What do you think? SW1 was focused on Nobunaga's conquest while SW2 was focused on Sekigahara. What should be the main focus of SW3? |

I think that SW3 should have a more "mixed" focus ie focus on various things instead of just one event/series of events/battle. A combination of the "focus" of SW1 and SW2 would work as well. |

What Red Knight said. The idea of focusing on one event or small series of events is too limiting for such a broad topic. I want variety, not the same missions over and over again like in SW2

Thanks for your sharing with me. Maybe you are right. Koei seems to be too focused on having Sekigahara in SW2 that some characters like Ginchiyo, Yoshihiro, and even Mitsunari were not so developed. I mean, the whole "Oath of Friendship" thing is stupid. Kanetsugu may have been friends with Keiji because both were under Kagekatsu Uesugi, but the oath thing is dumb. In reality, Yukimura, Kanetsugu, and Mitsunari werent that close. Back to the topic, SW3 should focus on everyone. I mean in SW2 seems to me that because Western Army full of (pretty) boys that makes them heroes while Eastern Army have old guys like Ieyasu and Tadakatsu they became villains. SW3 should not be like that. Like for example, Yukimuras's story should focus on his struggle with his dad and he helped the Toyotomi after years of exile not about honor and fighting the "evil" Ieyasu. SW3 should focus on everyones personality etc. |

I think by this point, all major portions of the "3 Unifiers" era have already been taken care of. While SW1's main focus was all pre-1582 and Nobunaga, SW2 has pretty much done everything after that, focusing on both the rises of Hideyoshi and Ieyasu. The only thing to do at this point is to show an even balance of the 2 eras; perhaps take out some of the more minor battles, and not make Sekigahara an overly abused stage. The major stages, if they will do that, should be: Okehazama, 4th Kawanakajima, Anegawa, Odani, Ise-Nagashima, Nagashino, Tedorigawa, Honojji, Yamazaki, Shizugatake, Komaki-Nagakute, Shikoku, Kyushu, Odawara Castle, Sekigahara, Osaka Castle. As to what minor battles they can add as icebreakers, perhaps the Sengoku historians here can answer that. Of course naturally if those were the only stages, it would be DW2 all over again with boring story stages. On the other hand each stage needs to be individualized with story, but not to the point of playing the same exact Sekigahara all over again. I'd say, do the Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 route, and have each character have a certain amount of story mode stages; important guys like Yukimura and Tadakatsu could have a longer amount of stages while others like Nene or Yoshimoto could have a few. Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu, on the other hand, have to go the same way as Cao Cao, Sun Jian and Liu Bei in DW5; they have the longest story modes. |
