I'm not sure that big enemy is an actual character in the game, I really don't think Kobayashi would reveal someone that way. Remember the big giant statues? It's probably just a unique enemy like that...

Edit: Since the Basara2Heroes thread is pretty much dead, I figured I'd ask here. Does anyone know where I can check out the alternate costumes for everyone in SB2H? Just wondering if all of them were collected anywhere. Thanks

Or it could be the hellish mutant offspring of Hideyoshi.

....HIDEYORI?

Nah. I'm probably insane for thinking so.

I have no expectations for this game, so I cannot be disappointed. Yay.

Actually, I don't think it'll be that long this time. If thing progress the way it looks like right now, we should be seeing something new in the Famitsu out two weeks from now. Of course I could always be wrong about that, but I'm feeling pretty confidant about it. In any case, we have Aniki's video next week to look forward to.

I forgot to mention that apparently Oichi is venerated as "Demon King (Queen?) of the 5th Heaven" by the Oda loyalists who worshipped Nobunaga.

I doubt she's following Mitsu-err, Tenkai (they would have mentioned it, right?) so maybe there's someone else...? No idea...

I wonder if she will have a stage for herself...maybe Gifu castle? Since that's where the Oda were stationed at Sekigahara....

I think she should have some interactions with Tenkai, since he is the only person alive who would know a lot about her past, could be an good story there, especially if Ichi is looking for her memories.

Oichi venerated as "Demon King Queen of the 5th Heaven" by the Oda loyalists who worshipped Nobunaga.
Sounds like a very interesting premise. I guess it explains the Oda crest besides her. Seems we'll be seeing more of those mooks and their trendy black armors.
For stage, I'm betting on either Gifu or a ruined Azuchi castle.
Given her deity status, I think we may find a more imposing Oichi this time around. Her Extreme Doormat days are over!
And I hope she's going "solo". Shibata's presence would downplay her importance and completely disconsider Nagamasa's role in her Basara life.

Anyway, if I'm not mistaken the 6th Heaven refered to the Human world (desires?). That said, what does the 5th Heaven refer to? I couldn't make Google cough up an answer and I'm actually quite interested in knowing if there's some symbolism/subtle message beneath this title.

I don't really know much about it myself so I would love to know more as well. This is what NDY translated in his SB2H Story/Gaiden Translation FAQ at the end of her story (after the final battle):

Quote:

Nobunaga: In this world there is not one place of rest..
Thus build the place you desire,
and subdue that heaven..
Keraku..Demon King of the 5th...heaven...*

Note:
*The fifth of the six heavens of desire.
Who lives here crafts a land of his own liking
and lives until 80 years old.

Edit: I found this website just now:
http://www.bhaisajyaguru.com/buddhist-ayurveda-encylopedia/six_desire_heavens_lyou-yu-tyan.htm

Reading what is says about the 5th and 6th Heavens seems like it fits Oichi and Nobunaga.

Quote:

V. Transformation of Bliss Heaven

Those who are devoid of desire, but who will engage in it for the sake of their partner, even though the flavor of doing so is like the flavor of chewing on wax, are born at the end of their lives in a place of transcending transformations. They are among those born in the Heaven of Bliss by Transformation. (SS VII 204)

VI. Heaven of Comfort Gained from Transformation of Others' Bliss

Those who have no kind of worldly thoughts while doing what worldly people do, who are lucid and beyond such activity while involved in it, are capable at the end of their lives of entirely transcending states where transformations may be present and may be lacking. they are among those born in the Heaven of the Comfort from Others' Transformations. (SS VII 205)

'The gods of the Heaven of Comfort Gained through Transformation of Others' Bliss obtain their bliss through transforming it away from other heavens. [Many of] those who live in this heaven are neither genuine spirits nor immortals but heavenly demons.' (SPV 54)

AdawgDaFAB,
Thanks for the guideline. That "Keraku" was enough a clue for a more successful search.

Here's what I found,

Heaven of Enjoying the Conjured
[化楽天・楽変化天] (Skt Nirmanarati; Jpn Keraku-ten or Rakuhenge-ten)

Also, Nirmanarati Heaven. The fifth of the six heavens in the world of desire. It is located above the Tushita Heaven and below the Heaven of Freely Enjoying Things Conjured by Others, the highest heaven of the world of desire. In this heaven, the occupants conjure objects of pleasure and enjoy various delights. Inhabitants of the Heaven of Enjoying the Conjured are said to live for eight thousand years, one day of which is equal to eight hundred human years. The life span of beings in this heaven, then, is equal to about 2.3 billion human years.

EDIT:
AdawgDaFAB,
Just noticed the texts you added after making my own little search.
Thanks. They were quite informative and indeed seem to fit the characters rather nicely. But I hope it doesn't mean that Oichi will be deprived of her spotlight by someone else...
On a side note, I recall reading that Luís Fróis took note that Nobunaga did actually refer to himself as the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven (at least on one occasion).

Isnīt that what Nobunaga said to her, when she killed him? The story about the 5th Demon King?

So there maybe a connection...itīs getting deeper and deeper. :shifty:

So now, that my expectations are on level 1, Iīm starting to scratch a lot of people.

BUT I DEMAND (I bet Seraphil is with me here):

Mogami Yoshiaki, Ukita Hideie, Todo Takatora. Those are the Sekigahara characters THAT JUST HAVE TO BE IN THERE.

Though, if instead of Takatora, Hosokawa Tadaoki was added...well...it would be better if we had both, but at least itīs a strong eastern ally.

Since now the inclusion of Musashi as a playable is doubtfull, the adding of Sasaki Kojiro would be more than useless.

And it seems the Tokugawa wonīt get another retainer, no Hattori Hanzo, no Torii Mototada, no Ii Naomasa, so once again, Ieyasu gets the usual treatment.

And as it seems, we wonīt be seeing a Tachibana or Amago representation, cause at the moment, the roster size doesnīt allow for such grand adds.

So I even doubt "Demon Shibata" is added here, though I wonder whose side heīd fight for...his own? Again?

If I think that way, I wonīt be dissapointed.

...though the three are a MUST.
I mean Yoshiaki was spoiled long ago, he has to be there...and
Cīmon Koba, itīs Sekigahara, add at least one character for the east that ACTUALLY FOUGHT on the battlefield and the second in command of the western army, who acutally did all the fighting, not that pen pusher Mitsunari. :hmmm:

Yamanaka Shikanosuke, loyal Aamgo retainer, the crescent moon samurai, who calls himself son of the moon, cause he was born under a cresecent moon.

The man whoīd hate Motonari more than anyone. The perfect rival.

Why am I saying that again? Cause Motonari just gave me the perfect color for him: His alternate costume

Posted Image

That shining white/silver...I think thatīd work best for Motonariīs rival. While he represents the warm shining sun, that fills the plants (thus that plant/green look) with live, Shikanosuke would represent the cold and chilly night, thatīs been covered under the silver/white light of the moon.

Oh, what the heck.

Iīll still hope for more characters. Afterall Koba said that there are a lot of new characters.

5 isnīt a lot. Even with Hideaki and Ieyasu counted in, itīs not a lot. A lot is at least 12. And he said itīs a big roster.

So, damn, even if Iīve been let down more than once (cut characters, NPCified characters, Naoe Kanetsugu, Kobayakawa Hideaki) Iīll trust him.

I wonīt judge him anymore, till Iīve seen everything of the game. Thereīs still 4 months to go, the least. If we get infos on a two week basis now or at least quicker than two months, than he has to have more stuff than we thought, since if that werenīt the case, he wouldīve stretched out the updates even more. -_-

So, BASARA fans, letīs give him a chance. Letīs all stop complaining and wait till all is revealed. (but donīt throw the pitchforks away, we might need them :ph43r: )

i think for a good color scheme for Yamanaka Shikanosuke would be the colors of his clans flag navy blue, and dark red and if you add some silver or white in there he would look awsome well i hope he is in but i would pefer him in a expansion that would be best

This is what I'm starting to think, I'm really not sure about the update pattern, so I'm not going to complain about it untill a month before release, if its still messed by then, Then I'll allow myself a short complaint, but Its still a little early for any judgements.

I think that is the reasonable thing to do as well.

Thanks for the link Koen!

And yeah, now that it looks like we'll have new info in two weeks, I'm starting to become a little more confident. I think it's pretty reasonable that Kobayashi is now starting up a biweekly update pattern. I don't think after months between each of the other updates, he would throw out two of them in two weeks and then go back to super long delays.

And if it really is bi-weekly, that gives us ample time to really get some new characters in the mix. While I'm severly annoyed at NPC new characters (and sadly, I called it a good while back :( ) As long as they give us a good 4-5 brand new characters along with some returning favorites, I'll be more than happy.

Actually I'm expecting a Tri-weekly update patern, for characters at least, which is two-three weeks knocked off the old update pattern, but of course a Bi-weekly update pattern is very appreciated. :DD

I think a Bi-weekly update patternmight be too frequent though, Which is why i say Tri-weekly, It just seems more reasonable to me.

Motochika is referred to as Aniki by his crew/soldiers, and Aniki means "older/big brother" and is a way of referring to your superior in a respectful way most often, if not exclusively, used by street punks, gang members, pirates and the like.

Hmmm...now that I think about it...I often said, that weīll probably see Tadakatsu sacrificing himself somehow...but we never really had a dramatic death in Sengoku BASARA, right?

I mean, afterall, this is a game about war. And thatīs what happens in a war. People die.

The story was written by an anime company. And even if it isnīt the same company, that wrote the Sengoku BASARA anime...we will see some deaths this time, Iīm sure of it.

SB2:H kinda made a first start, with finishing of Nagamasa, while saving Ichiīs life...and thus the story was more dramatic.

I hope they utilize this right, like in the HEROES story.

Also, I hope the branching paths, really add some depth to the story and not just some boring excuse to expand the playtime at the cost of more characters.

The decisions you make should have a real impact on the story. So to say, in one you win over an ally and the other decision would make you lose Tadakatsu. Thatīs what branching story paths should be like.

I learned what Aniki meant from Yakuza, heh heh. I never knew why you guys called him Aniki though.

I think an update every two weeks would be pretty great. I think the best thing we could get realistically is probably, an update every week. We get a "real" update every two weeks, and the others may be returning characters gameplay videos, screenshots, skills or voice work any character. That's what I'm hoping for. I really hope Musashi is in. I know he isn't mandatory, but it would be ten times better if he was in.

DK, love the way you call Mitsunari a "pen pusher" judging by his character model, he's far from it. However, if you look at his SW character model, it's something that ultimately describes him. But with that katana, and Vergil's moves, he is gonna PWN. It's almost confirmed he may go on the DMC train with Yukimura and Masamune with DMC final weapons. That would be cool.

Yukimura gets those scythes, I can't believe I forgot their name! Thats my fav series!

Masamune gets Alastor, which is awesome!

Mitsunari gets Yamato, EPIC!

And then Dante comes in and pwns them, or they could all fight together, haha.
