Even if you sail the seven seas for this game, isn't the Wii harddrive too small to contain a game?

You know what, nevermind. :p
I ain't even trying to get in trouble over something I'm not even going to do.

Can't wait to hear the T.M. Revolution/abingdon boys school theme for this, since Capcom seems to love them some Takanori Nishikawa :)

Wow, I didn´t even think about that

Abingdon boys did fit and were used a lot in the past...I wonder what it´ll sound this time.

Maybe they´ll make a BASARA exclusive Tokugawa Ieyasu praise song, to even more make up for all the Tokugawa hate in the past :shifty:

They should just stick with ABS. They go as well with the series like white on rice, or more over, Crystal King with Hokuto no Ken! XD

Woo! Some good news for me which I genuinely was beginning to doubt would happen, now I can safely rely on being able to import Basara 3, hell yeah!

Now just looking forward to the new characters ( Mitsunari reminds me of Setsuna from Last Blade and the shadowed character looks freaky, in a cool way ), more than 2 skills ( 'bout freaking time ) and Ieyasu's Kenshiro to Hideyoshi's Ken-ou. :P

From a bad-ass Takechiyo to a bad-ass Ieyasu. I'm loving the character evolution, and he looks to be a really great character. Defintely trying him out first as soon as I open my copy. Mitsunari looks pretty awesome gameplay wise, and his backdrop/motives in the story make him all the more interesting too. Really glad Capcom isn't putting him on some pedestal like KOEI does. As for the mystery figure...I kinda think its going to be a Tokugawa character. Maybe Naomasa or one of the other guardians?

At least 3 skills now? Finally! And the new skills look very, very fun. Are those some destructable enviroment elements I see in Ieyasu's magma punch screen?

Graphics are also looking top-notch. Very vibrant, very explosive, very Basara. Words can't express how happy I am that they are making this a multi-port release. Capcom must really have some faith in the series, and I support them all the way.

The ONLY thing that kind of irks me among all these revelations: same character designs for the old characters. Yeah their original designs are already great looking, and what Ben said about making the characters iconic is probably true, but still. Alt costumes in SB2H showed that they could still make the characters look awesome by giving them a new outfit (hell, a lot of thier alts shouldve been the original ones in the first place. Sasuke's alt >>>>> default look. Masamune's and Yukimura's were also extremely cool) Hopefully they still kept them around though, plus added one or two.

Looking forward to the next info batch and site update, especially since we should get some little movies to go along with the characters. Can't wait to see the in-game action now with all of these explosive graphics.

Lastly, anyone else surprised that only 2/3 of the main trio were shown? Figured they would've thrown them all at us, but I guess we still have plenty of more updates down the road he can be in.

I'd like to think that the alts would return, with maybe more. And another cool thing is that, since a lot of the stuff is done in REAL TIME this time around (as opposed to CGs even for cutscenes), it means that all of the cool stuff you could stand to see will be done by the version of the character you prefer! I like that; it's perhaps the one thing I've liked about this generation and its overall less dependence on CGs.

True, but at the same time, part of me believes that, in any case, KG's status of being a part of the main trio is likely going to be rescinded.

After all, if the focus is more so on the newer character (or "relaunched", in Ieyasu's case), while also still having the two original poster boys very much in the mix, then where would that leave KG?

Then again, I'm hoping I'm wrong here, too. Possibly the one thing that raises a bit of a flag is how they're going to try and change up the storytelling. I was really hoping for more of the previous games, but now it's looking more like everything and everyone is going to have a reason to be at Sekigahara. I'll remain optimistic, but that's starting to sound dangerously close to SenMu2's thing.

It seems actually, instead the way KOEI takes, CAPCOM listens to the fans.

I mean look at it. A PS3/Wii release? Tokugawa getting (at last) re-vamped? More into action? Movable lips? More cutscenes? They even started the poll which character we want in SB3?

Those may sound like logic steps to move forward into the next generation, but those are the main complaints right?

When they announced and released BASARA 2 double pack for the Wii a lot started to ask themselves if they are going to do the same with SB3...

And all the other points. I really hope they´ve realized, like in the old days, that not money buys and loves the games, but the fans who support and play it.

@HNB:

Well, I can assure you. As BK said and I explained it:

Everyone will have a story, in a big story.

So it´s like in the movie L.A. Crash or in BlazBlue were you see different characters that do different things and all of them end up triggering events in one big story.

So for example it starts with Nobunaga´s rise and fall, Hideyoshi´s dramatic development into a power-hungry conquerer and ends with the battle that decides it all.

At least that´s what I hope. Cause I like having a big story and playing it from many sides. Even if those aren´t really much related to the main point, like Yoshimoto´s story probably. But it´ll work out nicely since it´s done by an anime company and we know that animes often have dramatic and complex storys in which are many characters inolved and they all play their part to a certain point.

But since this is the great battle that ends it...what´s there for a next BASARA?

Will we then see, the past of characters? Like how Yukimura joined the Takeda and became such a loyal fanboy? How Masamune became the One-eyed Dragon? How Nobunaga became the Demon King?

Even though BASARA 3 isn´t out, it´s worth thinking about what could be after telling the three rulers tales...

To DK: I really hope that, again, you and BK are right on this.

As for stories that can be told? Well, this is BASARA, after all. After we exhaust every bit of history that could be told, time to move on to more fantasy! :XD

In any case, I really do hope that BOTH SB3s have what it takes to push the genre forward in interesting ways.

Just looking at some low quality scans of SB3 gets me more excited than anything I've seen of SenMusou 3 in the last few weeks! :hehe:

That´s because you´re a BASARA fan to begin with ;)

But it´s the same for me. The BARASA 3 PS3/Wii announcement really got me hyped up and after seeing Ieyasu, this really goes into the right direction.

While KOEI tries to walk the old way and down the safe road, CAPCOM goes all out.

I hope it´ll be a success and they´ll be rewarded for their hard work, cause for what it looks now they really deserve it.

I thought the same thing, once history is done, we get even more fantasy! XD

Cosidering DK is almost always right about this game :sly:
So that way sounds great, if everyone contributes to the main story, yet has they're own thing going on, i will be pleased. ^_^
And if the main story is complex like DK said i think this game might be the best BASARA!

And i agree.

Capcom thinks of their loyale fans...

while koei thinks of their Money fountains which they would be so helpless without one on every room. :hehe:

anyway, im desperate to try out Kojuuro's special, were he walks around slowly to charge it... it just looks so cool!

Almost forgot to mention, but Ieyasu will still be voiced by Ookawa Tooru-san. Most likely with a different tone though. (Like NJB said, maybe will be like Roy Mustang)

Missed this the first time around earlier today, but I GOTTA comment on this.

Sure, Ieyasu could work with a Roy Mustang type of voice, but I dunno...part of me would love to see Tooru do a slight reprise of his "Joseph Joestar" from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (CPS3 fighting game).

I mean, imagine if Ieyasu, after a couple of years of hanging with Masamune, picked up at least a few Engrish-y phrases as a result?

Then we'd get him possibly shouting out...

"OH! MY! GOD!!!!" among other things! :hehe: :hehe:

So for example it starts with Nobunaga´s rise and fall, Hideyoshi´s dramatic development into a power-hungry conquerer and ends with the battle that decides it all.

This is what I wish as well, so Nobunaga would still have his own story where he fights Azai, Takeda, Imagawa, Uesugi etc. but then it passes on to Mitsuhide, and then Hideyoshi etc. It would be a first among both SB and SW. And if done right it could be one amazing epic story that comes together through all the characters. But I agree that this leaves Yoshimoto, Zabi and Itsuki etc. in a grey spot.

Also I really hope Capcom goes all out on the battle of Sekigahara... To be honest previous incarnations of it have not lived up to expectations in both SB2 and SW2. This should be the battle that ends all battles: great cutscenes, massive map, lots of generals, pretty much the works. Hopefully they put as many PCs in that stage as possible.

sorry to do this here but....

could you possibly write a post that doesn't talk about how lazy koei is? it just seems tha no matter what the topic is, you always say koei is lazy, its just spam IMO. I mean your post doesn't say anything about BASARA 3 and doesn't generate discussion. :/

@HnB: Engrish Ieyasu would be awesome! but i dont think he would say oh my god..... mmaybey he could just do it once, as a joke or something, to show that he has picked up on some things.

Also, i wonder where Keiji would stand in the battle of Sekigahara? I mean he could be on either side, but personnaly, i see him on the tokugawa myself, much less evil. ;)

Well Masamune looks to be with Ieyasu and Yukimura with Mitsunari, judging from the screens. So it looks like Capcom are going to stick to history, so Keiji on the western army. Anyway I don't think everything is going to be as black and white as: Ieyasu=good, Mitsunari=evil. Despite his appearance I doubt Mitsunari is going to be similar to Nobunaga or Mitsuhide or any other psychopath...

But he is a Toyotomi retainer, so I think we will see the usual traits associated with Hideyoshi and Hanbei in Mitsunari: obsession with strength, ruthlessness in achieving their goals etc.

Ne... Seeing that aside from the first Sengoku Basara game noone of the other have made it to the states (I'mnot even thinking of europe here), how big is the chance that at least Sengoku Basara 3 will make it?

I'd love to import it (once again), but my minimal japanese skills won't be enough to help me ply this game.

Don't underestimate your knowledge. If anything, the only things that'll be missed out on is dialogue/story, which doesn't get in the way of gameplay, and perhaps objectives to get personal items.

Don´t worry about that.

As it has been said, it won´t get in the way in terms of gameplay.

The skills are allways shown in a small window-video, so you will allways know what you´ll select.

The status powering items are allways at the top, so no problem at selecting some itmes that´ll help you.

And after some time, our Translation-Heroes will come and translate mission objectives, items, skills and descritions(thanking them now and will thank them again  ) and then after sometime, there´ll be a story-translation faq and we finally get to know what this game is all about.

Or they release an English version. Allmost no one hoped for a PS3/Wii release, why not hoping for an english release of SB3? Everything´s possible now.

EDIT: Yes, BASARA will be released in 2010. Since the great info-day is TGS September, I guess that´s where they´ll start the site.

At least when the site starts we can start the countdown since all the CACPOM games are being released in the following 6 months of the website announcement. So if it´s September it means October, November, December, Jannuary, February, March.

Which means, the earliest would be Jannuary(still christmas-time/new year, allways a good time to release something) and the latest would be late March.

Wait 'till I buy Famitsu this Saturday (hopefully) :hehe: And then we'll get to see it in all of it's glory.

@DK: Hopefully it's out early 2010, I need some delicious Sengoku hacking and slashing, and seeing that my Wii is not Japanese, SW3 will take some time to come.

Awesome. Glad to see we're finally getting new info on this one.

I seem to be the only one, but I don't care much for Ieyasu's new appearance. It's an improvement, but I dunno, something about his face rubs me wrong.

Mitsunari on the other hand looks utterly awesome. And the new silhouette is interesting to say the least. I lean towards it being Yoshitsugu as well. To me the stance doesn't say "staunch Tokugawa guardian" to me in the slightest. Definitely seems to be a sort of frail character, and Yoshitsugu fits that perfectly if we're showing Sekigahara rivals.

Gonna reserve my judgment on the new skills for now. They look decent from the screens, but you have to remember that they purposely take the coolest instant of the skill, so any one of those could end up being another Death Fang. So yeah, it's always better to go by video than screen shots, so here's hoping we get some character videos soon.

Wow...Mitsunari´s VA did Brandon Heat from GunGrave...that´s pretty awesome.

And also Rob Lucci(which should not only make me happy right, MP :sly: ) from One Piece.

He knows how to speak a suffering man who´s out for revenge and justice. ^_^

I wanted to look, which characters Toru Okawa has allready voiced and damn, there are so many characters he has voiced who would have a fitting voice for the new Ieyasu. Of course they would have to tune it to Ieyasu´s ambitious save everyone personality...

I like Kariya Jin(Bleach, Bount filler arc) the most.
He had a damn cool voice.

But the most surprising thing is he voiced Death Sythe(Maka-chan´s Papa in Soul Eater) I LOVE THAT GUY :XD
