KOEI Warriors is happy to announce that we will be launching a new cosplay site entitled, Cosplay Warriors, which will be dedicated to all KOEI Cosplayers and people who want to cosplay as their favorite characters.

The site is still currently in development and won't be released til later this year. You can check out the splash site now.

The only people I have ever seen that actually had costumes that looked like they should were in that video clip about DW6 that was shown on this site a little while ago.

That's not very nice to say. You need to understand that people put a lot of effort and commitment in their cosplay. It's not like putting together a model of a car where you have to just put together pieces and paint them. It's more like looking at a picture of a car and then creating that car from scratch.

Some people may not have access to certain materials or have the budget to create certain outfits. And not everyone is a professional tailor or kniter either. I hope you realize this.

No, it's actually the song "A Ways Away" from the Dynasty Warriors 6 Soundtrack.

Hmm...That was harsh, and I doubt you have seen enough to comment.

And no.... both of us aren't in that video. *grins*

Besides, unless you are cosplayer yourself who have been through the painful process of making the entire costume, I do not expect you to know how much effort it takes to complete a project - only to be judged by ignorant parties overlooking the main reason/purpose of Cosplay and a Coser's passion.

Wow! An own side for all the cosplayers! That's great!

I only hope there will be more activity over there, than has been here recently.

@Cyrus: O.O Impressive!

@Veganto: ... have you ever really looked through the page or visited pages like cosplay.com or cosplaylab? I doubt it from your comment.

@Jsun: If I can, I'd love to help out. :)

Taking a look at the cosplay section here at KW would be enough to prove the incorrectness of that statement <_<.

Thanks Jsun, for everything you've done. Hopefully word will spread about this project so that we can get as many cosplayers involved as possible!

I think at the moment, our goal for the site is for it to be a "archive" so to speak of Koei cosplayers and their costumes. We'll have the costumes sorted by game & character so that the cosplayers can submit them with ease for an easily accessible gallery that fans from all over can enjoy.

Ghetto Website for Koei Komics!

Anything really. If you want to help with the design, structure, or even suggestions for the banner or logo or ideas in general.

This site is for 'you guys' (KOEI Cosplayers) so we want it to be very interactive and special.

I was thinking maybe Cosplayer Galleries as well with just mini bios and such.

The photos would be organized by Video Game then Character too. Like what Manji said.

I didn't want to insult anybody, the Ma Chao one does look really good. What I kind of meant was, most people cosplaying don't understand that you do actually need a lot of money for the right materials for costumes in order for it to work. What's the point of trying to look like DW6 Zhao Yun and then coming in with a towel over your arm and carboard armorplates? Also, you kinda need to look like the person you want to cosplay if that person displays face and some bodyparts. For instance, if you want to do SSX, you can't be 1.90 meters tall and obese.

I would never want to cosplay myself, but I do think it's cool if people actually succeed.

Just to make sure, the page will be for Cosplayers, portraiying characters from the Dynasty, Samurai or Warriors Orochi-Series, right?

Yes that is correct. I don't think I will include anything relating to Sengoku Basara/Devil Kings.

Okay. I might have the time to do some graphic suggestions for a biography layout this weekend, if you have use for it?

What you said is true - about people who don't put in enough effort, about people who might not LOOK like the character...

But then again - Cosplay isn't for the audiences alone.
Its FOR the cosplayer...
What's most important is about HAVING FUN with the character..
so I really do not expect everyone to have the right looks nor have the right materials...

Of course for my team and I - we honestly go for STANDARDS right down to the last details, but that's our personal challenge.

Cosplay is FREE FOR ALL - any coser can do whatever he or she liked. Each to their own goals/achievements and their own fun in their own way.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I wish to take this opportunity to POINT OUT though...

Many viewers/cosplayers alike have this following misconception:
ARMOUR/Heavy looking armors doesn't actually mean its more pro.
Cloth cosplays are actually equally if not HARDER to achieve than armor-looking costumes...

Sounds surprising?
1. Not if you have to dye your cloth to look exactly the same, the way you treat the fabric, the way your FABRIC MOVES..

2. You can always PATCH your armor when you make mistakes.
Cloth leaves no room for mistakes.

3. Its easy to DRAW designs on hard surfaces and spray paint them down. The usual would be - hot glue glue...spray. Simple.

TRY drawing faint lines/designs on the cloth
e.g the dragon/clouds designs on Akechi Mitsuhide's SW2 Hakama......
I bet that will make you screw your brains out.

Once again, you are one of those who get into the illusion that things that look SOLID = PRO. Wrong.

That Ma Chao may have been a good job done yes...
Its freakin' heavy because he used solid Epoxy to mould that entire helmet. Do not overlook the cloth bits either - they were equally hard to produce/draft. I did those parts.. and likewise it wasn't easy getting all that gradients & patterns on Ma Chao/Nouhime's cloth...

*yes, I just want some credit for the whole bunch of shitwork my boyfriend put me through muahahhahahahahah :P LOL* nyahahha~

But its true man, its time to give cloth people a cheer!!! :)

Bingo! I'd say that probably 90% of cosplayers aren't making their costumes to win any awards. We're doing it to have fun. For goodness sakes, we're dressing up like video game characters!

On another note, I think this website sounds like a wonderful idea!

Hahas Cyrus, I TOTALLY agree with you. Cloth's difficult, but it's more fun (personally).

Armour/Props are interesting as there are many ways to do so and through the experimentation, you discover new methods.

Just wanted to give word, that the bio-designs are in the making, but I probably won't be able to finish them/load them up until august.

Cosplay-Session and vacation are using up my free time ;P
