40 bucks in US means 50 bucks in Canada. I think I'm gonna wait till the end andsee how it goes. Then I will make my decision.

It's not looking that hopeful atm.

About Musashi :

Actually it's a joke about how he defeat Sasaki "Ganryu" Kojiro.During their battle he said he forgot his katana and only brought a wakizashi with him.So apart from being late for the duel,Kojiro had to wait even more for Musashi to craft a sword out of an oar. Also Musashi usually traveled with two pairs of swords : A katana and a wakizashi and a pair of boken[wooden swords]. :ph43r:

The game just pokes fun at it.

But also what you said Basara : he is the greatest swordsman ever,he beats the living daylights out of everyone with joke weapons[Oar sword and boken],just imagine what he could do with a pair of katanas.

It's a bit annoying to see some people talk about release dates and what-not, this game has no official confirmation yet that it's coming to the EU :/ . It will though, right  ?
IIRC, the first site that showed off the title graphic for SBSH was Capcom's European site. I'd say there's a good chance.

Besides, I thought Europe was more open to these types of hack n' slash games than in North America. On lots of websites with users from here (NA), just saying you don't DESPISE every single game that Koei brings out is cause for concern (and from people that probably haven't played a single one).

Case and point: Destructoid writer Jim Sterling, who is from Britain, gave Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce an 8.5/10, to which 99% of commentors replied that he had lost his sanity, because he ENJOYED a DW game.
...*sigh*

Aaaaaanyway, back on topic.
Is that video thats coming to PSN on Wednesday the same skill video that was put on the site, or is it something brand new?
Oh yeah, as a New Yorker, I know that blind hatred well. And that's been my main concern with SB3 coming to the West: could Capcom seperate themselves from the shitstorm that Koei's gotten themselves in. And based on what I'm seeing, it's trying hard, but it can't. It's a combination of hatred and ignorance; hatred towards the Madden-like repetition of DW, and an ignorant refusal to give SB a chance because of it. Another case in point: In one of the Youtube links to the SBSH trailer, several people asked "Why did Capcom buy this from Koei? Waste of money, I tells ya."

^Why is there such hatred towards Koei-Tecmo[mainly Koei] in the US?I know the japanese don't hold especially high in comparisson to other companies, but why this?

Some useless info : I have to say though that in my country the Koei series and the Tecmo series[DOA and NG] are very well received.

@Zero- What you got was a gutted game, because we don't get separate display cases for every game we get so we end up having to make it ourselves. And, that means you got the last copy in the store- if it's a rare game, I'd rather have a gutted copy than no copy at all. But that's just me. If you don't like GameStop, don't shop there. There are several alternatives: Gameware, Play N' Trade, Best Buy, Walmart, all places that have a preorder system. (And trust me, I see you on that GS has some assholes for employees, I unfortunately work with a few.)

And what are the chances of Musashi making this game anyway? I figured he'd have a greater chance than, say, Tsuruhime, considering he did participate in it? Sure, he wasn't FAMOUS then, but still, at least he was somewhere on the battlefield.

Well, this is Sekigahara, so Musashi's chance is not so slim. The thing is, there is a certain man who needs to be added or Musashi will be annoying again.

Well, either "that man" or Yagyu Munenori.

^Or they can make annoying Musashi as an Npc for "that man's" story to prompt him to grow up and become the bad@$$ we all know. And have the new Musashi as a playable.I just hope Namikawa voices him again.

Well even if a character participated in the battle playing a major role, has an interesting backround plus tons of story possibilities and was not only one of Ieyasu´s best friends, but actually his most trusted advisor...KOBA GIVES A RATS HAIRY BUTT about it. Tsuruhime is just to please his little school girl phantasies that strangely a lot of people feel attracted to...*looks at a lot of the most favourite animes/mangas *

There´s still a chance for Todo Takatora...yeah...chance

Let´s wait for this week. I guess that we´ll see something (since we´d have no voice update next week and it seems they finally decided to have a constant update pattern)

So if Zabii turns out playable and new characters are NPCs, I´d say every damn thing is possible (I´ll try out some Spiderman underwear and try to climb a building and see if I can catch a flying one eyed pig if that scenario turns out to be true) if not Musashi´s chances aren´t that high.

Same level as Itsuki/Zabii/Kennyo.

Since we´ve been advised to keep expectations low and expect the worst...the worst is having both NPC Hisahide and Musashi, Todo Takatora or Hideie not in or NPC and a playable roster of 15 characters.

So everything that comes, can only surprise me positive for now.

EDIT:

Okay I realized that sounds like a challenge to them.

I shouldn´t have said I look forward to the new Twisted Metal either. Maybe they won´t announce it or make Sweet Tooth a NPC.

Nothing can surpirse me positive for now. :ph43r:

YOU HEAR ME! NOTHING! TRY TO PROVE ME WRONG! I DARE YOU :meantongue:

On a serious sidenote:

If the update gets pushed forward to wednesday...what happens to the Famitsu for this week? And what happens to the Naruto episode :o

ARe those two even coming out this week? (first cause I want to know if there´s news and second is, cause after the long fillers, they shouldn´t stop the good stuff)

I'm not entirely sure we'll be seeing an update this week. While it's a possibility a new batch will arrive around Wednesday, doesn't a new batch usually surface the week it supposed to go up, e.i. next week? Or has it been the week of the last scheduled update the last two times? I can't really remember. In any case I'd imagine the latest we'll be seeing the next batch is next week. I wonder what's coming our way?

I think that new updates tend to happen when there is nothing dated on the main site. The only time that didn't really work out was when the Maeda's were announced in Famitsu. The problem with that though, was Kobayashi himself said that they weren't supposed to be announced that week and he had no idea they were going to be shown in that issue (I believe they were supposed to be announced along with Kotaro and the other two NPCs)

So I would say don't get your hopes up for new info in Famitsu this week (Is there even a Famitsu this week? Do they skip weeks for holidays?) Most likely we will see the next update in May.

not alot of good game stores around me, even walmart sucks when it comes to games... i remember asking them if they had demon's souls and they never even heard of the game...

well, i think thats enough talk about crappy stores...

i hate koei for canceling warriors orochi z, but really... thats the ONLY thing they did that angered me, i loved every single DW game they made... the SW games were interesting too, but seemed considerably more difficult than DW...

i remember i played an early stage with yukimura... and i actually got lost... i ended up getting killed with guns and cannons...

point is, i like koei's games, even if everyone else considers them rehashed garbage... why fix what isnt broken? their games are awesome...

capcom certainly excelled in making "devil kings" difficult... but the butchery of history kept me from getting hooked...

i did like playing as nobunaga, though... that tattered flowing game was so damn awesome...

the animation i saw... really excited me... cause im used to the stiff models of koei's games, their capes just moved slightly... i admit there wasnt much eye candy in koei's games, but the fun factor was definitely there... least for me.

i think im trying to start my own little discussions, since all im seeing are people complain about prices and going on about the same old "will we we an update this week", etc... i dont really know how to discuss that stuff without repeating whats already been said 1,000 times...

So, we´d have FOUR NPC´s and one playable in ONE update? :OMG:

Maybe someone thought that was a bad idea and leaked the Maedas without Koba knowing it. Seriously...just think about it, getting a 4 NPCs slap, right in the face

It was better the way it turned out, cause so everyone could let his anger out on the Matsu/Toshiie thing and then on the more NPCs stuff.

As Hondam says, he believes/hopes/guesses it´s more than 19 playable characters.

And even if he´s not right, I guess we´ll see more than 4 playables and 1 NPC, leaving the roster at 30. Too many characters would be left out. (all the veterans, Amago/Otomo hints, the guy who destroys Shikoku and Ieyasu´s good reputation)

They should just give us 1-2 characters each week with screenshots, videos, voices, gameplay infos, etc. instead of those "drowning kitties bag" that try to survive a few weeks.

It´s only around 12 weeks. It´s time to start the hype train, not the hype rollercoaster, we puked enough allready in that one, over the last months.

It was sooooo Hondam.

Come'on, the guy is as deep as a douchey frat boy, why not give the roboman some depth by making him start doing things to benefit Ieyasu but not a direct order? It would be interesting, and Ieyasu couldn't get angry at him, he is his best friend.

I think we'll see something May 12-ish. That seems reasonable.

I'm sure Takatora hacked into Hondam and made him crush Shikoku. He has cybernetic tentacles that he uses to manipulate machinery and do many other nasty things. You heard it here first.

Anyway, like the site update, I think also other publications/media (like Famitsu or anime) will just get pushed forward or back one day, so there's nothing to worry about.

In the week between April 29th and May the 6th (I think?), we won't get jack, I'm pretty sure.

Underage school girls? Guys fighting with balls?

All we´re missing are tentacles. That might be a hint...NDY might be right :ph43r:

Just in case, we´ll put a KW copyright on it. Tentacles for BASARA 3.

EDIT:

I can allready see the deep monologue Tadakatsu has, when he explains why he did all those things, especially attack Shikoku:

Tadakatsu:......!

Ieyasu: So it´s true?

Tadakatsu:......!!

Ieyasu: I never thought you´d do something like that. But why?

Tadakatsu:...!

Ieyasu: A Todo Takatora from a parallel universe switched places with this world´s Takatora through a hole in the space-time continuum that was caused by the collision of a black hole and a super nova which were caused by the 3rd great solar system war were the parallel universe Takatora was modified with electrical tentecal arms from a Godryzandrian battle chief ingeneer and thus could hack into your fire wall protection system so that your original system rebooted with a reprogrammed version of your system and thus attacked Shikoku so that Motochika wouldn´t invent his pirate cannon shooter X and thus create the first step for the Planetary Cannon X3000 that would be invented 2000 years later and thus start the 1st great solar system war and further prevent the Godryzandrian battle ships from taking over the plans for it and create the Planetary Cannon X3002 that now threatens to destroy every life in the 3rd great Solar system war? Is that what you told me?

Tadaktsu:.!

Ieyasu: Oh, I got the name wrong, I get it now, it´s Goryzandrian not Godryzandrian.

I think I already posted something along these lines in the Shimazu character thread, but here's my thoughts on making him and Hondam more developed characters.
The only official info is that Shimazu is the 'only one who hurt Hondam' or something along those lines.

Now, what if Hondam was once human? He and Yoshihiro fought, and in the end, Hondam had to be turned into a cyborg/machine in order to keep serving Ieyasu. He wants vengeance for losing his body to Yoshihiro. Shimazu wants to end the feud and test himself, since he's getting older, he wants to end this rivalry before he's too old/Hondam gets too strong.

Also, DK, I love the Hype-Rollercoaster/puke analogy. Freaking perfect.

..something along those lines?

No PSN logo? Uh ohhhhhh...

In other news, I kind of like. Why do I get the feeling that the EU/NA covers are going to suck, though? It's probably because we're getting the game cheaper and they feel that would justify a shitty cover.

Nonetheless, I like it. Pretty much reveals all that needs to be revealed in a game.

That was a great post, DK! Nice follow-up! Those are the kind of posts I want to see from you! Let your talent spout forth, don't let Koba's dirty pranks get to you!

But anyway...I'll try to find some electronics shop around here to see if they have the demo. I'm not sure I'll find one today, but is there anything you'd like me to confirm/check? Keep in mind that it's the same demo as the Jump Festa one.

@NDY : Really? You'll do?We love you NDY.Even if it is the same demo,a more accurate description of it and tiny details that we weren't able to see in the rush back in Ju,p festa would be good...also a a full stage is pretty much, what we all expect.

It's Golden week next week,right?From the 29th?

@Wu Tugu : Maybe they wish to "test drive" some characters before the Heroes expansion.[Think positively...oh darn.I'll be putside.]

Edit : Also, wodash's very correct post in the next page.
