So any way....seeing the latest vid was quite nice. Even so...

Kindly remember that yours certainly won't be the only game in town this summer, much less the rest of the year. I may be a BASARA fan, but just yesterday alone, I bore witness to several things that I'm sure I want, and will have to give me pause as I figure out my "gaming budget" for the months ahead.

You want a piece of my gaming budget? Then make a valid case for me to maintain my interest levels in SB3. Because right now, you stand to be in direct competition with some games I've been waiting a GOOD while to see more of, and also slated to be out very, very soon. SB3 may get pushed to "B" or even *GASP* "C" tier level of my budget if you don't do something about it~! :hehe:

And yes, I agree completely with what you said and that's why I said I care more about new gameplay mechanics than characters. I mean, ok, we all love SB, but it's basically the same game, gameplaywise, since the first one. We had additions like the Sengoku Drive, being able to equip three accessories and lots of weapons but the core game stays the same.

Now I don't want Capcom to change what Basara IS. I want some stuff like missions with more complexity to them, changes in the S-Strings, fun modes for multiplayer... it's gonna be the first game in this current generation, and even if they have to develop for the Wii too, they have substantially more power to play with. We now you love making this, so don't let us down, Koba.

@wodash: Is that so? So hooray again for reading comprehension fail on my part. Hoo-ray.

missions with more complexity means losing its BASARA-ness IMO,what parts this game with the musou games are a one package of "superior gameplay and simple missions so you can concentrate on kicking @$$",sure having strategies&objectives would make sunday mouri's battles look more interesting but still...

and hey,SBBH had tried to make missions more complex,i guess it works quite well but let those stuffs be side attractions if they were to be implemented on SB3,perhaps on conquest only.

cannot agree more for better gameplay,but i think when its not broken(yet) do not fix it,btw is the prime system gone again?didnt see any yellows in the vids................bummer

hey i noticed that too i like the prime feature but combos are better (like in DW and SW)

Aw, too bad. Seems like the update dates are filled somewhat from the 18th onward which means that we have two open slots. I assume that Maggie's video is next in line for this Thursday, but what about next week? Do you think they'll put up a video of Honda, or something else entirely?

If they're in the order they're supposed to be, Tadakatsu is supposed to be next. Hopefully we'll another character trailer after the next four characters. Those are the best.

There's also a cutscenes-only video shown at Jump Festa, featuring more or less all revealed characters up to Maggie and Keiji. I wonder if this will fill the other empty slot?

In other news, Yoshihiro's got some better skills but his Basara remains the same, apparently...oh well...

Yoshihiro's shout skill acts as a regular attack now?
Along with the videos shown so far, I hope this doesn't mean the priming system was removed.
Especially for Yoshihiro, without priming he goes from Chesto to full-blown Castrato!

Drat, thats a shame about the site renewal. Still, the new portal looks nice and flashy, but I hope the CGI boy band esque image isn't the box art. Comparing the other box designs, SB2 is much more attractive than the rest (Although, X's is pretty sweet). I'm hoping its just a place holder until we get our Tsuchi art...

Speaking of Tsuchi's art, I was hoping we'd see some when the site was renewed, but seeing as thats not the case any longer, I wonder just when they'll reveal some. I know we shouldn't expect that many, but some art of the new characters would be nice. CGIs great and all, but Tsuchi's pieces have style and a certain flair to them. I'm already diggin' the new comers designs, so no doubt I'll like them even more in Tsuchi style.

On another note, Yoshihiro looks cool. A shame about his apparently unchanged Basara though :/
Still, the screen where he's clashing with Mitsunari is bad ass and stage looks pretty beasty as well.

Well, February is here and perhaps we'll get another batch to go with it?
The update pattern on the site is kind of random, but if I had to take a shot, I'll say we'll get Maggie this week... next week isn't too easy though. We could either get the Jump Festa vid NDY stated, or perhaps another game play vid, but who of? And if we do get a game play vid, does that mean we'll be getting one every week... hmm.

Hmm, I'm just hoping we'd get a new info batch in this month, because if there's no new batches in an entire month, then I'm afraid I'll start to doubt whether the game would have as much contents as we thought... >.<

A terrifying thought to be sure. In any case if we are going to get a batch this month I expect it'll come in the middle of the month. Is there any indication that we might get a batch at all anyway? Between the Maggie batch and the Kanbei one there was like almost 3 months of nothing right?

Not necessarily I guess. I mean, the missions don't have to have a slower pace like SW's, but I'd like more variety to them than just "go from point A from point B manslaughtering". Not that this is not fun. It is. A lot. But something new wouldn't hurt either.

And I've been thinking since SB2 now about what MantaPunk said about art. I mean, even in that game they were already art Tsuchibayashi made for the first SB. And then they came up with that lousy low budget anime-style character art in Heroes and that almost made me puke in my mouth. And they hired the same studio from Weiss Kreuz anime to work on it. Weiss friggin Kreuz. The anime where objects seem to be floating in the air all the time. But I digress.

I'm still waiting for Koba to tell us there's gonna be some way to unlock all NPCs and transform them into PCs. Don't stop. Believiiiiiiiiiiiing.

^well,chicks (used to?,i mean its OLD) dig weiss>.< can blame capcom for that,it is 100% approved that fangirls>fanboys regarding SB(not counting overseas)

i do agree about the HEROES bit though,ugly as hell,tsuchi>3d>that SB2H artwork,but i guess if they had budget they will go 3d instead since it will attract casual gamers,i do hope they changed their mind and use tsuchi's art as the character select portrait for the JP version and 3d for the US version,just like SB1~DK thing

err,using yoshihiro as an "i miss priming/priming is important!" example is pretty weird

priming helps to gain BASARA faster and gain combos quicker,yoshihiro is a one hit kill guy,as we all know,his BASARA attack is mediocre,and that he excels at racking body counts instead of combo count,which is also a part of his main game>kill lots of grunts>use drive>kill boss using OHKO,prime was never an important part of chesto's gameplay.......

haven't seen masa~yuki vid except the very old one,but IIRC their BASARA is also unchanged?

While everything looks AMAZING, IMO. There could be so much more.
It would be nice, but it would kill the hype too quickly. Anyone who followed SSBB would know that the joy of waiting for that next batch of info is more addicting than the info itself. Or is that just me? :blink:

I really hope this lack of info is due to Koba trying to bait us rather than there not being that much info left. The game would suck if it was the latter. -_-

Gotta agree with ya, WT.

...Hate to bring it up, but I DO remember KOFXII. A game that a) looked very pretty, b) took them years to make, c) had a lot of promise but sadly d) was severely gimped, content-wise.

Hopefully, such a thing is far removed from the end result that will be SB3. But they really need to step it up, all the same, marketing wise. Again, there's a good deal of time left, but not THAT much time before we'll blink and it's summer time.

Capcom. Koba. Stop draggin' your ass, already.

oh god,XII.........

the difference between SB3&KOFXII to me is:i never liked XII from the start,from the moment they have a hulk sized ralf jones shown in one of the really early screenshots

the game is mighty ugly compared to XI and i never look for any info of it since then,and no,even if the had the whole XI cast brought back it will still look ugly,the lack of cast,story,gameplay(where's the dynamic shifting?),and a BOSS was just the tip of the iceberg

maximum impact 2 RA actually starts to look interesting when you compared it to XII

as for SB3,i was pleased since the first batch of vids was leaked,the old characters didnt lose their touch,the new ones looks mighty interesting,and they shown it in details,unlike SBBH(which does not reveal its "weaknesses" until it was too late,like skill limitations and NO BASARA)

so yeah,as long as they don't radically change it halfway before release this will still look good in all aspects,since the downsides are nothing but trivial to me....

Masa's Basara is unchanged, don't know about Yukimura's.

And yeah, as much as I like KOF XII, it's a severely lacking game. Hope Capcom doesn't go the SNK way of life and Koba's has still a lot to show us.

well,since the main guys BASARA is unchanged its safe to say that all of the returning old characters will have their BASARA unchanged unless they sport new "age/version" like ieyasu(in this case its either musashi/itsuki)
