Wasn't there a button mapping for the third skill that utilized Square+Triangle? I thought such was the case...and was pretty much the only way I could see me being able to get that third skill off with any degree of reliability... |

^ Yeah, you can use Square+Triangle but that subs in the R1+Tri slot, so not much help there. It's not that big of a deal if you have two skills in Tri and ^+Tri that combo well together but if you don't then meh... |

Wait, For the Analog+Tri do you actually have to press down on the analog stick? Or do you just push it in any direction? If it is pressing down on it, which analog stick is it? L3 or R3? Even if you could change that one to Sqr+Tri it would still be gimmicky, I've never been able to easily press down on two buttons simutaniously, besides Sqr+X, which is easy. ![]() @BasaraIsBest: Tri means Triangle, as in, the Top, green triangle button on the PS3 controller. |

No it's not pressing down on the (R) Analog, it's simply just moving it forward (pretty sure it might just be moving it period, actually, but I can't seem to remember right now) and pressing triangle at the same time. |

Hondam, can you elaborate more on the controls for skills and the subbing for the slots? I'm a bit confused. |

Triangle- Skill Slot 1 Analog + Triangle- Skill slot 2 R1+Triangle - Skill Slot 3 Triangle+Square can be substituted for Skill#3. And I dunno if the layout is gonna change in the actual game, or if we can change the layout ourselves or have more skills, but that's it as of the demo. |

You know, a thing they did actually right in the PSP game, was the three skills solution. Maybe I remember it wrong...that game hasn´t seen daylight since my desperate "I´ll get anything with BASARA" days...but it was: Skill 1: Triangle Skill 2: R + Sqaure Skill 3: R + Triangle ...is it too hard to just make the L into R1 and leave it at that? Let´s hope we can just set the buttons as we like them. Don´t think it should be impossible in times of Dual-Audio, Online Functions...oh... Edited by Matsunaga Hisahide, Mon Jun 28, 2010 8:37 pm.

Well, I would hope for an adequate button config. Coming from Musou to SB2, I appreciated being able to map the "block" button to a familiar position. ![]() Then again, this is the same Capcom that can go from a decent button config setup for SF:HDR, and then just as quickly go to a bad one in SF4 and TvC. So who knows, eh? |

Not too sure... Sure, it may still be Capcom but the Street Fighter team is extremely different from others... *Sigh* I've said it before, the only game of the series I've really delved into was DmC1, played the second and part of the forth and didn't truly care for the latter... *Ahem* Anywho... My apologies for bringing it up, but perhaps it's best we got a more a less accurate depiction... ... Can someone tell us how the controls over the Devil May Cry series has changed? It just seems like they could have made an easy solution with L1 being the skill button, so when you hold it down, square, triangle, and circle could be your three skills. Hell, then you could make triangle alone a fourth skill. Analog direction attacks are usually poorly implemented, unless its DMC, but in that game, it was specific skills that felt natural by going along with the analog, i.e. pressing forward for stinger, backwards to do a pop up attack, etc. |

That's actually a pretty good idea. I'm also hoping the Analog+Triangle will be able to be changed as well. If not, I'm foreseeing a lot of accidental skill activations in the future for me Skill names are no longer displayed in-game are they? |

yup, since you basically cannot switch skills mid game because all 3 are assigned to different buttons the skill names have no use in the interface.....if it were there we'd spot it already in masamune's vid, what's with all of his skill name being engrish in capital letters............. |

In all the Japanese BASARA games, R1 is block, while L1 was used to switch between your 2 skills. L1 was used to block only in Devil Kings, because the skills were moved to R1 + square/triangle, due to the "priming system". |

That's R1. L1 is for changing skills. I really do hope there will be key config for this. That Analog+triangle skill is sure to give me problems. Anyway, looking as how the layout of the skill slots go I think I'll go with: 1st skill slot: Fast hitting skills with little to no recovery 2nd skill slot: Moderate skills with moderate recovery 3rd skill slot: Slow hard hitting skills. (Charge up skills probably count) This way, if the either the 2nd and 3rd skills get interrupted I counter quick with the 1st skill. Well wow, this is rather looking more and more like a fighting game than it already is. ~LK |

Ugh, as soon as I plunked down the preorder, all of a sudden the game became "real" to me...now the wait is becoming unbearable. I just want to tear things up, level up my characters, get new weapons/armor/items, and see that combo count rise... Don't know why, but I just had to say that (PS Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is a great way to spend the wait til July 29) |

Oi... I...really hope there's a configuration system now too... I'm far too used to having L1 being block... Also, what is all this then? Ability to change skills mid battle? So, we're basically downgrading in our number of usable abilities, or what? My sincerest apologies, but I'm not too up-to-date with what Basara 2- Nay, Basara itself has within it... Basically a Demon Kings nub, to be perfectly honest. (Or, even, if someone could point me into the direction- be this information already translated and easily accessed) |

@wodash Thanks for the info ![]() @Oojin Nahh, the game isn't downgrading how many skills players can use as it was a max of 2 in SB2 and SB2H. Best way to learn info about the previous games are through OboroTennosuke aka NDY's Story Translation guide as well as BK's general Translation Guide. Both are on Gamefaqs. |

Nope. Changing skills in mid battle was what the past SB games used, where you would switch between 2 skills to spam by pressing L1. This however will make us (probably) combine different skills to make up powerful combos, such as having Date on 6 sword mode would change some of his skills and etc. |

So true. I just want to hit that X button on Mitsunari, and pwn some noobs. And, your so right. S&P is AMAZING. Hard, though. Which is why I like it, currently stuck on Can someone tell me where to find the SB3 place in PSHome? Where the demo is going to be? I was looking around yesterday, and I saw some posters. All I could find was a theater thing. Where you could watch trailers for games like Patapon 3, Last Ranker, SB3 and something else. Edited by Flashbang Incentive, Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:26 pm.

Go up the staircase in the first part of the lobby. The "Download & Play" area is on the second floor, and its right next to you when the floor loads. You can also take the elevator in the middle of the room to the second floor. |
