I don't know if it's been confirmed yet, but will the NA release be dual audio?
^ - ^

Nope!

It's been confirmed there will be No Dual Audio Option for the English Release of the game!

I don't understand why you seem so happy about this.

DMC costumes and weapons are a big NO for me. Sure, maybe one or two weapons is okay, but giving the whole cast weapons and costumes from DMC would be completely ridiculous, a line has to be drawn somewhere. Just because Capcom is making the game, doesn't mean they should add a bunch of extra crap from their other games that no-one wants. Bring on some Basara original stuff to the game, and don't rely on DMC crap.

I kinda hope we get some alt costumes, but if we don't It won't bother me, sincei usually just stick to the default costume anyway. I dunno why, but I'll only play as a alt in games for a couple levels maybe, but I'll always go back to the origional, there is just something about it that feelsbetter than the alt. But they're extra additions I would still like to see.

I dunno, the Alts. in SB have always been done very, very well. I still think a lot of them are WAY better than some original costumes. Yukimura, Sasuke, Kojuuro alt color, Musashi, Nagamasa alt color...

So alts. are a huge want for me. Hopefully they keep all of the old ones plus add a new one for each characters, but that may be asking for too much. And on the topic of DMC weapons: I'd take DMC tributes over retarded, actual joke weapons any day.

I wouldnīt want everyone to have DMC stuff too.

But a CAPCOM cotsume or weapon for some would be awesome. I mean a Vergil Mitsunari would be a no-brainer, given that his whole moveset is based on that guy

CAPCOM is known for putting other CAPCOM stuff in CAPCOM games.
I mean even Zack and Wiki had some "8-bit treasures" and some music mini-games with famous CAPCOM themes.

And in Onimusha: Dawn of dreams they had Street Fighter alternate outfits.

So there WILL be stuff from other C-games. And DMC is the most logical, seeing as they allways mention "the guy who made DMC, makes this game".

Spoiler: click to toggle

EDIT:

Hondam, you really donīt like the joke weapons
Some were really silly, but Toshiie wielding that gieant fish and Zabii with speaker boxes...and Kotaroīs needle-pillow were awesome :XD

Sup guys. Haven't posted here for a while. Did they add anything crazy to SB3 to make up for the roster? Like customization and such? Costumes, weaps, etc etc.

I'm sorry, where was this confirmed? Link please

@wodash: Yeah, that's pretty much what I was trying to say earlier and also what I thought I saw in the trailer. It looked like they were equipping SB2-like items onto the weapons. Of course, I only watched the trailer once and it went by pretty fast, so maybe I saw wrong.

eklineage , what did you miss?

Did you see the bodygaurd system? Mechanical special units, like the Zabii Tank, Mitsunariīs horse of doom or Kanbeiīs Dr. Wily Driller?
As well as the new gameplay video of Oichi, the new skill trailer as well as the "preview trailer", which shows the different modes and gameplay additions?

Also every characters has 12 weapons (though we donīt know if they will be unique or not) which can be updgraded with stuff you get when you take of a land/beat a stage.

Um, how would the color schemes ruin the costume? Alternate costumes are supposed to look different. I like DMC4 Dante the best, personality-wise. He is awesome.

Maybe, so that everyone could agree, there would be a "DMC Pack" for DLC. This way, the people who wanted the costumes could get them, and the others don't have to deal with them. I don't think that everyone character should get a DMC costume, only the ones that are really DMC-like.

Crimsondramon, hurry. UP, this is a really good leak, how did you get it so fast?? Can you at least tell us what it says?

:hmmm: Don't be rude.

Its not a new scan, its the one we got Tuesday. But the famitsu scans on tuesdays are leaks, and are early information, but its bad quality and difficult to read. Crimsondramon sometimes buys scans and uploads HQ versions of the full scan so we can see it clearly and with all the info. Its not new scans, Famitsu leaks don't come out this early.

@Divine Justice: We can all say that it was confirmed long ago there will be no Dual Audio :/ That info was released along with the ENG videos of the four main characters, but I don't have an actual link to the confirmation.

I remember the leak of the english videos, but no such press releasing stating there wouldn't be dual audio. Nor do I know where this assumption comes from. If you could at least remember a source (eg IGN) then I'd gladly search myself.

DJ- It came from Koba himself iirc during an interview or something of the sort with a site like IGN. I think the reason was there wasn't enough space on the Wii port of the game compared to the PS3 ver. and for the sake of having both ports the exact same, they had to scrap the dual audio.

Yep, thatīs when we discussed that A) Thatīs bull, the Wii could pull it off and B) if the PS3 and Wii version are the same, why does the PS3 get an online mode?

Oh...wait...the only time we heard about that was at the TGS2009...ever since that time, it was NEVER EVER mentioned again...

Maybe some genius socialist thought "same for everyone" and thatīs why the PS3 gets no dual audio and graphics that couldīve been much better and now they cut the idea of online...

Nah...that wonīt happen...though it would be really nice to get some intel on how this online stuff works. I donīt even really care for a 2-player co-op mode, since beating the crap out of some grunts with 2 players is too easy for me.

It probably wonīt be as deep as Borderlands were the difficulty adjusts to the amount of players...so itīs an easy run through...

Iīd be much more interested in a VS. mode, with different types of modes.

Oh, sorry. Whenever info is coming, I'm not serious when I tell them to hurry up. It's just a little fun thing I do, a joke. ^_^

I. WOULD. LOVE. A VS. MODE. That would be so cool! Maybe, we could start a tournament! (I'd win) ;)

Just an update, I've managed to get Famitsu, I'll scan them when I have the time. Damn midterms isn't really helping me this time ^^;
Thanks. Take your time, of course. Needless to say, your academical duties come first. Best of luck with your midterms.

Akiro,
Don't bother trying to understand our fellow forum member. Personally, I'm thrilled most of my favorites are either excluded or NPC. I mean, it's less, and less is always great!

Hondam,
I agree with you on the alternates. Most are pretty good and even beat the original design in some instances (Kenshin comes to mind). Also, I really enjoyed some alternate palettes like white Motonari, dark skinned tiger Toshiie, Ushi Matsu and Hideyoshi's white and gold armor which was a perfect match for the lion head shoulder pads and lion claw gauntlets (on a opposite note, they looked dreadful on his default costume).
So y'all can point your pitchforks at me all you want, if the alternates are to return, personally I want original designs, I want to see the artistry of Tsuchibayashi shine. Anyone can come up with cosplays, as cool as they might seem they're nothing but a gimmick.
DK mentioned Onimusha, but that game had 3 sets of alternate costumes. If SB3 has something similar - old alt from 2, new alt for 3 and a cosplay - then I'm all for it. But I'm just one of those crazy old coots who thinks the more, the merrier...

eklineage,
Welcome back! On a related note, I noticed a lot of our fellow frequent posters are missing as well. I wonder if they're busy with exams like Crimsondramon.

DK,
I've been hearing good things about DS, but still haven't taken the time to see the game in action. I want to maximize the investment on every game system I get, so I'll look into it. As for MGS4, I've already spoiled the hell out of it. Epic storyline but the gameplay never really attracted me.

On a overall SB3 note, I hope Koba considers dropping a major bomb quick because E3 is here soon and it's probably the title's last major chance of getting good publicity and winning over the Western audience. But he really needs to do something big, because one doesn't need to even leave the Capcom booth for games that will drown out SBSH. I mean...Marvel vs freakin' Capcom 3! Western audiences probably want it more than Japanese audiences.
I know we reached the consensus that SB doesn't need the West to survive as a franchise, but hell!, he might as well try selling his product. No harm comes from making some extra $ and €, right?

I guess the one that spams Mitsunariīs S-String will win -_-

Especially is someone dares to use Yoshihiro...wether improvement or not, Kenshin was unfair back than, but he had at least some style and took his moments to show of how ice cool he is.

Mitsunari on the other side is allways in a rage mode rush and practically never stops attacking.

Itīs like Pit in Smash Bros...unfair little flying projectile shooting/reflecting combo machine bastard...

EDIT:

Yep, E3 is a time to shine. As I said, you donīt have to be the main product, but if you are associated with the main product itīs good too. I bought Red Dead Redemption and only had eyes for that, but I knew and remembered that another game comes out around that time, namely 3DDot Game Heroes.

Itīs often like that, that I buy a game I wanted and see another one I heard about or remembered that comes out the same time or is cheaper now and thus buy it too.

Also, do you think a shirtless guy and some emo guy screaming around will get more attention than Hisahide?

I donīt know, but he seems to hit the sweet spot of most western gamers I see here...wouldnīt it be a good time to make his debut at one of the biggest gaming conferences to get some western attention?

A cool trailer showing him blowing up stuff would certainly get some attention...though, I just remembered that heīd have an english voice...I bet theyīll give him a british sounding voice just like Yoshitsuguīs

So forget about that...

But a neat trailer AND A DEMO (duh) would really help getting some people to know more about the game.

Hmmm...maybe not that old british cliche accent we normally here, but compared to his suffering Kenpachi counterpart, he really sounds like some british gentleman, slurping a cup of tea while holding some crackers.

Itīs the most unfitting voice Iīve ever heard. Really. Itīs even worse than Kermit voicing Vin Diesel.

Hmm, funny, I don't remember Yoshitsugu sounding British (is British herself) during the two seconds or so we heard him speak in Mitsunari's video.

On that note, how long will it be before they get round to releasing the rest of the dubbed videos? I visited the site today and it's pitiful considering the game comes out in summer/autumn , they only have the four main characters and about ten screenshots up there <_<

I agree with Balder, comparing default outfits with alternate outfits Kenshin's alternate completely trumped his usual one. I wonder if the number of armours and accessories will increase as well as the number of weapons?

Likely I won't be able to come on here much during the next two weeks, what with exams and such :(

Well the reason FOR most of the alternates was so they would fit the the characters' weapons/armor. Tadakatsu being one of the main examples. I figure they'll do that again. One actual alternate and another palette swap that's meant to go with certain weapons and armors.

Does everyone here hate me or something? Every time I post the board dies.

Don't feel bad. People usually ignore me unless I'm going on an epic complaint rant. (Also, everyone has either exams, work, or just generally playing games or sleeping at this time, take no offense to it.)

I have no opinion on alternate outfits, so long as they're not just palette swaps or one, minor difference. If they're in the game, great! If not, I doubt I'll notice it when I'm tearing through the battlefield and racking up the combos anyway.

And I'll never understand why they've decided to make this game for PS3 and Wii, when they want to try and make them equal. The two consoles are just so different that it's almost impossible to make them equal without severely gimping the other. At least as far as dual audio and graphics go. Graphics I can get over, but we all know the Japanese voices will trump the English voices. I find it impossible that the Wii can't handle dual audio, when their competition was able to squeeze it in (despite the FMVs taking up a lot of space on the disc). Then again, why put anything on the Wii that isn't going to utilize the motion controls anyway? Ugh, it seems just so stupid to me... I'd much rather have games like Muramasa the Demon Blade and SW3 on the PS3 or xb360.

At least Capcom did the right thing and made this game available on the PS3, as gimped as it is (yes I say gimped, even with online mode... because I'm not going to use it. It's as useless to me as that stupid castle mode in SW3.) So, thank you Capcom for staying true to your fans (and of course wanting more money XD).

Muramasa... now that you mentioned it... I too have played it and totally finished it. Really a good game with those great graphic style and music. :)

Now, if only SBSH's localization was as good as thi....... uh, no, nevermind. Back to anticipating S2:TW then. (ī・ω・`)

Hmmm...itīs really strange why the didnīt put in the dual audio...either they knew the voices are so bad compared to the original BASARA screams we came to know and love that nobody would use them and thus they completely stripped that option off...

Or that game is really so big that it takes up so much space...(looks at a laughable "lot of playables" and 100 grunts and NPCs...)

Nah...itīs probably the first, when I look at Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter 3 (of course voices and videos take up some space, but damn look at the graphical power, the scale of the world and the value thatīs in those games and then tell me SB3 takes up more space  )

If PS2 games could handle dual audio options as well as had cutscene and dialogue heavy games like Final Fantasy X, X-2 and GTA:San Andreas, which should take up a lot of space too, why canīt the Wii, a next gen console? I mean are 15 playable characters, 35 stages, 12 weapons and some random path story mode too much for a game were each stage consists of a corridor filled with enemies, not like other open world games with the scale of 500 football fields?

Bet the NPCs take up too much space -_-

It has double the power that the gamecube had, which was superior to the PS2 in terms of that and instead of using those puny GC dics, the Wii now uses normal DVDs...so donīt tell me lies, Koba

I see... Well, that's pretty lame then. Oh well, I was planning to get both anyway.

Just started playing SB2 again and I've been wondering... Has it been confirmed whether Unification mode will be back or not? I mean, the new story mode looks kind of similar I guess, but wouldn't that take us back to square one (SB1, for that matter)? Any thoughts on this?

If koba gave me another reason than blaming dual audio on the wii.. then I would have believed him.Maybe he should have taken out some of the npcs to fit it in or something. I would love to hear masamune's jp VA tbh.

It's not like we can play with NPCs anyhow.

I absolutely love when Capcom tries to balance everything out amongst systems that are almost completely different in capabilities...
They completely scrapped Monster Hunter Tri for the ps3 because of...
Well...there were a lot of reasons...
*Sigh*
Ugh...
That's so idiotic though...
Big deal if the Wii can't hold dual audio, the Wii also costs less than a ps3...
Whatever...
-

I honestly hope they keep away from DMC weapons...
I'd much rather have a weapon similar to Nagamasa's joke, which ended up being one of his best weapons because of its range, in the game, rather than some mimicked and altered sword I've seen else where...

I seriously think they're being lazier by adding a tribute weapon from DMC, than they are by mashing heads together and creating a joke weapon

Agreed, the thing is developers have gotten lazier as time has progressed. Back when you had the Saturn and PS1...now that is where it truly is at. Even the Sega CD with Lunar n' such. Anywho not having dual audio, well there really isn't much of an excuse considering it's next gen. I also agree that DMC weapons would be meh...I'd rather have some unique weapons. With 12 slots though I guess one wouldn't hurt. I'm more concerned with whether or not Yoshi got improved. Kind of wish Itsuki was still in the game. Every game is better when there is a loli with a hammer.

Gimped....online mode...eh? Online co-op is not even similar to SW3's castle of stupid BS. People want online co-op in games, its not exactly a waste. The castle mode in SW3 was never asked for, with its absurd tasks and overly unfair gameplay.
