well, dian wei doesnt lack power himself, its just that the weapon is terribly messed up,much like a car with an awesome engine spec, and setups but had messed up tires........it doesnt run well plus his style looks more like he's swinging a totally different stuff, which is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meteor_hammer the ball isnt supposed to be as big as dian wei's and the chain/rope need to be longer, its mostly used like a blunt kusarigama..... Just pre-ordered my copy with the bonus items. Set me back a bit, but I'll hopefully be tearing up the battlefield with Yoshi on August 2nd. Hmm, hopefully the Maeda tin will able to fit some of my other BASARA merchandise within it... Well, whatever the case, we're on our last run guys. Not long to go at all! Anyway, whats with all this Kanbei love lately? It seems everyone and their mother loves the guy. Don't get me wrong, its great to see him getting some love, but it all seemed rather... sudden. At least, compared to when he was first revealed. Also, I never really commeneted on the Yoshihiro vid. I've got nothing much to add to whats already been stated, but it was cool to see his fight against Yoshi. I suppose it makes up for the way he got shafted in the English skills trailer Plus, Mitsunari just keep impressing me. First I thought he was just another revenge seeking stereotype, but after all we've learned through his dialouge and how he acted before Hideyoshi's death, he goes about it in such a badass way. He deifinitely is mentally unstable, but his "Who are you?" to Masamune in the manga is pure gold. Seriously looking foward to seeing and hearing more from him, especially with such a great soundtrack and stage. |

Manta Punk, I think Kanbei surprised everyone on two distinct aspect and both for the positive. 1. Skills look tremendously fun to use. Like necrosis said, it's good to see a ball and chain guy that doesn't look like a total arse. Besides not being "total arse", this guy might be a contender, especially after NDY enlightened us on Kanbei's ability to cancel recovery times. 2. Perhaps more importantly and before the prospect that a vast majority of us will be playing SBSH instead of SB3, he got a really good english VA. Not just competent but actually good. Probably the best in the lot so far. Western audiences still haven't been officially introduced to the Yoshis, the Motos, Keiji, Oichi and Tsuru. These last two have me fearing for the worst... Oh Noto-sama, deliver us from this foul devil called "dubbing"! |

If you don't want to be disappointed, don't compare them to their original VA. You'll save yourself the grief. As for Kanbei, he's good, but not one of my favorites. He's mid tier on my "To play list". And btw, the latest trailer for season 2 is out. |

Yeah when Kanbei was first revealed, and then when his first gameplay video dropped, I was incredibly psyched at an awesome new addition to the cast. He jumped straight to the top of my "to play" list. And then after my super excited post after his video, pretty much everyone after me was completely uninterested. I didn't expect him to be everyone's favorite, but I was pretty surprised at the overall negative impression. But now things sort of flipped and I'm very excited to see more people interested in playing as him (or at least experiencing him storywise) |

^ Me too. Definitely one of the most memorable and hilarious things in all of SB. Annyways. I dunno how things are gonna turn out this week regarding new infos and the site update. If we do get a famitsu update it'll probably be just the character traits for the remaining cast they have't done yet . As for the site, wouldn't expect much other than them filling in the traits explanations that we did get already sans the main 4. Lack of even a date for Kotaro's video is the reason for thinking this but eh, maybe they'll surprise us and put it up. Doubt it though. Still waiting on stage information the most...and that last PC(s). |

Yeah, they can do taunts now. I think they work the same way as the player where if the taunt is successful, their BASARA gauge goes up a lot. |

I thought I´ve seen the worst moments of E3, when I watched Microsoft´s Dance Revolution gimmick convention. But that guy or whatever you might call him, just beat the Kinect to death and took it´s crown. I´m for a feature that let´s the controller of the PS3 slowly heat up, the more you suck at a game. And once you´ve reached "painfull to watch"-levels the heat becomes unbereable so he´ll never touches a game controller again. |

......A lil' harsh, but with good intentions. Yeah, that was pretty bad. Guy basically just did that charge attack, ran away, then did it again. Wash, rinse, repeat. My god was that slow and boring. I'd hate it more if it was this kind of gameplay that makes all of the reviewers say "Pff. Weak." The difference between SB and DW is that SB has the potential to go really, REALLY fast. Take advantage of it, damn you! |

What the heck was that? I was bored before the minute mark, all he did was spam the same move, and run away. It was pretty lame. XD At least we got to see the stage more fluidly. The water looks pretty good, it could use a better splash effect, but it looks fine the way it is. |

Well, the driving factor behind my harsh comment was the fact that a crap load of characters were sacrificed for colorfull graphics, the more thought out and deeper fighting mechanic and character skills/traits. All those favourite characters are banned for the simple fact of concentrating on making the game faster, deeper and thus more fun. And what do 70% of the people do with it? Nothing. Press the same freakin button, over and over again. You know, so many people complain about those games having loads of characters without depth and being about pressing one button, then suddenly SB3 comes along which sacrifices a lot of characters for deeper characters and faster combo gameplay and they still do the same crap over and over again. I wouldn´t have minded if it was SB2:H with more characters. Seriously, I wouldn´t give a blink of an eye if it was just 2.5 with fourty characters and finally all the characters playable with a full moveset. But they went for a deeper gameplay mechanic, but less characters, doesn´t suit me, but I accept it. And then comes the perfect example that most of the gamers are "rinse and repeat"-WoW gamers. (yes, talking about the whole world, there´s no difference in asian, european or american gamers) If you find 1 player that reads deeper into games like SB and realizes it´s not just another one button press hack´n slay, you find 10 douchebags who press the same button over and over again (probably even complain about how simple it is). You find them at the E3 on the CAPCOM booth playing SB3 and you find them online in Marvel vs. CAPCOM 2 spamming Cable´s shot attack and his special over and over again. It´s the same guys complaining about games being too easy, but all they did was play the game on easy and normal, cause hard was too hard for them (seriously...they exist...) You can get far with button mashing in any game. In Tekken you can just spam a low kick all the time. In God of War you can just spam the first two attacks, then evade and then spam them again. I don´t know how some find that fun or why they even bother pressing the start button on the title screen of a game, if all they do is spam the same thing, just because it works. My point is, that even if BASARA suddenly turned into the most complex, deepest hack´n slashing game out there, there´s still 70% that´ll spam one attack cause it works and then complain it´s too easy or when they get their butt kicked cause their method of trying to deceive the AI by pressing the same button over and over again doesn´t work, they just say: it sucks. And I´m not basing that on just this video, it´s the fact that most of those cam-videos are played by total jerks, the fact that around 50% in beat´em ups are button mashers and the fact that 40% of online ego-shooters are filled with campers. It´s nice that they look at the "hardcore gamer" and try to enhance the gameplay, but it won´t help in any way if most of the gamers out there, will still do the same with it...and then complain about it

Sad, but true. What are you going to do? Again, if I can't applaud the SB3 effort for any thing else, it definitely was adding on substantial fundamental/mechanical depth on to a game formula that's already quite robust, all things considered. But for most of my fellow Americans, they'll just see it as "LOL, Dynasty Warriors clone", and leave it at that. It's inescapable, and sadly, as I thought would happen, Capcom has not done nearly enough on the marketing end to try and distinguish BASARA from its competition. E3 was their best opportunity, and they pissed it all away. It's like a self-fulfilling "vicious circle": Capcom likely doesn't want to spend too much money on what they think will be judged as a "DW Clone" in the West, but on the other hand, by not spending some money, they're not presenting the American public with a different viewpoint to showcase otherwise. Boat is not rocked, as a result. |

Much better than the old one. He played a lot better. The guy was also playing on Hard. And we finally get to see the clash finisher. It seems he also had more skills than the Masamune vid (He showed 3 skills IIRC, I count the Air Rekka and the Ground version as one) or the other guy simply spammed the same two skills like a noob. |

Its the Tsuchi art I'm holding out for. But with the 2nd season of the anime just around the corner, I'm guessing waiting for new infos on a game already close to its release shouldn't be too much of a problem... Anyway, thanks for the video Koen. MoM receives no gratitude ![]() That was downright terrible and embarrassing. I mean, its like he didn't realise there were other buttons apart from the skill one. I'm hoping the reviwers won't be pulling off the same crap. The 2nd video was more tolerable. In fact, the kid even went against Hondam, despite the game advising otherwise. Impressive if it was his first time. Also, it may just be me, but did Naked Arms not loop? It seemed after its first play, it returned to the stages BGM. I'm hoping thats just a demo thing, because, you know, I specifically equip a BGM if I want to hear it throughout the entire stage... |

Actually, I'm pretty certain Naked Arms was from a different TV, one that probably plays the OP every couple of minutes, I don't think it was actually a part of the game we were watching. Like I guessed, the bodygaurds are completely useless. Out of both the vids, with Kojuuro and Sasuke acting as bodygaurd, I never saw either of them attacck once. Of course, I wasn't looking at them constantly, I but kept an eye on them when I could. It doesn't bother me, at least we still get to pound away through a group of enemies with not much help, I've always liked the way allies act, I don't want them interfering, but I do like having them accompanying me around. But still, it they put a lot of effort in the bodygaurds, put 60 seemingly unique bodygaurds, and this is what we get?

Thanks for the vid, Koen (also thanks to MoM )Wait, wait, wait...:"is it Yukimura...or my Mentor?" The Red Tiger is Ieyasu´s mentor? Does he mean Shingen with that? Did he get some Oyakata-sama "Eye of the Tiger"-training? Is that the reason he packs such a punch? And that pulley? Just imagine Kabei, Yoshitsugu or Tadakatsu using that thing Hmmm...maybe Sasuke doesn´t get paid well enough...he asked for a raising of his sold in Yukimura´s Gaiden afterall...it seems he didn´t get it And wow, if this is really the hard difficulty, Tadakatsu really needs to train again. Hitting Yukimura 5 times and it didn´t even really scratch the health bar....he even has "5 difficulty stars" over his head...Tadakatsu got soft... HOLY CRAP AND HIS BASARA! Yukimura still had more than half of his health bar after being hit over 10 times by Tadakatsu AND a full blow of his BASARA attack....and he has his lightning elemental weapon...wow...now that is dissapointing. I´ve lost my respect for him. That was weak. I wouldn´t run either if that is all that he can do EDIT: Well destructoid got his hands on SB:SH http://www.destructoid.com/e3-10-hands-on-sengoku-basara-samurai-heroes-177019.phtml Not as objective as other sites, but it has a nice take on the demo. Thoough if he´s talking about that Wussdam I saw in the video before, I´m not sure we talk about the same Tadakatsu
