Well, maybe they could give him gloves for his weapon upgrades. The joke weapon could be an actual boxing glove, while for the ultimate weapon maybe it could be either Beowulf or Gilgamesh from DMC. :ph43r:

Beowulf would be awesome :o

Gilgamesh is the one from DMC4? Itīs a weapon for arms and feet and itīs red...would be cool if Hideyoshi getīs Gilgamesh...

Beowulf equipped Ieyasu against Gilgamesh equipped Hideyoshi.
One great CAPCOM BASARA DMC Showdown :P

Still, Earth for Ieyasu would be nice, it would mean rock solid heavy blows ^_^ (though he uses this bright yellow light often, so I guess heīll be hikari/light)

If you have a Mac, you press like.. shift + 3 + either apple or control, I forget which one. Then again do the image program thing I described above.
Better still, there's a key combination on OSX that allows you to screenshot directly to a file so no image editing program is required :sly:

Good to hear that Tsuchibayashi will be doing the art again. I look forward to seeing some scans when the artbook comes out.

And regarding Ieyasu's weapon... well, since the site says he doesn't have a weapon, what if we took that literally? As in you can't buy weapons for him or unlock a final weapon or any of that? Probably not too likely, but still something to think about.

Yeah, as they said weapon: none...I think it'd be weird if they gave him one, wouldn't it?

Not to mention that'd destroy the whole "he threw away his weapon to feel personally the pain of fighting" theme...

Well, Hideyoshi's weapon is also mentioned as none back then in SB2 since he's only using fists, but they give him gauntlets as weapon upgrades.

Look very closely on his fingers, you can clearly see something that looks like brass knuckles... maybe that will be his weapon upgrade??

thanks for all the pics guys :D

Ieyasu's weapon will probly be just his armgaugs or something like that.

Ieyasu equipped with Beowulf would be epic!

and it looks likt Mitsunari uses a kinda Iaijutsu style for his fighting, he will probly be somewhat similar to kenshin.

Ah, on the pis we can allready see, heīs a mix of Kenshin and Hanbei.

I really hope he has his own style though...and not just some quick Kenshin slashes and Habeiīs purple strikes, short pause, then follows damage attacks.

Where are the vids... <_<

Damn I knew it, when the first news arrive, I canīt wait to get my hands on the game...now 2010 seems even further away... -_-

You know Ieyasu, wasn't there a Basara anime in Japan, wouldn't Ieyasu changing his entire image be contradicting the anime  ?

Well, even if he didn't grow up... who cares? The anime doesn't take priority over the game series, so I don't really think it's a big deal personally.

Ieyasu equipped with Ifrit would be epic!

Fix'd, for at least my personal preference. Especially if Ieyasu some how turns into a Fire-type, now. :XD

True, but again, the anime series has to be as much of a "salesman" for the games as much as any thing else that Capcom could do to help advertise for the series.

So, it would be a HUGE opportunity wasted, if Season 2 basically didn't do much to be a "SB2+SB3" mish-mash of some sort. In other words, I'm expecting to at LEAST see Mitsunari palling around with Hanbei and Hideyoshi. "Grow'd-up!" Ieyasu being a part of the mix should be expected too, even if it would just have to be a thing of...

Ieyasu: *gazelle punches some random fool in the gut* SURPRISE, BITCHES!!!!

Masamune and Yukimura:  Ieyasu! We thought you were dead!!!

Ieyasu: Yeah, well, I got better! ^___^ *then goes off to bestow more ownage as he unleashes his BASARA*

It's interesting how Ieyasu's personal "AWESOME" factor has multiplied, simply because he doesn't have that spear any more. All that dramatic "fist clenching" he does in his SB1/SB2 intros just proves what he was supposed to be doing in the first place! :hehe:

Good stuff, thanks for sharing!

...Course now, as I look at these pics...I begin to wonder. Is it possibly a thing that, like people are proposing over at NeoGAF, as well as myself, that the Wii version is the "lead" SKU for this project, and the PS3 version is merely the game in a higher resolution (a la Tekken 5:DR on the PS3 from its PS2 original)?

I mean, stuff looks very good, don't get me wrong. But the character models and textures definitely do not look like something that the PS3 could be pushing out, at its best.

So much doesn't really matter, but it would definitely make sense, if Capcom didn't want to make two vastly different versions of the game, for two different consoles with different capabilities between them.

At best, it does more to insure that the Wii version won't be some "gimped" version of the game, like people fear, but I could see some people being disappointed that this doesn't push the PS3 hardware too...

Oh well, at least I know, theyīll make the PS3 version "a bit better" and if ítīs kept low to keep the Wii version good, I hope they have at least a slowdown free PS3 BASARA 3 for me.

And I have to say the graphics are quite nice.

The textures look on some parts stil a bit rough but if itīs really only 60% done, that does mean they still have to do some fine tuning.

Now that I mention it. 60% :o

Allmost 2 and a half year and still only 60% finished?

It seems they really added a lot of stuff, it seems the planning and designing of all the new characters, storys, other ideas and maybe even modes, took them a lot of time, since they still have to programm it.

Or they are lying to us :P

Anyway, go CAPCOM, give us lots of BASARA ;)

The whole "60%" thing probably just means more along the lines of where the game is in development and production process, rather than the "amount of content left to add".

So, for example, the fact that the game is better than "half-way there", probably means they likely are focused more on fine tuning and error testing, then adding in all the "final touches" like the storyboards and what have you.

In short, things are probably right on schedule, thus far.

Yeah, I thought the same when I looked at those, but I don't mind. It works for this game, as it gives it a 3D anime look. Also, there are great textures on some of the clothes, and in the characters' hair, so that more than makes up for it, in my view.

Thatīs a given.

They wouldnīt officialy announce and advertise a game if itīs production process is only at 60%...that would be a bit over half-finished.(it would be a quick cash production, ahem, DW6)

But I thought when theyīd start the website, the game would be finished allready, but the fact that they are still fine tuning it and itīs still "only" 60% finished in that process, leads me to the thinking I posted before.

They really thought more about it, instead of just making it.
That was important. Since a man who just puts one leg before the other and never thinks about the way he goes, will someday lose himself, because of his own blindness.

Again, Megman had that fate. They just thought of making more money and bring out Megaman games as soon as possible, instead of thinking about the way they are going with this.

Itīs weird that Iīm happy that the game isnīt even finished yet...but it shows, that they want to make everything perfect, till the last second.

Again, my thing is that I don't think it looks bad, quite the contrary, in fact. It's just more along the notion of "it is what it is."

If nothing else, it definitely does keep costs down, while doing exactly what BK and DK proposed in the first place: "reach the largest possible audience across the PS3 and Wii together", and furthermore, everybody gets to play basically the same thing. So no worries about a "vastly inferior version", or whatever. Both hardcore and fangirl alike should be pleased with this overall arrangement.

I suppose the interesting thing now though, is when it comes time for the (inevitable) expansions.

Will both versions of the update come on disc, or will it be a thing that you have to buy a disc for the Wii version, but could just download the content over PSN for the PS3 version, which will then be just something to occupy your HDD? Or might the expansion be so large and "content-rich", that the only means to get it done IS through publishing it on disc?

It'll be interesting to see what Capcom opts to do this time around. Again, they stand to be the one that does a lot to push this genre forward, both with the game itself, as well as how maybe expansions should be made and marketed.

I like the new Ieyasu. He's usually potrayed as a middle aged man with a calm and wise personality. Nice to see that Capcom has taken a different route with him. I don't mind Mitsunari either. His helmet looks a little strange but I like the purple colour his costume has.

I'm not really surprised that Mitsunari is potrayed as a dark and power hungry character while Ieyasu is the new hero of the land. I thought Onimusha: DoD featured a similiar situation. Mitsunari was the true main villain (manipulated Hideyoshi, gave his own body to a Genma) and even though Ieyasu is not present in the game, all playable characters (well, I suppose Roberto is an exception) are somehow related to Tokugawa clan.

Well, he does have that monstrously sharp bang of hair. It's so sharp that it'd still stab you even if you're not touching the edge. I'm so illogical.
