I'm never seen the anime. So does itsuki appear in season 1? If not have you heard anything about season 2 for her?
Umm, not until the end, to be literal. I don't think anything's been announced as a fact for season 2 asides from a release date. But then there's already a thread for all of this anime discussion. :ph43r:

Hero's Mode would be much more interactive if there was actually a betrayal system, but at least we have different endings -- something that Samurai Warriors has lacked ever since its series release.

Yoshihiro looks pretty fun to play as (he's using a Kendo style of swordsmanship, right?). His attacks are powerful, and his specials' ranges were spectacular as well.

First of all I want to take a moment and thank all the great members here who contribute to the information gathered so far. All those who find us early links and information bits, get scans, upload videos, translate things, add subs to the videos, etc... thank you all! Off the top of my head BK, Jsun, NDY, and DK immediately come to mind in that regard, but for anyone else please forgive me if I didn't mention you specifically because I still deeply apperciate what you do / have done.

Despite the random mood swings the discussion seems to flow in and out, of this place really has helped fuel my desire to get SB3 as well as given me lots of enjoyment and taught me a few things along the way ^__^. You all rock!

Now then, onto this week's update:
I really loved Chesto's video. We got to see a lot of cool stuff too: The stage seems fantastic (as has been the trend lately), when dashing you can run through boxes to break them, his skills are VASTLY improved, the new skills give him the ability to combo much better since they can be chained together with each other / his s-string, the horse fight looked sweet, I think this is the first time we have seen a boss intro that features soldiers who will change based on the player's chosen character, and the clash mechanic looks cool in action.

The same can be said for me. I really appreciate what you guys are doing and have already done. Thank you, so much! ;)

Kotaro looks well, beastly. There really isn't much else to say. His skills really caught my attention, that's for sure.

THANK GOD. I think I might play as Yoshihiro more than once this time. His skill that turns his sword blue, looks like a life saver.

More playable characters, WOOT! VERY disappointed in the fact that there is no online mode, they're better be one for HEROES. :realangry:

I actually have a question about one of Chesto's moves...

When he unleashes that...wave...thing...I guess...

Is that a stomp?
Or a yell?
...
Or a belch?

--

Agreed~
I hope Heroes is better...
I actually wouldn't be surprised if the western release for SB:SH was more a less just a test of its popularity and sales rate...

Hmmm...well seeing that the site now features the special attributes of the characters (wanna know what Motochika has in that department...also, what´s Yukimura´s again? Being fired up? )

We still have 5 updates left(again, the last and sixth one will probably be the launch trailer and other PR stuff) so we´ll probably get the next four character attributes next week.

The stuff that we can expect is:

1 PC
2 Gameplay Videos
12 special characteristic updates (probably in a pack of Four or Three...four would mean 3 updates, three would mean 4 updates)

The best I could make out of that would be 3 worthwhile updates, one lame and one were I have absolutely nothing

But we can be sure that one of those 5 updates will be awesome since it´s gonna bring us the last PC.

So shortly before the relase...I hope they kept something epic, except for the PC...it´s still 6 weeks till the grand day. -_-

Alright today at the Sengoku BASARA E3 Booth I didn't get too many answers. The ones I did get however will disappoint many people.

Confirmed Details
No DLC has been planned yet so far. The Capcom rep told me that alternate outfits probably won't be featured. He said if they do plan to have them it will be for DLC, but he pretty much said "no" on the alternate outfits. DLC has a very low possibility for this game it seems.

Apparently, Capcom's plan for this game is to release it around the same time the anime comes out.

When I asked about Oda Nobunaga, Hanbei, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi he pretty much said they're confirmed, but probably won't be playable. Any characters that were presented in the videos will be in the game.

The good thing about today (I'm sure no one cares) was that the Wii version of the game is really fun to play regardless of the graphics. In fact, the graphics make SW3 look like a PS1 game.

Finally, the North American/European release date will be announced in late July around when the game comes out in Japan. So don't expect any details to pop up soon with that.

No alternate outfits....and if my faves, Hanbei and Hideyoshi even do appear, they'll just likely be NPCs.

....No words. Not even going to bother. Nope! :hehe:

No alt outfits.... What a pity. I always like some of them, particulary Oichi's alt and Motonari's.

H & H will prolly appear in a very early stage, and Mitsunari's opening scene. Think we won't see much of them, unless they rise from the death.

I tried out Magoichi and Yukimura today. Magoichi doesn't play so great as you're limited with combo chains. Her BASARA attack is ridiculously cool though. Yukimura felt generic with his charging spear attack which got old really fast.

I watched someone play Kanbei today. He has some pretty awesome dialogue and moves. Kind of sluggish though.

1. No alternate outfits actually doesn't bother me that much. As much as I'd love to have them, I don't think I'm going to resent playing with single outfits. Of course, I'd be happy if there was a change of plans (not going to happen, I know), but I can deal with this.

2. Makes sense to me that they'd place the release of the game around the anime's release. Promote both in one go.

3. I actually didn't expect to see these guys, let alone play as them, so I'm satisfied with this.

4. Well, this doesn't help me, considering that I'm going for the PS3 version, but my cousin has a Wii and he'll be getting that version, so he'll be glad to hear this. ^_^

5. I'm a pretty patient guy, even when it comes to things I really look forward to. I can bide my time... I think. :hehe:

Thanks very much for the info, Jsun. :)

Meh. No alts kinda blows since so much were better than some original costumes, but it's bearable. Guaranteed they'll be back in the expansion though.

How is gameplay on the Wii any different from the PS3 version? Will the PS3 version somehow be "less fun"? Can you even MAKE Basara "less fun"? Or is it actually going to use the motion control functions? (Also, graphics mean poop to me anyway, so long as I'm having fun).

No alt. outfits? Meh, whatever. Seeing as this is my official first in the series, that's not a problem for me.

Coinside with Anime release? I have little interest in the Anime itself, so again, not sure how this news will affect me. I've given up on a lot of Anime in the past years, and from what I've read about this one, the only way I'll start watching is probably if it's bundled in with the game or something.

NPC Hideyoshi, Hanbei and Nobunaga. AGAIN, no concern of mine. There are so many NPCs in this game anyway, why complain about three more, especially since there's good reason for them not to be playable this time around (and not because of that stupid 1 character per fraction rule).

Annnnnnnnd release date, which does concern me: does that mean it's set to come out in late July, or that they will give a specific date by late July? Either way, I'm hoping there's enough of a gap between SB3 and SW3 so that I can enjoy them both.

No offense, SB3 is flashier, shinier and probably the better of between the two, but Bros before Hos. SW3 will always, always, ALWAYS be first to be played and will be played before SB3. Sorry, nothing personal SB3, but SW3 did technically come first in my heart, so you're going to have to wait your turn. But don't worry, there will be plenty of time for hot, Basara-filled loving once I'm done with my first love.

Edit: Also, a million and one thanks, Jsun, for all the hard work you've done to obtain answers. I hope it's not like pulling teeth or breaking legs...

The Wii version plays exactly like the PS3 version. The only difference is the graphics. That's it.

The NA/EU release date will be announced by late July. I was already told it will be around September or October.

Obtaining answers from reps at E3 is really easy. They're there to help promote their products so they are pretty much like car salesman. I asked for a Capcom rep who specifically had knowledge about the game and they found me one. The sucky part is when you get reps who have no clue about any of the details of the game. It also helps when you're employed by a large media corporation. Sega reps definitely gave me the treatment today.

Okay, I was confused by what you said. I've already put my preorder in for the PS3 version, but that has nothing to do with graphics, but because I just prefer my PS3 controller in hack-n-slash games over the Gamecube and/or Classic controller pro. It's bad enough I have to accept SW3 being Wii only, but at least I have the option to play it on the console I love for this game.

Again, clarification- I wanted to make sure I was reading it right. I really don't mind if it's around the same time as SW3... it'd be better if they weren't close enough to each other, if only to give both of them a fair chance to play, but whatcha gonna do?

No DLC is not that surprising, because it would put the Wii version at a disadvantage: correct me if I'm wrong, but they don't have any DLC at all, right?

Nobunaga and H&H as NPCs mean that they will be tainted by English dub, too. I'm scared of things they'll do to Emperor Wakamoto.

H and H = Hanbei and Hideyoshi.

Speaking of whom, I'd be very interested to hear their English VAs if they do make an appearance. I'm keeping my expectations/hopes low, though; I know better than to expect top-notch voices.

Thanks Jsun as always!

I figured as much with most of that information. To recap:

1. We really are probably only getting the 1 extra character, and the Capcom rep last time was probably speaking in terms of the English characters revealed in the demo.

2. Very disappointing to hear about the alts, but I'll live with it. However, there BETTER at least be an alt color, with a few extra flairs like there was in SB2. There also better be armor pieces that upgrade and show up on the character.

3. It sucks that they won't cement down a US release date until the Japanese release because I was basing whether or not I'll import on that date.

4. I never expected DLC to begin with, it was never likely for this game and it just lends more to the idea of us getting an Expansion, which I actually like, because they know how to deliver a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to expansions.

5. I figured Kanbei would be sluggish, I just hope he can chain his attacks well and isn't too open to pokes due to laggy attacks. Yuki was always a little boring to me, and even with his upgrades he's never been too high on my list of playables anyway. Maggie looks just like you said, her attack string is always gonna be pretty boring if shes just shooting, but I think her awesome skills and basara will make up for that.

6. Tomorrow is Friday and the last day of my vacation :( I hate having to be an adult and have a job. You guys still in school, treasure your summer vacation!

I'm a Yuki fan, mainly cuz of his sheer power in his voice and his fire powers. Make fun of me all you want.

I don't know what to say, honestly, about how the new characters look in terms of gameplay. One of my friends brought up a good point about Oichi, saying she does look awesome to play, however, she looks like she is lacking fun from her gameplay, as it looks like how masamune and yukimura are to some of you, who say they are boring and cliche. It actually makes sense, but we will see.

Out of the new characters ('new'), im most interested in Ieyasu, mainly because boxing style has always been my favorite (was in chinese boxing for over 10 years) so I'm excited to see how he feels when using him. Not too fond of light, but it's whatever, at least he's got the hood and the style, I'm down for that!

I think the only character I'm not going to enjoy might be Shimazu, but then again, I've been reading up on how his gameplay goes against the grain and actually requires some sort of skill or timing to properly utilize.

Also, he swings his sword like a baseball bat. Not that I would correct the old geezer- it doesn't matter how he swings the weapon, so long as the other guy on the other end is dead, right?

I'm looking forward to most, if not all, of the characters. Considering the only game I played in this series was that monstrosity called Devil Kings. X___x I'm wondering how much Masamune and Yukimura changed from then, seeing as I think they're the only ones left from that game.

Re-occurring roles...... so the next playable characters (I hope not final pc) isn't Musashi because he never appear in season one.

And Itsuki and Matsunaga are two of most possible characters.

The Capcom rep from the day before was more knowledgeable about the game than the one today. He said the 2nd season of the anime for re-occurring characters.

I'm a bit skeptical about some of the things these guys said as well because decisions can change with the drop of a hat.
