@wodash : Don't worry.I only make more of those boards in other forums[Hongfire to inform the people there,"competing" with datemasamune there. Our speed is truly laughable though compared to this board.]

@HokutonoBen : Whoops.So sorry,didn't recognise you.Hi.

Now for some Basara news...the European customers, myself included, can rejoice as yes-asia ships the PS3 version for 55 euros and the WII version for nearly 10 euros cheaper.Seems a fairly nice price for a preorder.Don't know if they give anything to those who preorder though.

As far as I know, thereīs nothing for those who pre-order the game.

Itīs not like they have a huge marketing campaign were you have Gamestop giving out an exlusive gamestop Bikini costume DLC when you preorder the game or something like that.

Wow, that price sounds...promising...

Itīs like they say:"Hey, japan will buy anything we throw out and has BASARA on it. So letīs charge a full price" (okay Hokuto No Musou, was a BIT more expensive then normal games too *Read BKīs HnM review for further info*) so it seems, since japan is the land of video games, that itīs normal to charge more for video games.

Since FFXIII only cost 59 bucks over here when it came out instead of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 70 bucks.

Though, I meant it, when I said, it sounds promising.

Either itīs so contentless that they feared to charge more for it, once the game reviewing site gets their hands on it and complains that this is a full prized game and youīre better of with DW:SF game OR (and thatīs more likely) itīs really in preperation for the expansion release.

Since japan buys any pricecrap they throw out (seems like a new marketing strategy over there for wanted franchises) they wonīt bother to pay again.

But in america? Meh. Why pay again, probably 30 bucks when you allready threw 70 bucks down the CAPCOM slot? After everyone became a bit more sensible, when it came to expansions/DLC (those who bought the original SFIV kinda felt ripped off and letīs not talk about Activions tries to be funny with map packs)

Since 40 for SB3 + 30 for an expansion = A full prize game.
That way, no one should feel hurt, since the expansion is probably worth the 30 bucks (if they donīt add a Matsunaga Hisahide again  ...it was their decision to add that many NPCs, so I hope everyone is playable this time and not just two skill clone)

So this may be our first hint for an expansion. And that they mightīve allready planned for a NA release of it.

Since I really doubt thereīll be DLC (maybe the extra cotsumes are DLC, like Street Fighter IV)

But if we look at CAPCOM history and recent CAPCOM actions, itīs really more safe to assume itīs a solid piece of disc (and in my eyes, thatīs way better, since I wouldnīt want to buy a japanese PSN money card, just to get that damn DLC)

^Oh,too bad about no preordering gifts.

*Looks at the Bleach Soul Carnival 2 Posters,Blazblue portable gift drama cd and many more free preorder gifts.*Well, those are good too.

Dlc costumes,hmm....nice idea. Two more differnt costumes for each character would be very fun.

Edit : I don't know if it is new or not,but it seems that Dengeki updated with some screenshots of the 2 players co-op.And yes,it seems to have split screen.

Also "Impact" images were found along with the images mentioned above.

Edit 2 : Ignore my edit. The official site has updated it already. That will teach for not visiting the site often.Sorry for that.

Okay, I watched the skills trailer again (gametrailers has it on the site...suddenly they care about SB:SH again :P )

And I counted Mitsunariīs skills: (Iīll give them my own names)

"Cut Leap" (cuts and then sends enemies into the air, for air combos)
"Cut Dash" (Dashes forward and makes one big "roundhouse" cut)
"Cut Sphere" (A dark sphere appears before him that cuts enemies)
"Cut Stab" (stabs enemy to the ground and than merciless slashes him)
"Cut Wave" (sends a big vertical cut wave in front of him)
"Emo Demon" (a dark clound sets around Mitsunariīs face and his eyes start to glow, making him look like a demon)

So thatīs at least 7 skills we know of.
We can assume that everyone has around 7 skills, for those who feared there are only 3-4 skills.

Also Tadakatsu got a major boost:

"Flight mode" (Tadakatsu hovers over his enemies and bombards them)
"Electric Mode" (an electric spark appears on Tadakatsuīs back, harming everyone whose near Tadakatsu)
"Drill Mode" (Tadakatsu rotates his drill at high speed and stabs a few times and sets up an explosion at the end)

Itīs hard to describe it, since his video was a short one, but itīs definietly more fun than just putting up a shield and say, now he has more defense. (as if Tadakatsu needed more defense or attack  )

^Very nice.Seems that Mitsunari has "Vergil" written on his skills.Especiall "Cut Sphere."Now I really hope that he is the one that gets the Yamato. If the trend continues that is.

Also Hondam seems to be getting closer to being Sengoku no Saikyo than the previous games.

40 smackers in the US? Sounds good. If Europe followed suit, it would probably be around €30/35, but I have my doubts. Hell! Even if the European version ends being that price, stores over here will most likely still charge the full €70.
Gotta love livin' in the world capital of "rape the consumer silly". What? Only one person bought it? Charge it three times as much, then it's like three people bought it! PROFIT!

Anyway, $40 sounds like a good deal but on the other hand I can't help but think it just reeks of guilt over releasing what is essentially a half-baked product.
I'm finding the lack of dual-audio even more ridiculous, after some Wii owners in this topic having voiced that the game disc could handle it's inclusion.

And yeah, Mitsunari just needs a dark blue overcoat and slicked-back hair for an alternate costume (not necessarily a Vergil cosplay, rather, something reminescent to it but still carrying a bit of Sengoku Jidai flair).

Or Mitsunari could get a Shinigami Captains robe and a 69 tattoo on his belly just and only to cosplay as Muguruma Kensei from the time he was still a captain.

[Yes,in my eyes they really look like twins...it could be me though...then again some of Capcom's most famous original characters aren't that original,*coughRolentoCoughetc*.]

As for the pricing...here it will depend. Some stores will probably r@p3 us while others will be totally reasonable.Thank god I know them after all these years.

You know, if there's one reason that this game isn't gonna sell well in the US, it's because the people don't know what the hell they're talking about. I just read some Youtube comments, and some people are like "it's just like Dynasty Warriors, the story goes out all the same" Um, WTF? He obviously doen't know what he's talking about, and just made someone not buy the game. Another comment was like "Mitsunari's moves are a rip off from Dante's brother Vergil in Evil MayCry...." Dumbass.....

Anyway, I watched all of the videos over again in HD and got realy mad that there isn't going to be a downloadable demo. It really sucks, it really does......

We could've had all of our playthroughs of the demo, and stated our opinions. We would've known if the graphics and gameplay really are better, and THAT'S EXCATLY WHY KOBA DIDN'T PUT IT OUT ON THE PSN STORE.

Thank God the game has a reasonable price. This may help sales, and since I'm getting both versions, I won't have to spend a CRAPOAd of money. But I will still be spending a lot........

^Yes,the fanbase in the west is limited, but that doesn't mean it will remain limited.

Maybe it's just baseless observation or hope if you prefer, but in the forums I dwell,Sengoku Basara seems to gain fans. When some people who were oblivious to the game saw a trailer on youtube after my suggestion, they were ecstatic.

The fanbase is slowly growing and my hope is that it can grow beyond the point where it is fujoshi driven.

I really don't understand why people are complaining about no demo THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE JAPANESE RELEASE DATE. As we know, the demo is in existence and we have a lot of time to see it show up on the PSN.

For all the horror stories we all keep complaining about, when good news starts sprouting everyone just seems to ignore it. We are hearing about what sounds like an interesting weapon upgrade system, a big expansive story mode with a ton of branching paths, over 35 stages, and a $40 US price. For 40 bucks, 15 characters really is a great amount of content and playtime, even if I really want more PCs revealed.

I mean this game is already a guaranteed US purchase for me, all I have to do is decide whether or not to import.

Yeah, $40 does make the sting of disappointments seem to hurt less, and for 15-19 playable characters, I'm willing to pay that price and to pay for an expansion/DLC later on. So, really, this does change a lot for me. I am so glad I skimmed through the reservation list at work last night- it literally made my night better.

It's a bit annoying to see some people talk about release dates and what-not, this game has no official confirmation yet that it's coming to the EU :/ . It will though, right  ?

IIRC, the first site that showed off the title graphic for SBSH was Capcom's European site. I'd say there's a good chance.

Besides, I thought Europe was more open to these types of hack n' slash games than in North America. On lots of websites with users from here (NA), just saying you don't DESPISE every single game that Koei brings out is cause for concern (and from people that probably haven't played a single one).

Case and point: Destructoid writer Jim Sterling, who is from Britain, gave Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce an 8.5/10, to which 99% of commentors replied that he had lost his sanity, because he ENJOYED a DW game.
...*sigh*

Aaaaaanyway, back on topic.
Is that video thats coming to PSN on Wednesday the same skill video that was put on the site, or is it something brand new?

Thanks for that RTsharpshooter ^_^ . Don't worry about it being off topic, I thought it was very on topic lol. Many people stereotype DW <_< , shame really. In all fairness I'd say SF is the worst think Koei did to the series, now that is going off topic lol  .

It feels good to know the game has a good chance of coming to the EU. As if they'd leave us out ^_^ .

*peers head in*

So, anyone else went out to preoder their copy? GameStop has a tentative release date for October 1, 2010. Probably old news, but I must have missed it with the pages of complaints and negativity (which I regrettable contributed to).

Best thing is? It's only $39.99 USD (for both Wii and PS3)... which has me thinking that they're either A) acknowledging it's not a complete game and don't feel 'right' charging the full asking price, or B) possibility of expansion exist?

Or, it's the first two games+expansion being released in preparation for it, but regardless, that biznatch game is on preorder for me (I am sheep).
i try to avoid preordering games too far ahead of schedule...

if i preorder a game SEVERAL months ahead, i guarantee my gamestop will forget about it and force me to pay again...

i only preorder a game if its within the same month of release...

also, thanks wodash for all that extra information on joke weapons. :)

...wait, musashi's 7 other weapons were jokes? what were they?

How would Gamestop forget about a preorder? If it's anything like the EBGames here then a)it'd be recorded in their system that you put cash on it and b)you'd get a receipt also stating that fact.

EDIT: Oops lol Mibu Kyoshiro already listed them

$40 eh? Wonder what that would be in pounds? The exchange rate is awful at the moment

I know we're expecting Motonari's video and Hojo and Yoshiaki's voices this week (and a day early too), but do you think there's any chance we'll get new characters? The last demo gave away quite a few, so they may as well reveal them..

* Upgradeable weapon types allow players to extend or add special abilities

Also, a little more about the weapon upgrades, seems like you CAN upgrade and add "special abilities" (extra elemental damage? elements triggering more? skill damage up? something like that stuff)

coming from gamespot,i'm afraid they misinterpret the stuff again

in the last SB,we have 8 weapons, usually 6 of them have 3 different "effects",either element enhanced, more comboability,or high crit rate

we also has items that can enhance stats and stuff like "special abilities"

BOTH of them have "levels" that can be "upgraded"

and, they also speak about >weapon types<?another fancy word for the 3 categories that i have mentioned up there

BUT,if you want to take them seriously then what they're talking about is pretty much like a combination of DW6's weapon type system(speed, tech, power) and WO's weapon upgrade system, pretty uninspiring IMO.........

I work at GameStop and I can tell you we don't conveniently 'forget' preorders, nor force customers to pay again. Customers might, but our computers usually remember, so long as you remember which phone number and name you have it under, as well as which store you preordered the game from. Not sure which GameStop you've been to Zero. :uh:

And I actually liked the weapon upgrading system WO had... though, it paved the way for a broken game, but you don't -have- to customize the weapons if you don't want to.

i havent had preorder problems with my gamestop, but the people who work there are a bunch of asses... while i waited for the midnight release of tatsunoko vs capcom, they basically insulted everything i liked... dragonball z, naruto, and several other things...

not to mention, unless i preorder a game and am there to grab it the minute they get it... i dont expect it to be new and untouched anymore...

every gamestop i goto sucks...

i went to one, after calling about a game... they said it was NEW and SEALED... when i got there to get it?

...it was stuffed in the back of a drawer, unprotected, the guy went to get a dirty case off the shelf that everyone and their ancestors have touched, and then he handled the disc wrong, smudging the bottom up...

luckily, i managed to clean it up and it still worked... but i was FORCED to buy it for full new game price... <_<

well, enough gamestop ranting...

so, musashi basically used a bunch of whatever-the-hell he could find as weapons? well, thats a good sign of a great samurai... resourcefulness...

i wonder, were kojiro and musashi in the first SB? i dont think i saw them in "devil kings" but then again, i didnt get far in it, as i said before...

really, i didnt even know who kojiro was until warriors orochi 2 came along... i was a dynasty warriors fan, not much of a samurai fan since i had such a hard time with that series for some reason...

im hoping i've skilled up enough to play this game... otherwise i fear my interest in the sengoku period will fade from my view...

He didn't just use whatever he wanted. He used wooden swords, because, um I don't know. But here's the reason behind his weapons: If he could be that good with wooden weapons (Weapons 1-7), then imagine how great he could be with real katanas? (Weapon 8)
