...Further confused. Why would they meet? What signifigance would there even be if they met? Whats the point of this anyway? Sigh, can't Musou and Basara stay seperate? Thats my only wish. >.<Anyway, Takayama Ukon is a fairly unlikely choice, but he would be cool to see in this game, not as cool as Mototada, but cool nonetheless. |

Then Mago would have finally found the most beautiful girl in all Japan. Then probably get Kanetsugu'd back into his own game. Got to love those one-hit kills. |

Wow the Magoichi gameplay is amazing, I was really afraid of another boring gun moveset like Nou. The stage also looks great, with 4 unique Generals to fight including Naoe Kanetsugu who's sword seems frozen in the scabbard. |

I just saw Magoichi's gameplay...gotta say, she may make up for Kojuuro's playable absence along with Tokugawa. She just has an amazing fighting style, and her guns are actually very long-ranged in comparison to nouhime's. I love how she tosses those grenades into crowds. Also love that epic camera angle at the start of her basara, where she tosses all her guns into the air. |

Hey Hakumei, long time no see! How have you been doing? It's nice to see that Maggie's vid kind of "united all our hearts"...they better make good use of this momentum and start releasing gameplay vids once every two weeks... If the game comes out in July, that would mean another 8-9 vids. Which is kind of difficult, maybe...but not impossible....is it....? Kurokan Tsuruhime Mogami Yoshiaki Chacha Todo Takatora Shima Sakon Ukita Hideie Kobayakawa Hideaki Hosokawa Tadaoki or Gracia All pretty relevant Sekigahara figures, imho (I tried to compile a list of all the characters with the higher chances of appearing, so if you have any objections, objection away!) |

If that were the case, then I guess we wont be seeing gameplay for the returning characters. Not that it matters, I suppose we do get to see them in action somewhat in the other videos. But if Kobapii hadn't left it so late, then we might have seen all of them

They could always do some long trailers like the TGS one showing multiple people in them and use that to show some of the old character's new tricks. |

While I wouldn't hold my breath, it certainly doesn't seem impossible. I'm just hoping that this whole "video-every-other-week" is something that will continue. But I have my doubts. Say that this continues, and we get a gameplay video of Kurokan in two weeks, i.e. the 25th together with Tsuru's voice. That means that two weeks after that, at the 11th of March we would get Tsuru's video. The next video would then appear the 25th of March, the next date where there is no clear update planned. Hold on...this could actually work. If we were to get the video's in the way I described, then the 25th would be a good place for the next batch to be revealed. After that though, I don't want to speculate on what might/will happen. While still doubt this system, it could happen. We'll just have to patient and see what happens. You know, I don't want to see any gameplay video's for the returning characters. It's obvious that there hasn't been much change in their playing style, so I'd rather let their new skills and such remain unseen in action until I'm able to play them myself. |

These are all very important figures indeed. I noticed you didn't mention Hanzo. Was that intentional? Given the series' progress so far, there's a slight chance he won't make it to the Basaraverse. Koba might think he can make the series famous without one of the era's most notorious figures. I had to investigate a few of them and noticed most are "pro-Tokugawa", so to speak. Are there any other notable "pro-Mitsunari" figures other than Sakon? I think that the main sides will get at least one more retainer. As for others, I'd like to see ChaCha being the mastermind behind Sekigahara, as some over-elaborated plot to destroy the land as vengeance for her parents' deaths and being deprived of a "normal" life. But I seriously doubt Koba would have the guts to give a woman the spotlight in this series... |

Well so far we have Mitsunari, Yoshitsugu, Motochika, Motonari (representing his grandson), Yoshihiro and Yukimura. I'm wondering if Keiji will chose to remain neutral or join the Western alliance, since he's meant to be part of the Uesugi. Musashi too, if he returns. As far as new characters are concerned, there are the staples like Shima Sakon and the second-in-command Ukita Hideie. We also have yet to have representatives from the Otomo or Tachibana clans. Kobayakawa Hideaki and Kikkawa Hiroie could also be included, as they are famous as the ones who betrayed the army and led to its downfall. |

@ Balder: I didn't omit Hanzo on purpose...I was thinking of another character for Ieyasu's forces, and the first who came to mind was Takatora. Maybe it'd be better, if Capcom is thinking of avoiding characters already used by Koei... Thanks to the new type of story mode, Kobayakawa can easily go either way. And honestly there doesn't seem to be a shred of loyalty in the west for now...everyone's out for their own goals, and even Yoshitsugu seems to be just using Mitsunari imho. But it's too early to tell, of course... |

It's kinda hard for Capcom and KOEI to not use the same characters. They're both working with the same timeline, and therefore have the same "character pool" (as I call it) to work with. Capcom could BS with characters that are fictional (Kasuga), semi-fctional (Sasuke), and out-of-place (Tsuruhime), but that can only go so far. And KOEI's just as guilty; for example, Motonari has been in Basara throughout its run, while he just got introduced into SW in the third installment. Really, it matters less on who the characters are, and more on how they are represented, if ya know what I mean. And while you guys may be looking for more pro-Mitsunari guys, I'm actually looking for more pro-Ieyasu right now. Looking at the generals right now, both PC and NPC, and it looks like Mitsunari currently has the advantage. I'm hoping it gets balanced a little bit. |

By the I saw in the Magoichi gameplay, she can't be an Nouhime copy. Mago has an variety of fire arms diversified, different than Nouhime, who have some arms. But Kanetsugu... His design is better than the old games, but he still ridicullous. Makes sense. Otherwise, Basara don't will be nothing more than an Samurai Warriors copy. @ Watchtower Of course you're right, but if you specifically look at the Sekigahara timeline, there are still many (relatively) important figures neither company has introduced yet. And if Capcom thinks it ok to use relatively obscure characters like Tsuruhime, I'm sure they can manage introducing characters Koei hasn't used for a long time. Especially if they aren't strict about timelines... For example: The Saitos (Dosan, Yoshitatsu, Tatsuoki, Toshimitsu) The Murakami/Suwa in Kanto (to add some spice between the Takeda and the Uesugi) More clans in Oshu (Tsugaru, Nanbu) that would add more variety to Masamune's storylines... Same thing in Chugoku and Kyushu (Ouchi + Sue, Amago + Yamanaka, Ryuzoji + Nabeshima, Otomo + Tachibana [even though having Tachibana Dousetsu, Takahashi Shoun and Yoshihiro Akimasa (IIRC) as a new group similar to the Gohon Yari would be swell]) They could even add some king from the Ryukyu for the hell of it.... We could all create a list together and then create a Basara ballot when the next game comes out, lol Edited by Nine Demons Yoshitaka, Sun Feb 14, 2010 3:51 am.

That´s why I really hope they make use of their decision to concentrate on Sekigahara. That´s why I was even more shocked when I heard Kanetsugu is a NPC But I guess that´s just because he allways was the running gag since SB2. But now would really be the time to add characters like Ukita Hideie, Todo Takatora, Kobayakwa Hideaki, Mogami Yoshiaki, Hosokawa Tadaoki and Sasaki Kojiro. Ukita Hideie is an important figure in the Sekigahara wars, he was also one of the most loyal Toyotomi supporters. He should really be added. Todo Takatora is not only important for Sekigahara but generally would a nice addition to BASARA. He did not only serve the Azai but also the Oda, Toyotomi and the Tokugawa. Many story possibilities for him in future games. I don´t have to say much about Kobayakwa Hideaki. About Mogami Yoshiaki too (BTW is Tetsu Shiratori´s site up again, BK, or is it still taken down thanks to the slip up )Hosokawa Tadaoki and Sasaki Kojiro would also be nice additions. Hosokawa Tadaoki participated in Sekigahara, was a good friend of Ieyasu, formerly served the Oda, married Mitsuhide´s daughter Gracia and was a christian man. Again much story possibilitys and finally Zabi could have a real supporter Sasaki Kojiro, of course, is here for one thing: To represent the most famous duel of japan. Do you really need more reason? Well he was said to have been able to cut swallows during their flight. Now that´s cool...I hope he´s in, with a huge katana like Sephiroth Hmmm...now I just stumbled upon something else...wasn´t there supposed to be some kind of second season of a certain BASARA anime? If we assume that it´ll have 12 episodes again and comes out weekly that´d be 3 months worth of "making the droughts a bit interesting". I guess we´ll see the anime around mid-april again since the release of the game is around july/august probably. (and could there be a better way to advertise BASARA 3 a view times than in a BASARA anime? )

I agree. We'll probably be seeing a roster very similar to that. You never know with Kobayashi though. Tsuru came completely out of nowhere, so I won't be surprised if we get a totally unrelated character or even fictional one. Though, with all these fan favourites being cut, I wouldn't think fictional characters would be the... smart way to go. Also, on the subject of none of the Western characters truly supporting Mitsunari, I guess you could say the same for the East. Kanbei seems to be out to conquer the land and Tsuru has it in for Aniki. Can't remember why Masamune joined up with Ieyasu... was it because he had his ass handed to him by Mitsunari? Whatever the case, it seems like Hondam is the only one fighting for Ieyasu's sake and at least Yoshitsugu is looking out for Mitsunari... Hopefully we'll get another loyalist for each army... perhaps the one who launched the assault on Shikoku? Anyway, has anyone else noticed the ending scenes aren't as... fun as in SB2? It seems it only zooms in on the character's face while they mutter something. In SB2H, we had some golden ones, such as Yoshimoto being chased by a dog. I dunno, I guess they seem kinda boring in comparison. Also, about the anime, aren't some of the newer characters supposed to be making appearances? With this and the manga, if Koba truly is treating us to many new characters, these long waits for info isn't doing anyone good. Edited by Manta Punk, Sun Feb 14, 2010 5:42 pm.

You think this decreases Zabii and Istuki's chances of returning? I'm not really bothered about them, just curious. Whose side is Magoichi meant to be on? Or is it her own side?
Probably because this game is supposed to be all serious serious in comparison

own side, the saika, very obvious since she never speaks for herself, always addressing to the saika faction, there is no "I" in "team" i guess.....but that does not mean she will not ally with someone else..
nobunaga's win scene in ALL SB game was DEAD SERIOUS,that does not reduce the fun of it,although i do feel sorry for the cameraman,IIRC in my SB2H its the 200th cameraman that got shot before i stop playing.... the "current" SB3 win scene was not fun to watch, period. |
