The reason why I said "half assed" was because, he will most likely not get any new moves. Hisahide, would get all new moves. Because he is a new character. It's half assed because they won't give him a whole new moveset. They'll just kinda port him from SB2 to SB3.

Hisahide would be all new.
Wow!!! how can you know that????...
All the Old characters have they old movements,so they are "half assed" too???

If that isn't ignorance, then I don't know what else that is. -_-

Even the old returning characters like Yoshihiro have new moves, so if the last PC is indeed Nobunaga of course he'll have new moves too.

Anyway regarding this surprise revelation, TBH I'm not too content about Nobunaga being the last PC, because it would defeat all purpose of the storyline background...

Now I fully realize why people say Koba is a great troll, and this 'surprise' would be the pinnacle of all of it. :meantongue:

But eh... at least his moveset gives him better prospect than Musashi anytime, though. And because Kojiro's still not there, maybe this is a better choice.

With the popularity of the Onimusha trilogy a few years back- I could see ademon-like Nobunaga being put in to draw a few fans from that crowd.

Damn, I thought I had eliminated all trolls in the 4th age....

Some sort of "Nightmare Nobunaga" (in the style of the vastly-overpowered "Nightmare Geese" from Fatal Fury Real Bout Special) would definitely be a nice surprise. But, as others have basically gone on to say, his addition would only tease that which could have been...

*mumbles again about how this overall "storyline" focus is the stuff of nonsense*

Any way...til next week, and the proud start of the new BASARA season.

The whole 12/13 episode anime thing that series keep going with is showing a (disturbing) trend in the industry. It should have been no surprise for the 2nd BASARA season to be this length again.

So, who else is hype for FMV tea master?
It's been like that for a very long time so two seasons make up a 26 episode season. It's even weirder when the series has 25 as opposed to the typical 24 or 26 episodes. Could be worse some animes just last too long. Like that one that's meant for washing your cloths.

Any who this talk of Nobunaga disturbs me...if he's back then I don't see the point in having a plot line at all. :kurokan:

I don't think what Basara said is ignorant at all. The old chars, except Ieyasu and Oichi, all retained their s-strings, and had a few changes to their moveset, that's true, but the novelty factor that we would feel playing as Hisahide (a slew of new skills, the Basara attack, new weapons-armors) would definitely be superior, I think. Same thing as a revamped Musashi.

Yet I don't believe for a second that Nobunaga will be in the game...he'd make Ieyasu and especially Mitsunari's existence much less important, and damn, I honestly doubt they would flat out lie like this.

That would be Keiji, and the other one Yoshitsugu. At first I thought it was Kanetsugu *cough*

And Nobunaga isn't necessarily a big reason Sekigahara happened, sure if he didn't die things may have turned out differently, but Nobunaga was human too, he would have died eventually, and who knows what would have happened then, My guess is Oda Loyalists A, fighting against Oda loyalists B. So essenially, a Sekigahara-like battle would have happened anyway.

If the last character is Nobunaga, then sweet, I love him, he is a serious bamf. As long as the last one isn't Itsuki, Kennyo (Sorry fans of Kennyo, I know I wouldn't like him, despite not having played him, I'm already not too fond of his personality, even though it's good for laughs), or Musashi I'm cool. Nobunaga, Hsahide, Hanbei (as unlikely as that would be) or a newbie are all fine by me. We all know Kobayashi was flat out lying when he said they would repsect the timeline for this game, that much has already been proven.

What is that? Is that an official screen saver or something like that or just a promotion pick.

Cuase if this one is an official thing, I don´t quite get why Maggie suddenly he blond-like hair and Kurokan looks nothing like Kurokan.

Some of them rare really poorly made...

Though, again, if this is made by CAPCOM or for them, showing those official 16 characters might give us the hint we needed -_-

Hmmm...this last character thing might turn out to be worse than R.O.B....though it´s Nobunaga, so I wouldn´t be dissapointed...

It´s just, like a lot of us, would want someone else that would make more sense and at least give us something new (Musashi getting a FULL moveset and Hisahide being a "new" character)

This is the main reason I don't buy it either. Nobunaga dying in the SB-verse is also what got the ball rolling on and lead to the story that we have now. He'd also be without Noh, Ran, Nagamasa, and Hideyoshi, which is weird. But again, this isn't an official source in the slightest. BK also made a good point with the Hisahide material in the promotion items we got awhile back.

And it might not mean much of anything but he'd also be without more than a half of the people that helped 'glue' him in place (as far as character relations and association go), specifically Noh, Ran, Nagamasa, and Hideyoshi. He'd have Tenkai and Ichi, but there's some historical background for having Mitsuhide live and the background given to Ichi for this game is that she represents all the dead Oda, as well as inherits the demon will of Nobunaga. Having Maou just suddenly be thrown in all this is just..I dunno, it's weird. From a story perspective anyway.

In history, sure. But in the story of SB he's the first factor in this whole chain of events. Nobunaga dying -> Hideyoshi took power. Hanbei died, and Hideyoshi sought even more -> Ieyasu then killed him, stepped up, and now we're at the climax of it all.

Hmm, I don't really know what to say about it all. To be honest, I never personally cared for Nobunaga as a character in anything and while SB's interpretation was cooler than most, I still never cared to play him much. So IMO I'd much rather have Hisahide or even Musashi (I'd even more like to have a brand new character). But still, I can't knock a character that a ton of people really and joy and would probably love another chance to play as.

Also, I'd like to be skeptical, but it is pretty weird that there is exactly all 15 chibi versions of every playable character and also Nobunaga, with a huge SB3 title, knowing full well we are going to be getting 16 characters. And it makes even more sense leaving him as the last reveal seeing as how he'd be a huge spoiler storywise.

I dunno, I really would rather someone else, but there is at least a LITTLE something to this clue...I have a feeling Nobunaga is the last character.

Also, which Jump is the info going to be in? Because I tend to see One Piece/Naruto/Bleach etc. crop up on wednesday/thursday, and that's AFTER being translated, so wouldn't the info be popping up at any moment if it was in regular Shonen Jump

Edit: Also, I just noticed my immense hypocrisy having a Nobunaga avatar :kurokan: But to be honest, if they actually used that young character design, he'd probably be my favorite character in the game...

Edit2: Also, this pretty meaningless Basara news

Nobunaga being playable? Sure, if he was just a secret playable and no other character in-game reacted to him outside of some Unification-type Mode because he's supposed to be dead and all. If he actually ends up being a significant factor or-- surprise surprise, the last boss-- then I would laugh because at that point, Kobayashi would only lap up the tears of rage like a hungry dog.

Wait, so is it confirmed that the Jump thing was a lie?

NDY, exactly what I was trying to say.

And yes, they kind of are half-assed, Jonathan Joestar.
However, what were they gonna do? It was right for them to bring back some characters, and they should keep most of their moves. But, for a character, that has been kept secret for so long, to be one of them, I think that could be considered "half assed".

Muneshige/Otomo stage! Looks amazing! Kotaro going crazy with the nonstop air combo as well was a wonderful sight.

Damn this game needs to get here pronto...

But it did make me desperately wish Muneshige was playable :(

Hopefully someone will translate the rest of the update, looks like it is all about the story paths. And the next video I'm guessing is that one part of the 10 minute mash up video that was on niconico a while back

Kotaro's video is pretty cool, though I guess the initial "wow factor" is dulled since his english video was at E3. Sorin's stage became the main focus instead :P
Muneshige...I see that "Tadakatsu of the West" title (that was Moonyshiggy, right?) is oh so fitting, since he chased Kotaro across a big chunk of the stage. That charging skill he used looked like it actually would have killed Kotaro had he not used his Basara when he did!

That new Drama Emaki info is about the branching paths?
And sadly, no awesome Kanbei-esque pics in the story details.
That big gameplay description PV is coming next week, that we saw ages ago.
Wow. Just 3 weeks to go. I can't believe it's almost finally here.

I just saw Kotaro's vid. That has to be the most entertaining one so far. I didn't think it was possible, but Fuma was even more ferocious in that battle than usual.

Muneshige and Sorin were awesome, too. I'm glad to see Muneshige's persistent and goes for the jugular. As for Sorin... he was my favorite new NPC to begin with; now he's only expanded his lead. He and his Zabii tank were easily my favorite part (though I found the Zabii tank to be maneuvering rather poorly; against a character as lightning-fast as Kotaro, it wasn't very threatening).

Tsuru reminds me of Itsuki with that "Big Sister" thing.
Yoshitsugu being suspicious.
The branching story lines sound interesting.

I wish they showed Muneshige's BASARA though.

And I noticed something interesting. Kotaro used 5 different skills in that video.

After rewatching it, Muneshige's S string is slow as hell. Even more than Yoshihiro and Itsuki's.

True, but it does look obscenely powerful...

Thanks for the translations NDY  Fuuma, Muneshige, heck even Sorin to some extent, they're all just SO awesome

Kotaro just screams Aerial combat. He rocks. Muneshige was blah with hsi mega slow chainsaw hands. Hahaha Sorin, was humping the air on the Zabii tank, like WTF? He looked fun, yet he seemed pretty slow and barely took any damage against Kotaro. Oh well...

He's the boss of the stage who happens to ride a tank. That's probably why he took little damage. That, or Fuuma's stats were piss-poor for the demo.

Stage looks great though and Fuuma looks like an absolute monster in the air. Was it just me or did his Basara attack seem a bit shorter than usual? I'm also wondering if, since Muneshige was compared to Honda, he'll be extra tough like Hondam is?
