That's usually what I imagine. It makes me sad that water is always so badly represented in games in general. Usually water is substituted with ice, or having healing or status changing abilities. It's just annoying that it makes water seem like a element without any destructive qualities, which is just silly. You just have to shape it a bit differently then with obvious destructive elements such as fire and lightning. So yes, yes water. See, I was thinking something like a crescent blade as well, but it lacks that certain BASARA flair I think. It needs to be something a bit more unique. A sickle would be the most fitting as a crescent shape, but it doesn't feel completely right either. Hmm... I'm going to have to think more about this... Edited by Ouelis, Mon Mar 1, 2010 12:00 am.

Maybe something like this could work for him: Spoiler: click to toggle He could have one of them in each hand and fight with close range slashing attacks sort of like how Kasuga slices people with her Kunai. Maybe a couple of his specials could involve him tossing them like boomerangs. Then again that sounds like it could be too similar to Nene and Kunoichi's style from the SW games so *shrug*. |

It's a rather silly idea, but about a kine? You know, the wooden mallets used to pound mochi. I recalled that instrument because of the Japanese folk legend about the rabbit on the moon pounding mochi. Basically I was thinking of a weapon with "lunar connotations". Just my lunatic two cents on the matter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_rabbit http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Making_mochi_with_an_Usu_and_Kine.jpg And I like the idea for the water element. They could also add earth elemental that granted "super armor" to some attacks - the character could take one hit without having the attack animation interrupted. |

So I found a nice topic on 2ch with many lines taken from the game (via the TGS demo). It's gonna be a bit long but there are some interesting things too. I'll put it all in a spoiler so it doesn't make this post too huge. Spoiler: click to toggle

Thanks for this NDY, it was really interesting. You can learn a little bit more about their personalites. I especially liked Masamune's lines, even though he didn't have very many. Ieyasu has changed a lot, but there are hints that he's still quite idealistic. And jeez Emonari, lay off the angst a little will you... |

Wow...for Ieyasu to call Sengoku BASARA Nobunaga and Hideyoshi Heroes... And since Ieyasu is supposed to be the one to have killed that Hero...strange thing to say, ain´t it? I guess Ieyasu and Mitsunari really were set up afterall |

Hmm...I don't know if I can say that I believe that they were set up, as much as would like that to be the case. It just doesn't fit in with everything that's been said so far in my mind. That being said, I completely agree that it's a strange thing for him to say. But who knows? Maybe a certain glorious bastard is at the center of this whole affair...

Yeah...some glorious bastard... It´s not long anymore till we know if we´ll further chew on air or if we finally get some new characters to sink our imagination teeth into. Though at this point I a) don´t expect anything at all b) would be satisfied with a silhouette or just some hint on who the next characters might be Edited by Matsunaga Hisahide, Mon Mar 1, 2010 10:32 pm.

Well, its within reason to expect something tomorrow (or this week, for that matter) since it was confirmed. If we do get nothing, then some jackass has some explaining to do. So were going to see soimething in Famitsu. And If Matsunaga is indeed in, something tells me we'll have to wait a VERY long time to see hime. And i don't like the sound of him being the Mastmind behind everything, because that is a massive plothole. Sure he is a big shitdisturber, and he likes messing up peoples lives anc causing chaos, but he just doesn't strike me as someone to plan a full scale war like this, sure he will push people to do certain things, like with Hideyoshi, but what they do is up to them, so he may be a branch cause for the war, but it should really boil down to something else. Heres hoping he does play a good part in this game though . =) |

He´s like a little jester, throwing in some pranks and watches at the sideline at how people accuse each other and start to get mad. Just that those pranks involve taking hostages, burn down castles and temples, stab and assasinate people and thus create some full scale wars If he´s in...and I really hope for a certain somebody he´s in...then he´ll definietly have a hand in it all. But he´s surely not the main reason. As I´ve said, he´s just a little jester, that pranks people a bit. How people react to those pranks and what they´ll learn from them, is up to destiny. Not up to him

Depending on what word Ieyasu used that translates to "hero," it doesn't necessarily mean a "good guy" hero. |

Yeah, I have a feeling it's meant more in the way of showing respect then admiration. Is it really "confirmed" that we'll see something this week? I know that it was stated in the end of the last manga chapter, but is there indication from other sources as well? It seems to be an accepted fact at this point, but I feel that I've been burned too many times at this point so I try not to expect things. Kinda sad really .Man, Matsunaga has to be a PC. He has to! Please! What do you want from me Koba!? I am but a man! I AM BUT A MAN! *ahem* |

Yeah, hero was probably a bad translation...the japanese was "eiyuu" (英雄). You can see it in SB2/H a little too, but even if he doesn't agree with their methods, Ieyasu has respect for Nobunaga (and Hideyoshi too, I guess)... Anyway, 2ch is down since yesterday because of a massive cyberattack on its servers. I don't know when it'll get back up、but it's improbable we'll get the spoiler information from there this week...I wonder if there are any other sources.... |

Thanks for the clarification. I had a feeling it would be something like that. Although, I don't think the respect thing is anything new for Ieyasu. Didn't he always call him Nobunaga-Ko when referring to Oda in the games and anime? I presume he did similar for Hideyoshi but I can't remember seeing them converse anytime I played. Also for some reason the first thing I thought of reading about 2ch was "are their servers run on PS3s?" . Ah today was a good day.

Yeah, even as little Take he always gave them both respect when addressing them. It's been awhile since I last played but I'm pretty sure he addressed most of the Top Dudes (Nobunaga, Shingen, etc) with some form of respect. And it sucks 2ch has been down for so long (such a silly reason too...). Gonna keep looking around some other japanese sites for spoilers but I dunno how much there'll be out there without 2ch. Anyways, here's to hoping we finally get some info this week, and the the info in general starts to pick up the pace this month. Knowing that damn old Koba though... |

Cool I knew was I remembering that correctly. You mentioning the name Takechiyo got me to remember all the different nick / alt names / titles a ton of the characters had. Which got me to thinking: Did BASARA ever use the Hashiba name w/ Hideyoshi, or was he always Toyotomi? I would think that if it was used that it would have been in the Keiji Gaiden from 2H. However, iirc Keiji just called him Hideyoshi so I couldn't say one way or the other if he was Hashiba back then or not. PS: Cool new Trafalgar Law ava. |

The 2ch servers are being revived one by one as I write this post. Hopefully everything will return to normal by the end of the day. If there's still no SB3 info in this week's Famitsu, I'll wonder what is contained about the game in that new Jump SQ issue which should be out soon. |

Okay, apparently they have ended the server revival session for today, but unfortunately the 'essential' servers haven't been revived yet (the schiphol server which hosts the history game board, anchorage server where game news board is in, and the dubai server which hosts game hard forum where most leaks come first) |
