KOEI, recognized worldwide as the premier brand of strategy and action games, today announced its lineup of titles that will be showcased at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), June 2-4 in Los Angeles. Among the games to be shown, the company will unveil two new titles at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This will be the first time in KOEI's history that the company publicly debuts new titles outside of Japan.

TRINITY: Souls of Zill O'll™ - For years, Omega Force has transcended the action genre to create one of video gaming's most legendary franchises. Now they will unleash their imaginations on the realm of fantasy with the upcoming TRINITY: Souls of Zill O'll.

Warriors: Legends of Troy™ - Three thousand years ago, a poet sang of heroes strong enough to stand alone against an army. For love, they sailed the world. For family, they made the greatest sacrifices. For honor, they stood and faced the will of gods, and fought a war which shook the earth...

I wonder if Legends of Troy will be yet another Kessen rehash, or will it be a DW rehash?

I would think it isn't anything about Asian culture at all but about ancient Greek culture. Troy had nothing to do with China. I doubt anyone in that part of the world had known that there's a China in the world at the time. I think it will tell the story of the warring city-states of Greece and also of Troy.

Then again, I may be totally wrong about that.

By the way they're marketing that "Warriors" name, I'd said a DW rehash. Whatever, I'm still looking forward to the announcement at E3. I bet I'll be a CGI trailer with no gameplay, but getting a glimpse of the character designs would be good enough for me.

E3 is actually looking pretty good this year...

Yes it does. I mean thats really a part of the world they haven't done a game for. It'll be interesting to see how they do it tho.

That announcement would have made me jump on my chair for joy some years ago, since I was sooo fond of Greek mythology (as I already said in other threads here at KW, I had read and learnt about it for many years, since I was a child. I loved the Iliad and read it many times).
Now I'm not that interested in it anymore, anyway I couldn't help wondering what my favourite Diomedes would be like, if KOEI ever included him in that new game.

...Well, let's wait and see.

Visually, Troy looks exactly as I thought it would it would. Hopefully they keep things like weapons and fighting styles simple and old school, no Prayer Beads or Lightsabres in this one please :)

According to the link in this post, SW3 is shown as one of the games KOEI is featuring.

Its Gamespot's interactive showfloor map. Just highlight KOEI and read what it says ... whether its true or not ...

Yeah, but if you click on the Koei panel you get a "No content updates match these specific criteria. Please try different matching criteria" message. =/

I heard Koei didn't want their employees to attend E3 this year because of Swine Flu? Odd, considering Temco is there.

Kind of lame that nothing on SW3 happened. I guess we'll have to wait till TGS.

Yep, nope KOEI were not going to show SW3. A error on Gamespot's behalf, I would've posted it listed with the other two above.

It makes sense though seeing as how most DW/SW games release in Japan first. I wouldn't see them announcing any updates in US before Japan.

My guess would be TGS as well ;)

I think people had a good reason to hope for SW3 to appear, actually.

Remember that KOEI is actually one of the best localization companies on the market, since they localize almost every title they release. It wouldn't have been too far-fetched for them to release some information at E3. Now, if this was Namco we were talking about, then yeah, there'd be no reason to expect it. I was hoping for a little morsel of info, but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer.

Hmm ... I never considered it from that point of view.

Seeing as how the new Troy game was announced here in the states first, perhaps they could have done it for SW3.

I guess I figured if Omega Force is working on it (unlike KOEI Canada) then it'll hit Japan first, oh well. Now the wait continues ...

EDIT: I found it rather amusing that most of KOEI's Twitter updates were about their booth girls
