Musashi has been recently confirmed as appearing in the anime's second season. And now hey say that characters from the anime will be in the game.

I guess we know at least one of these new characters, folks.

(After all, there's no one else (that isn't a completely new character) that could appear in the anime and the game...Hideyoshi and Hanbei are dead in the game, and any other possible entry is dead in the anime...)

Clover, don't worry: DK's long ass rants might stand out, but the rest of the population is relatively psyched about the game.

Hell, even Necrosis shows some enthusiasm. So don't worry, there's plenty people ticking the days off the calendar.

I had a chance to see the graphics for both the PS3 and the Wii. The Nintendo Wii version is slightly better than Samurai Warriors 3. The PS3 version is just amazing to play and really is visually smooth.

The re-occurring characters in the 2nd season of the anime will be the next people in line to be announced as playable apparently.

Any other information you guys want me to find out tomorrow?
May I ask what you mean by "re-occurring"?

Also, if you can get more people to confirm the fact that there are indeed more than one more new playable character, that would be incredible. Especially make sure they know you mean PCs. It's not that I don't trust your word Jsun, I just don't trust theirs, or at least think they are prone to mistakes (I've seen enough of it from watching too much E3 this week)

What confuses me though, is then what does this mean for that booklet that was supposed to have 34 total characters? It just doesn't seem to add up.

Lastly, if you get a chance to play as Kanbei, let us know how he is. My only concern is that he might be difficult to use due to slow/laggy attacks

Thanks again for all the information!

Edit: Sorry, but if it isn't too much trouble, yeah make sure to ask about armor pieces and alternate costumes returning. Thanks!

Alright so I'll be asking about DLC, unlockable content, and possibly if Oda or Hanbei will be returning tomorrow.

I'm making a list of questions now since tomorrow is the last day.

I asked a product manager from Capcom. I don't think he was BSing me because he said more characters will be released before it releases, like a week or two. And yes I did explain everyone's gripes about half of the characters being NPCs.

Random conjecture: Maybe they will add Kojirou to the anime and him and Musashi could be the ones the guy was hinting at.

Well, I asked the guy directly if Musashi would be returning and he said re-occurring characters from the anime, meaning important characters from the 2nd season will be announced.

My only guess if this is true is that we would have a final four (lending credit to the website #s): Hisahide, Musashi, Kojiro, and a new character

Edit: Also, I just want to say thanks again Jsun, I appreciate the investigative journalism you are conducting and I don't want to seem like I'm just barking orders at you for answers

Well, it means that the next ones to be announced over there are the Motos and Keiji, guys. Simple as that.

Which means..... I must..... resist.... using..... Ura...... mode........ >_<;;;;

*ahem* But I wonder how are they going to explain that Kenshin, Kasuga and the Maedas are unplayable despite them also being reoccuring characters in the anime...
And yeah, recently Musashi is confirmed to be appearing in the 2nd season anime, so if that is also a clue, there's a good chance the last playable will be him.
Most likely there will be still no Kojiro, and if he stays bratty... I'm done for. \(^o^)/

Crap, I didn't think of it like that. They could simply be talking about the characters that weren't being shown at E3. They may have been speaking in the mindset of talking to US people who knew nothing other than what was presented at E3.

I think I forgot to mention that the release date for North America will be sometime around September or October. I asked specifically if they were trying to compete with SW3, but he just told me those are the two months they're looking at for release.

Also asked about the name changes/spelling in western order (ex: Magoichi Saica). The guy told me they did it to make the game more appropriate for Western audiences. He said they're treating this as a complete reboot to make up for Devil Kings.

B-but...calling her Saica instead of Saika...
Ugh...
Well...
I'm just glad they didn't call her Crow or something...
I can live with that ^ ^;

For some reason the official site update is so slow, but Yoshihiro's video is already up elsewhere.

So has Shimazu Man been beefed up? He still has the wonky combo, but other than that I don't know how he played before. : P

Musashi appearing in the anime? Sweet.

Even better chances Musashi will get in the game yet? Sweeter.

Yoshihiro's Video- His basic attack string, while no major improvements, looks like it has at least somewhat of less drawback and downtime. But his skills on the other hand? Cotdamn. Never thought I'd see the day where the old drunk actually would be able to combo well, but practically all of his skills shown link together very well. Oh and that new energy wave skill looks awesome to use. Going by Yoshi and all the other vets, it's almost as if we're practically going to be playing new characters with them. They may be familiar, but the buffs, tweaks, and improvements make them seem very, very fresh at the same time. Kudos to Capcom for that.

Mitsunari's stage, assuming it's Sawayama Castle, looks pretty cool too. Finally get to see the Toyotomi Dark Horse in action, seems pretty fast. Yoshitsugu is just being a freak, like always, and Mitsunari slicing that first foot soldier in his intro was good for laughs.

Jsun- Much thanks for the info, appreciate it. Glad to hear you're stoked over it after playing the demo, cause I was too. :hehe:

robotzombie- Everyone, clap for 'em.

Now that's what I call gameplay! Not only did the video showcase Yoshihiro's moveset but it also showed some important functions in the game. Who knew you could now smash boxes by simply dashing into them? Also that clash system looks really cool. More button mashing goodness.

By the way, did anyone else notice that Yoshihiro somehow had slower movement speed? I don't remember him being this slow.

Also, I'm loving the stage's BGM. Reminds me of Jigoku Shoujo's Jigoku Rock.

^ I thought he seemed much faster than how he used to be. Him and Zabii were easily the two slowest characters, but now he seems almost at normal speed, or at least faster than Yoshitsugu.

And I wish they showed the finisher of the battle clash, or had them do it surrounded by enemies. Doing it in the demo surrounded by grunts is epic, they all get sent flying away and then if you win you get to end it with a nice ass final move kinda thing.

^Oh cool.

About those special move after winning battle clashes, do you perform a generic slash or do each of the characters have a special attack animation? And how big is the damage?

Been awhile since I went and played it last but iirc there all unique moves, though nothing extremely flashy or anything. Pretty sure Ieyasu's was a mean punch combo. And they did some worthwhile damage, which they should 'cause personally I found the clashes almost hard. Nearly lost a few times.

I also forgot to mention. At one point, Mitsunari's HP was almost down to zero then next scene he has his HP back up.

Do bosses now recover?

Most likely just editing the scenes in a certain order. Happens all the time. KO counts change, Lifebars, ETC ETC. They do multiple playthroughs to get "cool" stuff and splice it together.

Well, the "re-occuring" characters pretty much refers to Keiji and the Motos...
And BK´s right, I want to know what they have in the "lie bag" about that.

So forget about Musashi´s or anyone´s chances increasing.
He was talking about the characters we haven´t seen yet.

They will release the rest in September/October, meaning they´ll show the Motos, Keiji, Oichi, Tsuruhime, Yoshitsugu and Yoshihiro + the super secret character even we don´t know about

And thanks for the support NDY
I gave a promise, I´m a man of my words.
I´ll wait for the subs then we´ll know what the ossan has to say (still have to watch the video though)

And I´m shocked at the positive support of gamestop. It doesn´t mean they´ll do the same for the actuall review...but damn me, I was wrong about them. They just got my respect for them back...at least a bit. -_-

EDIT:
On a funny side note: All the people giving it good comments, are having anime characters, CAPCOM characters or even SW/DW/WO characters as their avatar.

All the other ones have the typical "boobs waggling", "guy shooting" or other random stuff.

You can say that the target audience likes it obviously

Y'know, I'm really not getting a good feeling with all of this reliance on the anime for clues. The games and the anime are supposed to be 2 seperate entities. Hell, in the anime, IEYASU DIES. But now it just feels like either the game is turning into an adaptation of the anime (which it shouldn't) or the anime is turning into a marketing device for the game (which it shouldn't).

And Gamestop's already shown the kind of reaction that I feared would happen: Some guy walks up to SB3, believes it's DW7, and bashes it for being a DW rip-off while holding down the square button. I knew at least one company was gonna fall into that trap; just imagine how many average joes will as well.

PLEASE, G4, you dumbasses are doing weekly coverage. Cover this game. Say something stupid. I know you will. I dare. I DOUBLE DARE YA, MOTHAF***A

Hmmm...just watched One-Hit-Ossan´s video.

Seems he got Kenshin´s air slice, just that it´s more of a Cloud Strife version and thus takes longer to charge, thus isn´t that unfair, but deals more damange.

It sucks that his BASARA is again an upgraded left-right-left-right S-string, but at least he got an update of his skills and he´s not that open anymore after using his full S-String or a skill.

Also...he got a speed update. Don´t know how he looks slower for some, but he packed up a bit on the speed department.

BTW, I noticed that during some of the videos. The bosses stop and charge up, before they use a normal skill (not the super skills)
Isn´t that normally only in the easy difficutly?

Or do they have to charge it up too on Normal? Since on hard they just spam their favourite skill over and over *Yes I´m looking at you Kenshin...unfair bastard*

Shimazu also got a nice buff. He looks much better in crowds then he was before. And they changed his Jigenryu Raijin(Probably so it was look so similar to Masamune's Hell Dragon). The music was great and I liked Mitsunari's entrance.

@Devilsking: I think it's for all of them. Remember they did the same thing sometimes in SB2. I don't think they'll do it all the time though if it's like past games.

Ooh, thanks a lot for all the info Jsun, BK, NDY

Yes I am back DK, thanks for asking. Exams went well, I'm just relieved they're over. Now I can finally relax and make the most of the weeks leading up to Basara! ^_^

The site still hasn't updated, and it's midday here. But Yoshihiro's video was good, I enjoyed it. They managed to fit in quite a lot, like the "clash" feature and the demon pony, which looked tricky from the way it moved. Mitsunari and Steve were beastly, and I liked the look of the stage (seems Mistunari's angst even has the power to change the scenery). :shifty:

Musashi in season 2? Brilliant! Did you hear that at E3 Jsun? Hopefully this means he's guaranteed a place in the game. Not sure what to think about anime cut scenes, I guess it's to appeal to a wider range of fans but I always thought they were pretty pointless.
But new anime characters, that's certainly interesting. The second season's being released shortly before the game, so it would make sense to stick any newbies in there as a surprise.

And I'm glad Gamespot gave it a positive review, let's hope they're the first of many.

*EDIT* Oh, and hooray for an expanded European bonus package!
