LOL I love Andreas-andi XD I haven't laughed so hard all day. Anyway, the chances of us getting scans today are low. Ouellis already said it, but I'll say it again, we've never gotten scans when the character section had an update coming out, they are only released when that section has been fully updated. So next week seems like the best bet. |

Nobody cares. Its still OLD news. Try reading the rest of the topic. Be up to date. If say NBC news just now reported on the Arizona anti-Mexican law, they would be justly ridiculed. If BBc news reported on Gordin Brown's resignment 2 months from now they'd be mocked. It may be new to them, but to the rest of the world (on in this case the section of the forum) its already been covered.

Well for one, it's kind of annoying to be scrolling through the forum only to see a giant "BRAND NEW LATE BREAKING NEWS NEVER BEFORE SEEN!" and finding out its scans from a week ago that we've all spoken about ad nauseum. And considering you are on an english speaking site, speaking english yourself, where all of the scans have been translated by kind folks here and again, the information has been discussed for a week already, we don't need a giant production just because we've gotten the same scans again in another different language that isn't the main one spoken on this site. It should be no issue that english isn't the main language for many of the folks here, or that people should post scans in different languages, there's just no need for it to be obnoxiously promoted as brand new information hot off the presses. Imagine if someone did that for every language someone here can speak, it would be pretty ridiculous. |

Looks like no new info this week. But eh, hopefully they go on a like an info splurge soon and give us something new every week, if only to make up for the months of giving us nothing. That and to get the ball rolling as the game near closer and closer. Aznwarria- Please do not double post anymore. First, while I appreciate the scan, the Chinese language Famitsu is always one week behind from the original Japanese language version. Anyway, it's just as some of you guys predicted. No new info on this week's Gomitsu. Expect this week's site update to feature the unfeatured UNPCs yet. heck year more time to play mh3 xd |

You might have just hit the nail on the headThats probably where the franchise is going to end up at least this way Koba will be free from restriction of who people expect to see in the up coming titles he would have complete freedom to do as he wishes. (just imagine Koba complete freedom lol) but whatever the future of this franchise is I really hope its a good one however theres nothing stopping him from abandoning everything and starting from somewhere completely new like the heian period for example come to think of it that would be kinda cool

Let's bring a little logic here, kay? BlackKite was nice enough to tell us that the Chinese/Taiwan translation comes out a week after the Japanese one. The Japanese one was posted when it came out several pages ago, and we've been talking about that one ever since. If you're not reading the topic to catch up on info, then start doing so. If you are, then use a little common sense and don't make a big production out of old news. And BTW, this may sound cruel, and I apologize if I do, but don't give me this "I'm German I don't speak English well" BS. You clearly know enough to understand us, let alone post here. And Google Translator ain't THAT good, so don't give me that excuse either. Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine. |

You may be on to something there. Though I hope they wouldn't simply swap Nobunaga for Taira Kiyomori and have Yoshitsune and Benkei becoming the new Masa/Yuki you all know its plausible...I also like the idea that [someone] posted about maybe stretching the Basara timeline across the Tokugawa Bakufu and the Meiji Revolution. I'd love to see what Tsuchibayashi can do with the Shinsengumi, or go full out Rurouni Kenshin and give us Kawakami Gensai Of course, the Kenshin we have NOW fits the most likely interperatation of Gensai already The only issue that would likely arise is that: a) These people would be massively spread apart by history. Like, beyond the 50 or so year difference in actual age that some characters in Basara have to their real life counterparts. I'm looking at you Okra and Crane-Girlie. b) Drawing from the Heian period (Minamoto-Taira War) and the Meiji Revolution, I don't think there's really as big a variety of people on MANY opposing sides as the Sengoku period, though thats a tough one to beat in numbers. Having so many people on different sides really lets the characters be diversified, but what characters in previous games that were on the same army were different in appearance already, so having vastly different designs while only having 2 armies might make it harder, at least at first, to know who is in which. Unless Tsuchibayashi has them all fit a uniform design and diversify afterwards, such as the Shinigami and Arrancar in Bleach. Then, what happens if instead of being in a separate timeline, they crossover into the Sengoku? We would either have these people randomly thrown in, ala WO, or the entire game focuses solely on these factions and the multi-sided conflicts we've come to know disappear. Thats not to say that Capcom couldn't find a way to make this work, mind you, and by all means, I'd LOVE to see them try something completely out of the blue. I'd think, as most people have said, a prequel story is the safest route to go. Heck, going way back we can have a story for Motonari that makes sense, a fitting placement for Hisahide to kick off the civil war, and the origins of all the other characters. Hm...maybe this should have gone in the SB4 thread...

well if only (I can not speak english well) changed into (I can not discern the current status of the board) than every info he gives will be more acceptable....... especially because the dude never really participate in anything in general besides his infamous "new infos" posts,he never got rants about OR said that he likes mago's man face, nor does he cared for whether itsuki is going to be in or not, etc. but i guess that's because (I can not speak english well), which translates to (low self esteem) perhaps? on a different point of view, andreas is just like the ones that keeps asking "how many characters, who got cut,is this game going to come to the US?" and never seem to care looking at the front page for the general infos but in reverse, the annoying effect is about the same though... alas, there's no NEW INFO for SB,so i guess i'll go hibernate some more until the next post oh and (I can not speak english well),so i hope you guys don't mind if there's any typos in there. peace out

Only new things in the Sky Lounge are the Monster Hunter costume for Lost Planet 2, and some new female costume pack for SSF4, and I think both are also in the regular store (at least the NA store). There's always next week. 'Til then, the voices for Haruhisa and Yoritsuna (and MUTEKI), plus the mystery video will have to tide us all over. That was a kick in the pants, booting up home and seeing a bulletin pop up with "capcom" nudged in at the top message, but the new stuff is for games I don't have I guess I'm also on edge because my Basara One-Coin figures are supposed to come in the mail soon...at those shipping costs, I should've sprang for FedEx... |

So anyone have predictions of what the video is gonna be about? i think it might have something to do with showing the 100 bodyguards, showing off the 6 UNPCS. Maybe, but i doubt it. they need to feature more of the NPCS as well...like the new Mogami, Otomo, Tachibana, etc. |

Probably Opening 2 or some new CG scenes, like an intro or something. SB4 talk- People complained immensely about them leaving out 5 characters in this game and now some of you want another time-specific game? I just don't get it... And there's no way they'd change from the Sengoku era, y'know considering that the series is called Sengoku BASARA. But regardless, the best option would just be the biggest game in the series covering early stages of the period and going all the way to the last Osaka siege. Would be great if they moved it along a timeline that smoothly transitioned from one stage to the next, with characters coming and going and eventually dieng the farther on you go. |

@ Hondam That is the most plausible way to go about another new game, but it also seems, to me at least, like that would be the end point for the franchise; as in, where do you go after you've covered everything? The obvious advantage with the Sengoku period has so many big names and sources and stories to draw upon, let alone the many opposing sides in the conflicts that we wouldn't see in other points in Japanese history, so as interesting as the other options may be, Capcom doesn't really have much reason to venture out of the 1500's - 1600's. I do think it'd be best to wait for SB3 before we wrack our brains with what will come in the future. Please ignore my earliar giant post lol On the subject of the new video, I'm gonna put my guess in that its Ieyasu's opening cutscene. Either that or a new story trailer using the CG cutscenes. That's easy! In BASARA's case especially, the answer is "Do your own thing, and the fans eat it up nonetheless!". ![]() But seriously, though! BASARA has proven that it can work just fine doing as such; various game scenarios, as well as the various iterations represented through the anime, manga and radio dramas, have all done things that were NOT historically accurate in the least. And did anybody care? Hell, no, cuz it was just awesome to see your favorite characters do bad-ass things. Fangirls delight in seeing MasaYuki being able to slay Nobunaga and Hideyoshi, fanboys love to see Nagamasa, Matsu, Kojuuro, Oichi and Kotaro do their thing and so forth and so on. So, honestly, with that much already being a part of the BASARA series as it is, I don't think it would be too appalling if BASARA eventually even loosely based on history as it is. Besides, if there's one thing I've distinctly come to hate with SB3's direction, and has not been really assuaged in these last few months, it's definitely this whole thing relating to "Why so serious?!". What did a lot to attract me to this series in the first place was the nonsensical, yet awesome shenanigans that could ensue from Capcom's take on a Wuxia-style action drama. With SB3, it just doesn't feel the same. Beyond the likes of Muteki, a lot of the bizarre, self-aware humor that used to be a part of the mix is gone. Now it's just done a lot to become "Sengoku May Cry", where it's doing a lot more to take itself too seriously (which, certainly evident by Koba's own DMC4, is definitely an example of "you're doing it wrong"). So, to me? The sooner Koba and his crew get past this "storytelling phase" and get back to some thing closer to the BASARA-style storytelling we like, the better. |

Isn't it sad, Keiji-kun? ;_; Well, I'm fairly certain the new vid will have something to do with story mode. Don't know about you guys, but I'm hyped for tonight. And for Basara 4, I guess they could try to merge things into a few expansive storylines, with choices that greatly affect the outcome of everything. Kind of like what Koei did with DW4 and WO, except they'd have to make them way longer and way more epic. ...on second thought, that's probably a bad idea, but yeah. It's pretty early to be thinking about a Basara 4. |

Hey, I love KG, and he's my fave of the "poster boys". But even I admit that he's clearly not as much in the way of fetish material as his two earlier counter-parts. It's just how it rolls. 8D Any way, I'd like to think that certainly by SB3: HEROES (or whatever they'll call the expansion), we may be much more prone to seeing things "return to form". After all, how can we hope to fit Nobunaga, Raoh-yoshi and everyone else into the context of SB3's base storyline. It won't work, without a whole lot of extra work, and I doubt Koba or the story writers can be bothered to do that. So, ideally? I'm hoping HEROES will go right back to where we should be. Then SB4, hopefully, can go forth to do its own thing... |
