I'm 100% sure it was him. Read his name tag and everything. A lot of big video game designers were there. Even ex-Team Ninja game designer Tomonobu Itagaki was taking pictures with people across the booth.

After playing the E3 demo of SB3 today, I'd rather shake his hand. The game is amazing and seriously trumps the SW3 series in terms of action/gameplay.
Still, you could at least glare at him evilly and avenge those lost in the realm of NPCness. :XD For shame.

In all honesty, though, I'm sold on this game, despite the overwhelming NPCs and character cuts anyway. I just wish there was a way for me to get this game but not give him a single cent. Wait, there is... buying it used! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Whatever. I can still hope for an expansion later on down the road to fix whatever issues this game has. So long as the gameplay stays the way it is.

That "ei" in the end of names like Kanbei and Hanbei is read "e". So I guess they wanted people to pronounce them the right way...

Hideyoshi and Keiji (in particular) say "Hanbe--", not "HanbeI", after all....

Wait, wait, wait...

I was joking back then, that they drop the online co-op mode and just have DLC to rip off people...

This is a joke too, right? No dual audio and no online mode?

Is this true? Some fancy gameplay videos will not help over that.

Though we have to admit, where did we get the online stuff back then...as far as I remember from IGN...the guys who spoiled Yukimori and Mitsumori...

Oh well...at least Sweet Tooth features an online mode 2011...gotta wait for a good online game now -_-

Some of the voices are horrible
And the translation errors are somewhat funny. Reminds of "All your base are belong to us". Maybe itīll be the next internet meme? Guess only in japan though :P

Kotaro looks awesome. Canīt wait to see Yoshihiroīs video...

But I really want to know what the last character is. Get it over with CAPCOM, after you killed our dream of playing with our SB buddies you can kill the dream of a last character too <_<

I haven't seen Keiji anywhere, I hope he isn't cut from the NA/EU version  .

Well, they knew that a schoolgirl shooting pink arrows isnīt exactly what western gamers understand under "badass" and "epic".

A silent black/white killing machine that is faster than the Shurikens he throws on the other hand...

BTW ladies and gentleman, if there is no Co-op mode online, whatsoever, but the online sign as well as Playastation Network sign on the packshot, leads us to one possible conclusion:

A)Thereīs at least a VS. mode or something like that

B) Weīll end up having DLC.

Seeing as the new Mortal Kombat will feature DLC, MvsC3 will probably feature DLC and I doubt Twisted Metal will not take use of it...they only follow the trend.

God, how I hate DLC...making you pay for stuff that shouldīve been there to begin with...though in case of Mortal Kombat and MvsC3 itīll probably be fair...with SB3 and the forced NPC festival on the otherhand...

I smell another Soul Calibur strategy here...

Hope Iīm wrong, cause even though a HEROES expansion would be milking too, itīs solid, doesnīt take up space on my PS3 and I donīt have to worry about corrupted data problems, etc... -_-

It would be nice to know, if they have something like that. Get your butt up Kobayashi and spitt it out if we have to important those damn PSN cards too, or not.

BTW how much is a 3000 and a 5000 points card?

Seeing as a 5000 points card costs over 60 bucks, itīs damn expensive. So I hope you can buy a full PS3 game, PSP game and a PSN title with it.

What I mean with that, what does "stuff" normally cost in japan? How does that point system work?

Is that Liam O'Brien voicing Ieyasu?...that's epic. Richard is a good Kanbei. Seriously though now I'll be thinking of Gotto hitting on every woman ever when I play as Ieyasu. Which reminds me Gust should totally do a Mana Khemia 3. good stuff at E3 thus far, can't wait to see what's on later today.
And then you remember that he has also voiced Vayne. Oh damn.
And I'd rather have a Mana Khemia 2 Portable in English.

The voices are nice, but I'm still afraid of what they're going to do with Ichi.

And Kotaro looks like a damn juggler. Which is awesome.

Hmmm...you are right AdawgDaFAB, at the official packshot thereīs no sign of it.

Itīs just on the packshot substitute that all of the online sites who sell the game, use, even the asian ones.

So the online features were just to get attention? Another thing that goes down the toilett...though if thereīs no online mode whatsoever, itīs DLC that goes down there and thatīs were it belongs.

Yep, no online seems to be about right.
http://www.capcom-europe.com/games/Sengoku-BASARA-Samurai-Heroes-Sony-PS3

You can see that the ony thing there is the 1-2 players option. No Online modes or even online functions.

Sucks that we donīt have a VS. mode...another thing that wonīt really increase itīs popularity on the western market and I guess some gamers out there, even in japan, you "SB only japan :meantongue: "-people, will be dissapointed.

I wonīt. It means no DLC. And I wouldnīt have bought SB3 for online, since thatīs what games like Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet and Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3/Mortal Kombat are for.

Now hurry up and reveal the last character CAPCOM :ph43r:

I still am holding out hope for online co-op. Just because it was the very first thing I heard for the game upon learning it was ps3 and I got friends buying ps3s just for the game so it would be awesome to play with them.

You know a sentence that has HOPE and SENGOKU BASARA 3 in it, will never really work.

Hope is something you should reserve for games you know, that will do everything right. Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3 has a new style and gameplay, but still manages to add a lot of characters.
It allready has 10 characters. Though the budget is on another level than the one CAPCOM granted SB3... -_-

I had hoped that it would succeed over here too, so it would get more attention from the higher ups in the big C building, but as it seems their budget will go to the same games (Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, etc.) as allways. <_<

Oh well, but thatīs an old story. Letīs just hope theyīll reveal "the icing of the cake" some of you like to call the last character, thatīll be added to the amazing 15 playable characters.

Though Iīve noticed something that bothers me. There seems to be no restriction on those "Super Moves". And they really are unfair and deal a lot of damage...

I hope there is some limitation, but since this games looks like itīs allready a walk through a park full of candy cotton and extremely intelligent stones that move less then normal stones, the limitless spam of Super Moves might even ease that even more.

What happens when a second player enters the battlefield then?
Does the game shut down and just say:"You won" without even trying?

Now Iīll ask you too, Jsun:

How was the difficulty. Afterall, the western gamers seem to be able to play harder games, did they tune up the difficulty?

NDY and Hondam said as far as I remember the demo looked like it was in easy mode, though at least the bosses put up some fight.

how was your play? Anytime feeling a bit pressured, challenged or felt the need to use your BASARA?

Jsun,
You could have at least yelled "Yo' momma is NPC!" at him from afar.
I keed, keed. Looking forward to hear more of your impressions. As DK said, I'm curious about the difficulty as well. Also, I'd like to know if the bodyguards and/or special units were featured?

And let me get this straight, the online functions are, in their entirety, a lie? :(
Better cross fingers for the expansion. Seems I'll end up sticking to the original plan - buy SBSH for the Story mode and buy the eventual SB3H for the mindless entertainment. Would be great if western gamers got the expansion with online play and dual audio though.

On a side note, was checking the videos section at Capcom Europe's SBSH page and couldn't help but notice "YUKIMARA gameplay". Is it really so difficult to get these names right?
I can't wait to see what will transpire when they get to the actual tricky ones like "Chousokabe" or "Kobayakawa"...

Who? I think you must have the names confused with someone else, the only ones close to it are the awesome pirate guy with an anchor Chocokable and that insect looking guy Kobabababa.

Short surmise of flood of entertainment: Kotaro is a monstrous beast, Kanbei is awesome, I enjoyed the voices for most of the cast(didn't really mind Maggie's), loved seeing Mitsunari's demon mode in action and Yukimura's flame wheel and Kanbei's charged up hedgehog move, fun to see more gameplay video's overall. Finally, it's true that the super skills seem a bit overkill(even for BASARA) but I'm sure there's some restriction that we just didn't see. Maybe that you have to had killed a certain number of enemies on the stage or that it takes a part of your basara gauge or some such.

And we still have Chesto's video to look forward to tomorrow. Very nice.

Difficulty was fairly easy until I got to Motonari who did put up a good fight. The demo I think is on easy or normal cause I didn't lose much health till I got to him.

Pretty sure Capcom has one-upped Koei in every department with this game. It's faster, flashier, more memorable, and if it stays true to SB 1 and 2, a lot harder too. Remember the easy and normal modes of 1 and 2 were a cakewalk as well, it was only hard mode that ramped things up.

And those complaining about online and versus... you don't have any friends at all near you? I hate online games. What's the point of playing with someone if you're not sitting beside them? If they screw up you can smack them across the head or take their slice of pizza. And these sort of games aren't made for versus. there's no balance or variety in one-on-one fights in Warriors or Basara games, the versus modes in DW always sucked. If you want to go one on one with somebody, buy a fighting game.

Umm...really?

When I played SB1 and even more SB2, I searched for the hard mode, when I realized that I allready selected it.

The only difference was that normal soldiers were all turned into those "officer type soldiers" and officers attacked more often.

Thatīs it. The grunts were dumb as allways and for a Lv. 30 character it was as easy as taking a ringworm out for a walk.

The only difficulty I faced was when playing the "bastard version of it".
Devilkingsī Hard mode...was HARD. I feared Yoshihiroīs stage everytime I played that mode, even on normal. That ossan and his troops really gave me a hard time.

And, well, I was looking forward, playing with some of the SB board here. You can talk here BTW or get some headphones so you can talk online.

Also whatīs wrong with an online mode? Itīs not that it wouldīve decreased the overall size of the roster since any smaller and they couldīve sold it for 15.99$ as a Playstation Network title.
And it wouldīve been more welcome than that useless Bodygaurd feature that everyone will probably use 5 times and then forget about it.

Wow...just imagine: 2 Player Co-op Offline Tadakatsu and Yoshihiro, paired with a unfairly fast Mitsunari and to complete the power trio Muneshige as their bodyguards? Add the BASARA attacks, slow motion and Super Skills and youīll end up pressing one button over and over again, since the grunts wonīt even try defend themselves anymore, like Australia against the German in the recent World Cup game of 4:0  (okay, germany was in top form and some bad luck was there for Australia)

Give us the last character, so we can concentrate on the good games out there CAPCOM. You had your chance with building up hype, now get it done with release the character, get out a demo on PSN and get working on the HEROES expansion. -_-

Well, i dont know about you, but my friends are not into Hack n Slash, and i wont exactly force them to play it...

And i dont know, but with the NPCs and all, this game still looks pretty cool to me, and doesnt seem this game was about being hard anyways.

^_^ i'm liking the SB turn out but really dissapointed theres no online stuff that pretty backwards lol.
Mago's voice is kinda cool (i'm a fan of women who kick ass, all the innocent girly stuff doesn't do em any favours) Mago= WIN
Ieyasu however  what the hell... lol he sounds wrong :hehe:

overall impressive stuff but easily overlooked, the review at IGN wasn't as harsh as people make out (even if they can't spell the names right).
A game titles are so much more than combat these days its hard to satisfy a huge crowd which is why they gave it a thumbs down for the ps3 and thumbs up for the WII.

i'll buy it anyways but thats the only type of love its getting from me, other than that these past few months this title has only turned out to be nothing special :(

Did anyone else realize that there were about 3 pages full of excited fans talking about the great new news we got, and then buzzkill DK piped in to crash it all down? Really dude, you can manage to turn just about everything into a negative. Super skills suck because somehow you know how they are used in terms of gameplay and have already broken the difficulty, again with the character count, and even the entire bodyguard system is useless. It is amazing that you know all this information before us, you must have an early copy of the game.

Seriously dude, people are genuinely excited about the game, we don't need constant giant rants about how bad everything is. Sorry, everyone doesn't feel the same way as you and your giant complaint posts aren't going to change anything.

Now, to change the subject, have we gotten any info on the Famitsu info yet?

Also, Jsun, I really hope you get to try out Kanbei and let us know how he is (probably my most looked forward to character)

3rd, US is getting SW3 on Sept 28, wonder if the two games are going to drop on the same day, that would be pretty interesting (but I think would ultimately hurt both series')

Lastly, glad to hear everyone is all excited for Kanbei now, I remember when he was first announced, and even through the course of his first gameplay video, most people didn't seem to like him very much.

LMAO! i'm sure people on here aren't really like that are they :/ lol

Everyone's been disappointed in one way or another (I certainly have)
i'm not saying this title is bad but I believe that if someone is in the business of design the only competition (at the best of times) should be yourself and fact is this isn't better than SB2:H so... Competition failed.

But no worries theres always next year we all make mistakes (or forget to add major parts in) just don't repeat them :)
