The only place a petition works is in Family Guy. But, I'll sign it anyways. Not that it'll make a difference if I'm getting the game or not, really.

Kurokan is on the east side historically (although only for convenience, as he was planning to get rid of Ieyasu, as we know), but Koba put him in the west side, "because he originally supported the Toyotomi". Well, he's planning to grab the reins himself, and that's something he shares with his historical counterpart.

This is Koba magic. That man changes history with a flick of his wrist, a snap of his fingers, a wobble of his gut!

You know, I registered on C-U.com and everything, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to upvote your suggestion.

EDIT: No wait, I see it now. Logging in on the main site doesn't count as logging in for the ideas site? That's a little nutty.

Uhm...NDY...our BK allready told us the news.

There will be no Famitsu this week since they taking a break.

So...yeah...either we ultra-extremely lucky and get some surprise update on the site or....they just pull out the "Golden Week Ticket" and just do nothing at all.

So I wouldnīt really count with something this seeing as so many people are in holidays and thus the interest to advertize a game at this point, is a bit low.

Letīs hope for the best though...like the last half year...

Bah.
Indeed. But before that though, there's the site update this Thursday. The might leave it blank, but Golden Week ends on Wednesday so we might see something. Or they can just put the opening on the site so they at least have something as an update.

To be honest, I think it may be quite late in the localization process for them to stick in dual audio.

Then again, Lair had free DLC that replaced the (terrible) sixaxis control with the analog sticks, so I guess it isn't too far fetched.
Hell, if SBSH sells moderately well, maybe they'll add it in later!

*I guess I have to register on CU before I can vote, right?

@ DK

It also said "Autumn" in the trailer for Samurai Heroes at Captivate a few weeks ago. I'm thinking September/October is most likely.
You know, unless they think the North American (& European) market will be willing to get this over CoD: Black Ops
Would remind me of where the last 2 major Cabela hunting titles released on the same day as Halo 2...and again with Halo 3...

Capcom should at least TRY to advertise this. I don't even ever see Capcom ads on TV unless they're for HUGE releases (RE4, RE5, SF4).

Edit: Just wondering, has anyone visited the SBSH official site?

http://samuraiheroes.com/uk/home/

FYI, the overview does mention "Featuring more than 15 unique playable samurai warrior characters each with their own unique battle styles"

Not that anyone has been too worried about that as of late, but that was still nicely reassuring.

Of course it goes over 15 characters, if you add the NPC's onto them  . Sorry, couldn't resist.

More than 15, eh?

Seeing as there is space for 16 gameplay videos on the SB3 site, it opens hope for 16 characters.

Now thatīs awesome...donīt forget to add in the NPCs...

Hmmm...unique playable characters...that reminds me...

East playables:
Ieyasu
Tadakatsu
Masamune
Magoichi
Tsuruhime
Kotaro

West playables:
Mitsunari
Yoshitsugu
Yukimura
Motochika
Motonari
Kanbei
Yoshihiro

Now who is jealous that Tsuruhime is on the east side as a playable character?

I know itīs just a "small competition game"...but why do I feel Iīm on the losing side here, looking at the playables list?

Shinkanosuke, Takatora, HELP US!

Oh...by the way...on which side would Sorin be?
(reads his epic son of epic failure sided with Mitsunari)

Meh, he fights alongside Zabii...donīt get your hope up Westies... :meantongue:

I always hate that "more than X" because it usually ends up only being X+1...

but I believe this says more than 15 simply because only 15 are unveiled so far.

I'm still holding out for 4 more PCs

..When did the English site get released.

They need to do more with localization.

I don't even need to say anything, you've all beat me to it. As awesome as this game can be (or is) if it's not advertised at all, it's not going to do well.

cool i didnt know they already made the SBSH site yet im soo eager to see the new characters in SBSH and how there voices will be

and i agree with robotzombie when games say with over or more than *yada yada yaa* characters it usually only gives one or two more characters then the number it says but im hoping for atleast 20

and im gonna go with the east side :meantongue:

Same. It's one of the big reasons Devil Kings didn't sell well. Though I am kinda glad it didn't (Even though BK would disagree) because if it did, they'd continue with the Devil Kings series and we would have never gotten "Sengoku BASARA". I'm hoping they will advertise this as it'll end up like Devil Kings if they don't.

Because We(st) are just that awesome! :P

Now in all seriousness, I am hoping the East gets some good characters, namely Todo and Kato.

Anyway, thanks DK and RTsharpshooter for the heads-up on the European sites.
As many have said, the Basara team needs to step up on the marketing division. So far the only attention the game got was hardly positive.
I wouldn't immediately blame Capcom on this. I imagine it's whoever's in charge of the project who needs to ask the bigwigs, because the later "keep the cookie jar on the top shelves" (aka, the almighty yen).
That said, and I honestly don't want to pin the blame on Koba since I assume there are people in charge of publicity and keeping tabs on the public's reaction, but as director, it is his job to make sure everyone else is doing theirs.

So far, I'm thinking the game won't do well.
The Capcom brand alone isn't enough to make the game sell.
Simply showcasing 4 guys in the hammiest bromancing ever isn't helping either.
If they really want the title to succeed overseas, they need to understand the kind of publicity that "clicks" with mainstream Western audiences. A "if" because there's also the possibility Capcom, as a company, is indifferent to it. I mean, they already have RE5GE, SSFIV rollin' while DR2, LP2 and MvC3 are potential commercial hits, so they can afford having a black sheep.
Personally, I would obviously prefer the game to succeed overseas and open up possibilities for sequels and expansions including all the things we wanted this game to have in terms of options (not giving the lack of dual-audio a break, sorry...) but as we all know, this won't dictate the future of the series, rather the Japanese version since it's there the series makes heaps of cash, even if just on merchandise, which as we are seeing, is being catered with the events, anime, figures, manga and whatnot.

Strategy to get BASARA to WIN!
Donīt worry, Iīm not in the mood for a rant. Even though I could write one in 5 minutes, Iīm just going to show, how well CAPCOMīs advertizing is doing now:
Spoiler: click to toggle

So actually there is hope for it to succeed. We just have to hope for nice ratings from the game sites, some well placed advertisements, a lot of attention through events like E3, get out a demo so people can test play for themselves and allways mention the graphical capabilities of the Wii version, the online functions of the PS3 version and most important of all the 39.99 price tag.

If they have that in mind they might sell a respectable amount of copies.

And then a $39.99 expansion :) !!! Wonderful!!!
Anyways, I do hope this gets a decent amount of showtime at E3, because I want this so bad, the Dante and Nero VA's alone are just enough to make me buy the game
