I think people might be looking too much into this "weapon upgrade" system. All it really seems to be is that they mashed together the weapons and the item equips from the previous game. Instead of equipping the items directly, you equip them to one of the open slots on your weapon. I don't think its going to be some crazy, game-breaking thing. |

Hmm... I do certainly hope as well, that a difficulty is present in this game... I can't stand those types of games where the only challenge is getting started... Ugh... Anywho... What was I gonna say? Erm... Oh ya! Even if the 12 weapons are just 6 different skins and then colors changes, I think I'd be rather happy. Knowing the creativity from some of the people that are working on SB3, however, it may very well be likely that all 12 are, in fact, different in appearance. -- Edit: The post above me, I certainly hope that's what they meant Edited by Oojin, Fri Jun 4, 2010 7:49 pm.

DK, Like I said, I am expecting the game to be more challenging. Just not too much. As for items, if it's going to be like SB2H, I'll just use them until I have a character decently leveled. Now, with everyone maxed out, I mostly just equip Fan of Consecutive Hits, Idaten's Scroll, Uesugi's Salt so I can get more bang for my mook and occasionally a custom soundtrack item. Nothing like cracking skulls at the sound of a Noto ballad...or Matsunaga's theme. *hums synth violin excerpt* The problem with the AI in SB2H at least, is that there was no middle term to it. Regular soldiers were braindead, some bosses didn't put much of a fight but the spear infantry were jerks. Those would always interrupt combos, and if you play on Extreme with a wind element weapon, you're just begging for a beating as the weapon will constantly pull in enemies already "commited" to their attack animations (for this reason, Wind is easily the element I dislike the most). But some enemies do punish mistakes, though I think it depended on the enemy and the player character. Per instances, with Kotaro against ninjas, they'll punish the player if you do air combos while remaining in-place airborne and with Itsuki I learned that when using her launcher skill, to never use the follow up air attack because all the soldiers that weren't launched will attack when she comes down. Abusing Nouhime's close range skills was also kind of "asking for it". And of course, Ichi WAS a sitting duck. This is solely from my experience in SBH2's Extreme difficulty though. Would be great if they made this sort of thing more frequent and for all characters and, as you mentioned, having players use the taunt at their own risk - how about something like God Hand and Bayonetta? Taunted enemies get a increase in attack power, aggression and sturdiness but give a bit more gold and Exp upon defeat? And yes, I hope these extras make the game really awesome, since they seem to be the reason for the small roster. About God Hand and Golden Axe Spoiler: click to toggle

Well, let's put it this way: As it was, the Item System for 2/HEROES already allowed for some characters to be quite broken. If they go any further than that, it could make things "even worse". And, as was stated before, let's not forget that we'll basically have a "power-up with legs" in the form of this game's new "Buddy System". It's a lot of variables to keep track of, and I'm sincerely doubting that Koba-tachi balanced for all that. |

Yep...looking at Mitsunari and then at the possible VS. mode I really see dark...in terms of balance I allways wondered why, even though this game was made by CAPCOM and they allways proudly say "by the dude who made DMC", they had those "difficulty"-levels if you can call it that. They made God Hand. They had the hardest modes EVER in any DMC game. Why not add such a difficulty to SB? Itīs called "Hard" and "Extreme" or "Donīt play if you suck" for a reason. Itīs said a 1000 times now probably, but one of the things Devilkings DID right, was the difficulty...even Tadakatsu was having a hard time, beating the hardest difficulty... And I just looked at the HOME section of CAPCOM. The Sky section is now open, but the only thing in there is the CAPCOM store (for now) and the rest is off limits. Even though it means they are still working that section, I doubt the demo will come out to shorten the time for those who get the JP version... Itīs probably a "after release demo"...so it might not even be out on the release... @Balder: Spoiler: click to toggle

Finally got a chance to check out Oichi's vid and man... they just upped the creepy factor on her didn't they? I liked her naginata but HATED how slow she was with it and now that she's been 'fixed up' I can say I'll have fun maining her. Her victory scene made me a little uneasy but it absolutely fits with her character. On the subject of Musashi: despite Kobayashi saying Ieyasu would be the only one who aged, who's to say the guy couldn't just be redesigned? If he even makes the final cut that is. I enjoyed his moveset but man was he ever an annoying such-and-such. Now, back to Bayonetta. My dear Jeanne is calling Spoiler: click to toggle

Can someone lease give me a follow up on SB2H? I mean. every time I play, I can only use the basic Attack,defense, health, boosters, because I don't know what anything else does! DK, you talked about bodyguards> I didn't even know they existed IN SB!! Unless your talking about the ones that just follow you when you go near them..... Damn, I love that game to bits, but I know that there's so much more to it than I know.... And this might be off-topic, but the SB2H board is dead. The demo? That's gonna be released with an update via Famitsu. I think. And, I don't know a lot of the things I should with HEROES, and I didn't even have a hard time on Hard. So, I really hope the difficulty is as hard as "Dante Must Die". P.S. Masamune should get a alternate costume, and it should be Dante. Magoichi should get a alternate costume, and it should be Trish, Mitusari should simply get a Virgil costume. (Or maybe Hisahide should get the Dante costume. Since they are both on the highest level of BADASS. )

i like those ideas Masemune geting Dantes costume would be awsome i think his DMC2 costume would be best, due to how the cloak is. his other costumes would interfear with the placement of Masemunes swords and it works since Masemunes family name is one letter off from being Dante Dante Date x 3 and magoichi with a trish costume would be perfect. should she get the same hair style as trish, or different? and Mitsunari with Virgels costume would be epic win! maybe Yukimura could get a Nero costume, and maybe Oichi could get a Nevan costume! X 3 t'would be epic win! |

gah....stop with all the DMC thing again already,it becomes quite old now,capcom is not just about DMC,i like,quite a lot,but too much reading/talking about it starting to make me sick,which is one of the reasons why i don't want to have anything to do with FF,gundam SEED,or dragonball,bleach,and naruto anymore.....its so overexpossed that it makes me sick......... some shout outs to DMC are fine,just like when people relate SB to MH,godhand,or even resident evil because of the recent zombie thing,or other games like GGX,etc,but the DMC talk is getting too much....IMO anyways,can it be possible that the weapon and armor slot are filled with THE regular SB items,which basically means that those two equips determines how many powerup items you can carry,how's that for a thought? |

Oi, oi, oi. Thereīs a reason a lot of people talk about Final Fantasy. As well as Dragonball. I admit Naruto and Bleach are kinda meh now...they lost their touch...and Gundam Seed, like it or not. Story wasnīt bad, but men, those sulking emo heroes... And donīt blame me from picking it up, you started it, wodash Let them talk about DMC weapons and costumes. Itīs a neat idea. Itīs not like we have much to talk about, except the oncoming update of greatness...some random pics and gameplay infos Itīs about BASARA, so as long as it doesnīt start to take over, why not? Or has anyone else something better to offer, than to talk about possible weapons, armors, items, etc now that theyīve been confirmed in a big manner? Those 12 weapons offer a lot of playroom. Having a fitting costume for some Yamato wielding Mitsunari would just be awesome And I also think, I would like the idea of some God Hand influence for Ieyasu...having a Kick me sign on Ieyasuīs back with Geneīs outfit...Iīd be a happy fanboy

^well ieyasu already got the god hand influence,when the game is out,try playing the whole game in the hardest diff without taking off his hood,its like the SB version of the "kick me!" challenge!(i'm pretty sure there's a title/trophy that involves this in SB3,although it'll probably just a one stage req,not the whole conquest/story mode..) |

another thought jyust crossed me what if other stuff from capcom games showed up like a ryu costume forIeaysu, from street fighter a morrigan costume for Oichi, from Dark Stalkers maybe even a megaman themed costume for tadakatsu xD so manny awsome ideas for cross over weapons and costumes can be used in this game Megaman Buster for Magoichi!!!! |

...WAT!?! too much speak of crossover...that's not a good thing IMO I'm not to fond of the DMC weapons either, well mainly because DMC isn't my kind of game. Adding Dante I believe was something you said...that would make me not want the game, he'd be too cool to care that a horde of people are charging his way. |

Sounds plausible and personally I wouldn't mind the simplicity said option could bring. With so much customization, it seems we might spend more time setting up our character and allies than playing the actual mission. But the part that left me intrigued in NDY's translation was the mention of "materials". That bit just reeks of MH, like having a blacksmith making items for the player to buy and use on weapons. On a side note, I wonder if we can customize our allies as well, since they level up too. Imagine having the possibility to set up the skills and whatnot for our NPC ally - a character with a full skill set with no excuse to not be playable. How's THAT for the ultimate insult? Yazan Gable, Unless the Basara team gets some last minute enlightenment, I believe there WON'T be a dual-audio option. Shame really, aside NPCs, it's my major complaint about the game. Psst, Ixbran, this is the kind of thing Hondam was talking about i.e. posting for no reason with nothing to add to the discussion... Quick question, if alternate costumes are brought back for this game, which I hope they are, do you think they'll be the same ones from the last game or new ones? And on the topic of Masamune getting a Dante costume, on top of it being very unlikely, it wouldn't work anyway seeing as they have completely opposite colour schemes (and changing it to blue would defeat the object of the costume) About the weapons system, is it going to be like FFXIII where any type of item can be added to the weapon and upgrade it, or will you have to match certain material with the weapons, say, by element. I hope we'll be getting some sort of ultimate joke weapon lol |
