Oh man...I can forget about Sengoku BASARA 3 now.

Twisted Metal is back...better than ever.

They even kept the stuff that made it good, unlike a certain other game

Thereīs now an army of Sweettooths and a real Transformers Laughing Clown Ice Truck...epic.

But well, getting off-tracks. It seems there is a preview out there of Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3. So it seems people know the Capcom area exists and were allready there...

Might take a while till we see something BASARA related. Afterall people will want to try out Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3, Portal 2, Twisted Metal, the new Zelda/Kirby/Donkey Kong games, etc. first -_-

Though werenīt they saying there would be news on BASARA during the E3? I hope itīs soon. Though I have to admit, I, probably like a lot, lost interest in BASARA after seeing those aweomse games.

BTW the Marvel vs. CAPCOM preview at IGN is superb...this looks epic. One more game added next to Twisted Metal and Little Big Planet 2.
DK......You got a new Twisted Metal...........and I didn't get a new DMC.....how the hell did that happen? A new TM was DOUBTED by the DEVELOPERS! THE DEVELOPERS! DMC5 has been rumored for 3 years, and now I've gotta wait till TGS 2010, only to be let down.....yet again

Well at least I got a new Sly Cooper game, and MGS: Rising blew me away.
(Confirmed by Konami that stealth is back, you have two options: stealth...or CUTTING.)

Anyway.....I hope the update is great this week.....last week's was very disapointing....leaks today, right?

NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT :o

There really was no announcement of DMC5.

Actaully I thought theyīd show at least a teaser... :ph43r:

Well, I feel your pain...if I wouldnīt have gotten my Twisted Metal the news about no online in BASARA 3 wouldīve hurt much much more.

Damn it Balder, now Iīm going to watch some Bugs Bunny and Road Runner.(for the well written shields that Coyote shows when he wants to tell us something...Kotaro and Tadakatsu should use those too)

Hey a caveman fight is funny to watch sometimes. I just watch Planet Hulk and though it pretty much is the same thing you mentioned, it was entertaining (Hulk mixed with the movie Gladiator = Green Caveman clobbing)

Well, gotta prepare now, guess old man Shimazu has a lot to tell us about the youngsters

Evidence one:
http://s411.photobucket.com/albums/pp191/koeiwarriors/BlackKite/?action=view&current=vlgame018505.jpg

No PSN logo on the official box.

Evidence two:
http://www.capcom-europe.com/games/Sengoku-BASARA-Samurai-Heroes-Sony-PS3

There is no Co-op, Online or Downloadable content highlighted.

Evidence three:
It was never mentioned again after itīs TGS2009 debut and the source we had that from, as far as I remember, was IGN.

Yeah. The online Co-Op mode was mentioned by the guys that brought us Mitsumori and Yukimori. :uh:

Also, I guess it was RZ (sorry if I have the wrong one :ph43r: ) that got the news that the 2 player mode is restricted to offline only.

Again, BASARA was never about online and without some online modes we donīt need online, since the only thing you could do then is DLC or leaderboards.

And Iīm not really interested in the latter and want, as many others, a solid piece of plastic for my money, if there is an expansion and not in form of DLC.

EDIT:

Thatīs what I meant Akiro, thank you :P
So yeah, with all we know, that pretty much adds up.

But again, they might add that with an expansion, just like they added the VS. modes and Co-op play in Sengoku BASARA 2: Heroes.

BTW...with friends in the Fun Area?

So not with us :hmmm:

• Team up with a friend in offline co-op play to crush opponents.

Now, it doesn't say there will be no online, but at the same time, it doesn't even mention it, which most games boast about online factors, especially if past games didn't have any.

Online future for SB3 is looking dim, which is a shame, I was going to play it with some friends in the Fun area. =/

Whatever...
It's not like the game's out yet, and there's supposed to be information today...

Besides, that box art doesn't even look like it's 60% finished...

Additionally, that's the SB:SH trailer...
It's not exactly accurate...
Note the fact▬

Capcom never releases game expansions like that...
They'd lose money...
If you want a recent example:

Don't you mean Ideas Tokugawa? =/

But yeah, it hasn;t been 100% confirmed that there wont be online mode, but it probably was cut too. Hopefully not though, if they can muster up an offline mode, what is so hard about an online mode? I'm honestly asking this, because I don't know much about online and how it affects the budget and how long it take to implement it into a game, I'm familar with other aspects when it comes to game development, so If someone knows an answer to my question, would ya mind? =D

Gamespot E3 hands on

They actually have nothing but good things to say about it! Shocking! It really is a positive little write up, hopefully people will take note of it.

At the end of it they say its scheduled for release on Oct 1st, but I don't know if that's a specific release date they got, or they are just using the placemark that has been floating around (unless that gamestop placemark has actually been the real release date all along)

That's the date we have at GameStop at the moment anyway. It's more then not likely to change, I think... certainly isn't Street Dated.

G4TV preview of the game, complete with everyone's favorite producer. He doesn't mention anything we don't already know, and he says there's no specific release date, just Fall 2010

when in doubt:dont post!,which is why i just skipped to the last page after the new info/vids stopped appearing and the hype was over

anyways,i guess it'll be epic if all of the typo'ed names comes out uncorrected and actually used in the game,BK cannot hate SBSH or capcom as much since it'll be like DK's name changes:yukimori sanada =/= sanada yukimura =/= scorpio, they have the same face, same costume, and mostly same moves, but they're not the same guy>.< ditto with saica, ideas, mitsumori, and the other hilarious SBSH cast....

also,it'll be REALLY amusing if they actually switched the names a la street fighter,so yukimori uses six swords, mitsumori wields dual spears, and so on....just like the whole vega/bison/balrog switcheroo dont you think? :sly:

as for the JP vs US version, aside from the VA's,the songs are gone!,i'll be damned if the BGM item returns in the US version and all you get is DMC4's "never surrender" song playing again and again and again.......a la DK's BGM item

there,i posted, now if you excuse me i'm going to kill some more made up wyverns with my AK-47 and cook canned rations with a BBQ spit...

Did someone confirm that there will not be any japanese options in the english version? I remember hearing somebody say that awhile back, but I want to confirm it.

So I'm guessing no online co-op then? Just a hoax? If this is true, I gotta reinform my friends... Guess I won't be playing with some of them :(

Yes, no Japanese language in the English version.

As for online, although nothing is confirmed, the capcom-unity blog specifically states that there is offline co-op, but doesn't say anything about online. Now, while there is a chance this could simply be due to the fact that they don't want to announce online co-op yet for one reason or another, it is much more likely that it simply just won't be part of the game. But there is nothing set in stone yet about that.

In all realities...
I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually patched SB:SH with the online co-op ability...
I mean, it's not like similar hasn't been done before...
And, I still don't understand what makes a good amount of you so squeamish about DLC and what not though...

CONFIRMED GAME DETAILS AT E3 TODAY

No Online play whatsover, only Offline Co-op. More playable characters will be announced and BASED OFF THE ANIME. I was told it would be characters who are very important to the anime series and won't be announced till a few weeks before the game releases. The game will include anime cutscenes as well.

I got all these details from one of the Capcom product managers at the booth. So yeah expect to see some more characters.

ALSO, Europe will be getting a Special Limited Edition of the game that will come with the Anime DVDs.

While that sounds incredibly awesome, something about it just doesn't sit right with me, there has to be a mistake in there somewhere. It just seems very strange... (sorry, I just don't want to get my hopes up)

Edit: Also, did the site update for anyone yet? Seems strangely late, maybe due to the bossman being at E3?

Well, that just made me really, really sad (had friends buying PS3's just to play Co-op online w/ me) and really happy (seemingly some new characters still to come).

Either way thanks for the news Jsun and hope you got to enjoy the game @ E3 some more today ^__^.

Geez, what happened here?

Anywho, I wouldn't trust that JP boxart much more than the NA placeholder. That is the promotional boxart that appeared on Kobayashi's blog months ago, plus a real boxart wouldn't have the game's release date plastered on it (in bright yellow, nonetheless).

That Capcom-Eu site lists in bold black that there is a 2 Player option, but then why is the Co-Op box not bolded? Why even bother putting the Online and DLC boxes there? Being Canadian, I don't exactly frequent Capcom's Euro site, but do they have those boxes on EVERY game (even ones that only have 1 v 1 multiplayer with no online, as the page claims SBSH to be? )

There's something fishy here.

[Edit] Oh Jsun...proved me wrong even as I type my post...my my... :P
Also, WHOZAJIGGYWHAT?!?! ...Based off the anime? Is the anime getting original characters or something? And where are anime cutscenes going to fit in between the CG ones? It would be a strange contrast, I think, but then again, the original/DK had that as well.
A bizarre turn of events...and where the hell is Chesto's video? The site should have updated by now.
*sigh* Ok, my last day of school was today, I can sleep this all off (plus I'm hazy from IGN's preview of Portal 2...I need new pants...).

Kudos to Gamespot (never thought I'd say that) for making a fair and balanced preview for Samurai Heroes. The guy over-estimated Sunday I think (running away and spamming the Basara attack), but at least he made note of "responsive controls" and "variety of enemies", not to mention the level design ("BEHOLD THE SOLAR NEXUS").

[Edit#2] Doubt this is as major as a big game-site, but a guy from Japanator played the E3 demo (the Wii version) today.
"Finally, I got to sit down and play a bit of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes. Let me tell you, for a Wii game, it looks fantastic. I would even say the visuals rival that of the HD port for Koei's Dynasty Warriors 5 that was released in Japan, and while the gameplay may seem similar at first glance, the actual mechanics are quite different. In fact, I soon realized that I was running around like an idiot after trying to musou every time I found a group of enemies.

After getting the hang of it though, I found the gameplay to be solid and seemingly more open-ended than Koei's Samurai Warriors series. There was actually decent AI involved, which helps. Also note that the unit I played on used a classic controller pro. I'm not sure how the game will control out of the box, but assuming you buy the bundle with the controller, it'll be fun times."

I had a chance to see the graphics for both the PS3 and the Wii. The Nintendo Wii version is slightly better than Samurai Warriors 3. The PS3 version is just amazing to play and really is visually smooth.

The re-occurring characters in the 2nd season of the anime will be the next people in line to be announced as playable apparently.

Any other information you guys want me to find out tomorrow?

Motonari is who the lot of you refer to as 'Sunday' no?

And if so...why?

Damn, I'd really like to ask something of you, Jsun...
But I think it's just a bit too much ^ ^;

Hmmm I wonder if maybe this means Hanbei and Hideyoshi are still going to be in the game (They WERE shown off in the Story CG Op). They may be dead but they could be NPC enemies in the beginning of some character's story mode where they die, setting the gears in motion. If they are also playable then they could be playable in the other, non-story, modes. I'm not gonna hold my breath for it, but it is something I've thought about for a long time since they initially only listed the "Oda 6" as "taking a break". I always guessed the rest of the cast would return as PC or NPC (yes, that would give Shingen the same proposed treatment as as H&H). Time will tell I suppose.

Why don't you ask if there are any possibilities for the NPCs to be playable via DLC down the line? Could be interesting to see how they answer that.

In one of Zabii's stages in SB2, he "converts" Motonari and Yoshihiro and gives them "Christian" names.
Mori Motonari becomes "Sunday Mori".
Shimazu Yoshihiro becomes "Chesto Shimazu".
When you encounter them in the level they are seen worshipping a picture of Zabii with pink flowers around him, and going "Ah...Zabii-sama..." One of the pics with Ieyasu and Muneshige on the main site shows a similar pic with him and Sorin :P

@Jsun

I would like to know about unlockable content, i.e. costumes and whether or not there are any, but I wonder if that would be confidential...hope not :P
I'm still quite surprised by this random "oh hey, they're ARE more characters" thing.
