I like that it will be more historical. ^_^ And I think now, Nene deff has a good shot of being a playable character in SB3!
...Nene's not likely because....well...she's dead.

Unless they pull a huge retcon out of their ass, a character who was never seen (and barely heard), should remain dead. Shouldn't stop Hideyoshi from having another woman (if the storyline flows that way).

After that we could see Fuuma Kotaro taking on another road: The road of revenge. Maybe he finally has realized some sense of loyalty, he´s out for Hideyoshi´s head since he was the one who besieged Odawara and brought the end.

Of all the things that could feasibly happen for a storyline focusing on him, THIS is probably what I think is least likely.

BASARA Fuuma's just a merc; little more, little less. The only thing that keeps him loyal to any one is the flow of cash and the contract that binds him to his customer. So, Hojo dying would likely leave him nonplussed (except for the sake of his source of income drying up with the old geezer).

So, with that in mind, I could only see two real end results for Fuuma: either he gets hired by some one else (Hisahide, etc.) for various storylines, or he may just do more to follow the route his historical counterpart and his descendants may have chosen - go back to becoming a nomad/drifter, or a thief.

Either of which are valid, in my eyes, especially considering different storylines may yield different outcomes for him. You may be able to get a better ending for him and his clan than what happened historically, where the Fuuma became a bunch of raiders who attacked Tokugawa installations, only to be caught and executed by 1603... :/

Well, then that´s what´s going to happen with Fuuma´s story.

What we don´t expect, BASARA makes it happen :XD

Just kidding. It was just and idea.

But it could be some character development for him. I mean he´s cool now, not talking, not being bound to someone.

BUT, I have a good explanation for him going still after Hideyoshi, that would please you HNB:

Money. Maybe Ujimasa paid him for killing Hideyoshi, but wasn´t able to do so since the castle was besieged by him, causing the fall of the Hojo. Since Kotaro never failed on a mission and he was allready paid, he still goes after Hideyoshi to fullfill his contract and that´s why he "teams up" with Hanzo. But then there could be a cutscene, were you aren´t so sure anymore if he did it only for the money or if there were some kind of revenge for his former contractor Ujimasa(we don´t know how long Ujimasa has allready paid him. He´s pretty damn old, maybe Kotaro allready followed him since he was a young unknown assassain)

Does it now sound possible :sly:

...I don´t know why I try to defend Fuuma´s story, with the possibility in mind and the might not even have one.
Maybe it´s the fact that I would like to see a Hanzo/Kotaro team up. :P

As for the Nene thing...yeah she´s pretty much dead. Instead they should focus on characters we really need. Maybe she´ll be added in the next BASARA fantasy "what happened before Sengoku BASARA" game. Then they could really add her and some other characters, that were before Nobunaga´s Demon King time.

Yea, I know he killed her :( But sense there going to make the stories more accurate maybe she could be in it.

If not, its still a good series. ^_^

That "sticking to history" thing...it's something Kobayashi said. It's not like I'm speculating or anything...

But since it would be real BS to cut chars, I guess they will add storylines that lead to Sekigahara for those who didn't partecipate in it. A bit like what DK proposed before...well, I hope.

In the end, if they cut all chars with no direct ties to Seki...we'd get a 10 characters roster, or something....definitely not good.

I hope there's more to Kobayashi's statement...

well, the reason of sekigahara war was which one of mitsunari or ieyasu gets to control the land, that would be pretty pointless if the BIG guns like DK and raoh is still around kicking butt....especially after capcom said the story would be pretty much interwined for each characters

UNLESS,they make it to 2 massive chapters/arc like dissidia does, this way the "old era" characters can coexist with most of the characters from the beginning to the end chapter1 of the story and conclude theirs non cannonically in the end of it(like nobunaga starting in okehazama and then surviving honnoji, period.)

while the "pre seki era" characters(masamune, yukimura, etc) will start around the middle/end of chapter 1 and end their stories in the sekigahara arc in chapter2(also non canonically, since yukimura died not in sekigahara)

Although I was sad to see that SW3 will be wii exclusive, I'm more than glad that SB3 will be for the PS3 also.
Nice character designs so far! I hope we'll see more soon.

Well, if nothing else, they did promise us an "unprecedented amount of Generals to play as".

Can't really have that now, if they're going to even THINK about cutting characters, now can they? :hehe:

:OMG: First high def look at Ieyasu and Mitsunari=awesome!! Mitsunari's face looks so evil in those pics, maybe I was wrong, maybe he really is an evil SoB. And Ieyasu is actually wearing a hoodie! that's so SB. The graphics looks great, the colours are so rich, much better than SW3 IMO.

On an unrelated note, the mystery character, maybe its not Otani but Naoe Kanetsugu? His helmet certainly looks distinctive and I could picture his crest on the front of it.

I CAN'T READ IT!!! :OMG: :XD

Actually, all I really needed to see was the character sections. Cool stuff. Mitsunari looks totally awesome, and of course, Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura are still there. The music is pretty epic on that site, too. Can't wait to see more character reveals. If this turns out well, I'll definitely be importing it. 2010 is still a good wait, but man, it's already looking like a great year.

I love those graphics. LOVE them. The first two games looked great, but the PS2 has a way of washing visuals out a bit, but here the colors looks so vibrant. And the textures on the costumes look great! :)

Haha I want to play this now!

Just as expected, they are going to add the contents at their usual pace.
Ieyasu's voice: 27 August
Mitsunari's voice: 3 September
Masamune's voice: 10 September
Yukimura's voice: 17 September
At this rate it's going to be true that the next info batch will be up around TGS.
Anyway, I wonder if they're going to put up a playable demo there.

But for now, there's an interesting thing to check in the screenshots menu.
It seems to be confirmed now that mouths will finally move at in-game cutscenes. But this time it's not about that. At the 7th picture where Mitsunari is (`皿´)ing, you can see a banner on the right. And it holds the crest of a crow... the Saika crest.
Saika Magoichi appearance hint!?!? :ph43r:

First off, nice BGM playing  The screens look amazing. Even if it's HDer, still seems very Basara like. The character models looks good.

Guess we'll definitely see an update next week.

If my eyes aren't deceiving me, then I'm kinda dissapointed with Ieyasu since it looks like now he's using his fists which I'm too use as being Hideyoshi's territory. There had better be some good deviations to keep him from being too much like Hideyoshi.

ahh tomokazu seki......after voicing amazon in the recent daishocker movie and now he's in SB,weird choice of character to play though, since mitsunari isnt quite the hotblooded type and i liked his domon performance the most.......(i know he had tons of various roles but still......),let's just see how he fares against the other SB "veteran" VA's......

as for the saika banner, that would mean hongganji still have a chance to still be in an actually have some important plot?and for the love of god don't make magoichi a creepy floating guy......

Yosh!The Saika :shifty:
This gives Kennyo a good chance to return and lets face it,if Kennyo's returning most of the cast are :sly:

The BGM is freaking epic aswell,it's got a 'Pumped-up for a fight' vibe.Great stuff Capcom.
Also,I love seeing the characters in Hi-def.Ieyasu with his hood up looked awesome, not to mention the detail in Yukimura's jacket

God,I can't wait until the TGS.

If even Saika Magoichi is added, then damn, they can add Mogami Yoshiaki and Saitou Toshimitsu too.

But it´s not I that wouldn´t be happy if he´s added. :sly:

But you all forget something to mention:

This game is now getting epic. They realized what BASARA can do. And now look at the quality of the pics, the great music...this will be the BASARA we waited for.

For me, BASARA has allready won the so called war. Cause I just like that track :XD

And for the slow updating, I was expecting something like that.
But we´ll get some infos out of the next Famitsu or some other magazines and then the TGS allready starts.

And I really, really want to hear Mitsunari´s and Ieyasu´s voice. And I want to know if Yukimura sound different too.

Damn that´s awesome.

EDIT:

And the flags on the side for the characters, you can watch the first three skills of Ieyasu and Mitsunari with some description.

Does it say what it does? So I guess the third flag will be the BASARA attack video like last time.

P.S.: Happy strike is over. I can´t be mad at a CAPCOMPANY that gives me hooded boxing Ieyasu. I don´t know why but I love it. He kinda reminds me of Jin Kazama´s outfit in Tekken 5.(I hope they add a costume were you can have the hood on all the time :ph43r: )

The Saika banner was a great find!! This surely gives us hope...not to mention that in one of Ieyasu's screenshots (his third skill's, where he punches the ground) you can see a Takeda banner...now I don't think Yukimura would still use it, right?

Cross fingers with me, people....

Yeah, I agree with everyone here on the music. Though that's pretty much standard BASARA fare...

And yeah, nice find on the Saika and Takeda banners. I'd say the Saika one was pretty definitive if it wasn't in a cutscene. In a way I'd like to see what they'd do with Magoichi, but at the same time I'm not really sure I want him in =/ I mostly just wish they'd the guys from that BASARA3 poll from a while back. Most of those characters would be epic.

EPIIIIC!!! the music, the characters, the HOODED Ieyasu, i think that made my day (even though its a bit early :XD ) the badass Mitsunari. I can see Magoichi being in, but i cant picture what he would look like when hes BASARA'd...

Oh yeah, I forgot something.

Today I read Famitsu before work, and there's something I couldn't read in the scans:

It seems like every character's uniqueness will be highlighted this time.

Ieyasu can charge strength in his fists, Mitsunari has his speed, Masamune the 6 swords and Yukimura can attack with great energy (don't know what they mean...)

Kobayashi said they have lots of demo videos ready though...let's hope they show us something then...

Well Hideyoshi is like the Hulk, he just pounds his opponents into submission, he also uses a bit of grappling. But from the screens I think Ieyasu will be more like a boxer or a techinical fighter, looking at his skills his punches look very "clean", probably less power and more speed. And the hoodie further gives him a boxer image! :D
