, even if this doesn't turn out to be MGS5, I think I'll still get it anyway

Tomorrow is the Famitsu reveal. I guess we'll finally see if it's MGS5 or some other new MGS. And you're right, Nasser. I still don't understand why Jak & Daxter had to end after three games, but they've already spawned a combat racing game, a Daxter spin-off, and they're making a prequel of sorts for the PS2 to help keep that system alive. I still want a full-blown game on the PS3, but still, we can never say a franchise is truly dead. Even though MGS4 was penned as the last one, it'll never be over as long as there's a demand. Heck, the MegaMan X series was supposed to end at 5, but it went all the way to 8 due to good sales (at least in Japan). The same seems to apply to MGS. |
